From NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT

Professor Bill McGuire is a well-known vulcanologist and climate scientist who doesn’t care much for humanity. He tweeted out a scathingly brilliant idea if you’re in the mortuary business or work as a grave digger.
.
Ooopsie. McGuire deleted the tweet a few hours later but had no regrets. The trouble is, we just don’t understand how brilliant he is.
Full story here.

Prisons are full of very smart people. Perhaps too smart for
their own good. McGuire fits into that tribe.
Apalling logic by McGuire:
He wants to brutally kill a huge proportion of the population in order to prevent a huge proportion of the population being brutally killed by climate change.
Seems to sum it up…
Don’t underestimate the insanity of these people.
In the neighboring WUWT essay, “The Green Energy Wall Can’t Arrive Quickly Enough” Francis Menton says, “We are fast approaching something I have called the “Green Energy Wall.” … some combination of real-world obstacles … that will inevitably end the quest for emissions-free “net zero” electricity generation well before the goal of zero emissions is reached.”
The realized impossibility of Net Zero will merely increase alarmist frenzy and desperation. They will not abandon their fierce conviction in the face of the impossibility of attainment. Instead, they’ll redouble their efforts.
If technology won’t do it, and the population resists living in poverty and despair, the McGuire option will seem logical and, worse, moral to them.
High of piety, clear of conscience, righteous in determination, they may very well contemplate mass murder. ‘To save the planet.’™
Let the history of Sars-Cov-2 be a caution. It is a manufactured virus let loose upon the world. Virology is inexpensive. The gain-of-function techniques are now widely known and not difficult. Our resident planet-loving sociopathic billionaires can easily support a lab.
Facing failure in physics and economics and being desperately insane, they may well decide the way to utopia is through Virology.
How to stop them may be the most important question in our history as a species.
This is a fantastic idea!
Let’s start by having all the people who believe in the climate crisis immediately stop exhaling CO2.
Does anybody remember the episode of Star Trek TOS with the traveling band of actors who performed Shakespeare?
One of the players was Kodos the Executioner, former governor of the Earth colony of Tarsus IV. Kodos had ordered that half the population of 8,000 be put to death during a food shortage.

Isn’t this one of the reasons hunting is needed? Cull the herd before winter so that those that live until spring are healthier?
Why does this sound like the final solution?
My suggestion is this guy should commit suicide by chaining a cinder block to his ankle and jumping into a deep mud pit. This way the CO2 sequestered in his body won’t go back into the atmosphere in our lifetime but will become fossil fuel for generations millions of years from now.
Pandemic, implementing NetZero, which would cause more human misery and death?
Any proposed culling should be performed in a “top-down” fashion. This will solve two problems at once. When the climate scare-mongering elites have been eliminated, we will no longer have to listen to their lies and hysteria about AGW. Sounds like a win-win for the rest of us “useless eaters”.
Duh! So what’s new about this?Zealots have been saying for decades the population should be reduced to about 600 million.
The Green morons would then parrot this line without thinking.
I have often enjoyed their discomfort when challenged about how to achieved that reduction without enormous suffering
The eugenics movement was vary large in the US and other western countries, not just in Germany. In the US there was system of eugenics courts set up to rubber stamp any medical determinations on undesirable people. Large numbers were condemned to life in prison based on birth defects, damaged hearing, supposed lesser intellectual abilities, and other fanciful ideas about “genetics” that were even more absurd than many of today’s claims about “climate change”. About 70,000 people were forcefully sterilized, probably mostly women, to ensure they didn’t pass on their traits from inside their prisons.
My take is this only ended because the Germans were believed to be even further along with the program and, with the war, anything favorable towards Germans was viewed as even worse than being favorably inclined towards climate deniers.
He’s right, of course. If (and it’s an if the size of the mythical lost battery farm of Atlantis) the climate doom crowd is correct, then the only way to save humanity is to cull it.
Question? How do we decide who gets culled?
I would suggest that those who believe in this Atlantis should volunteer for the visit to the clinic in Amsterdam. For the good of humanity, of course. Such a small sacrifice.
This professor is precisely the type that gives academics a bad name with their asinine proposals that would affect everyone except themselves. What he needs to do is set an example by offering himself and his family up for sacrifice. Then we’ll see how many people are willing to do the same. It’s a safe bet there’d be few takers.
He has a Thanos complex.
That’s a safe route around the current antisemitism campus fights. Call it the Teflon Death Camps.
When people like this tell you what they want to do, it pays to listen. Because in all likelihood they are actively trying to do it.
What he is suggesting is the logical conclusion of the policies of the climate alarmists, even if they do not embark on a deliberate policy of extermination. Their policies, if enacted, will result in a world wide famine that is orders of magnitude worse than anything ever seen before.
People rely on the (misplaced) notion that the “experts” would not put in practice policies that would result in massive damage to society. However, they have repeatedly stated that this is their actual goal. Hanlon’s Razor must not be applied to people who have overtly signaled their malicious intent. In a sane world, this person would be lead off in a straight jacket to a facility where he could be kept safely away from society. In the insane world we currently live in, he will probably get an award.
He should be fired immediately and black balled from ever working in any academic or government position.

Just Soylent Green coming to life. They do need to make sure the survivors get enough protein.
The problem has become us.. This is again the evil notion undergirding eugenics. The height of megalomania is the power to decide who is worth and not worthy. We have seen this sort of evil emerge in history over and over.
Would a nuclear war help? Why not just lobby for one.
To be frank, he is a volcanologist, not a climate expert, and his research record in fundamental geology seems pretty thin, based on a Google Scholar search. Only the gullible media would listen to such an *expert,* because they are drawn to such catastrophists, not having any numerical or technical skills themselves and motivated by an outlandish story.
Jimmy Carter: Crisis of Confidence speech, July 15, 1979.
“The threat is nearly invisible in ordinary ways. It is a crisis of confidence. It is a crisis that strikes at the very heart and soul and spirit of our national will. We can see this crisis in the growing doubt about the meaning of our own lives and in the loss of a unity of purpose for our nation. The erosion of our confidence in the future is threatening to destroy the social and the political fabric of America.”
“For the first time in the history of our country, a majority of our people believe that the next five years will be worse than the past five years. Two-thirds of our people do not even vote. The productivity of American workers is actually dropping, and the willingness of Americans to save for the future has fallen below that of all other people in the Western world.”
Both a prophesy that seems to be coming true and a manual for those wishing our downfall.
“Little by little we can and we must rebuild our confidence. We can spend until we empty our treasuries, and we may summon all the wonders of science,” he concluded. “But we can succeed only if we tap our greatest resources—America’s people, America’s values, and America’s confidence.”
Somehow the expression Make America Great Again is valid so long as it is not a political posturing.
