Our turkey, just now stripped and the remnants disposed of – $17.95 for just over 18 pounds (Butterball, not an off brand). ANYONE paying nearly twice that is just too danged lazy to shop when the sales are going on.
Oh, the Costco pie is waiting for us when at least some digestion has been accomplished.
The only real threats to the food supply are “solutions” like banning nitrate fertilizers, or rewilding farmland.
Well, I’m fine with rewilding some farmland – those marginal acres that were plowed up thanks to the ethanol mandates.

Cranberry Production is forecast (stats not quite in yet) for 2023 to be just at the 5-year average. Some states are down a little, some are up a lot (Oregon).
Cranberry is a niche crop, produced almost exclusively for the holiday table.
When we go to brother-in-law’s place on Cape Cod we pass all manner of cranberry operations, and they are doing just fine.
@Kip – There is a very large amount that is made into juice or dehydrated these days, not as berries or jelled for the dinner table.
I drink PURE (not the sweetened “cocktail”) cranberry juice every morning, mixed with Braggs vinegar, lemon juice and water, for a sort of kidney cleansing elixir. Finding pure not easy, but Trader Joe’s has it.

Mitigating Climate Change requires an end to FF usage. As well as an end to FF sourced Ammonia based fertilizers.
Reducing ambient atmospheric CO2 levels will lessen productivity of crops needed to feed society.
Elimination of nitrogen based fertilizers will lessen productivity of crops needed to feed society.
Elimination of animal farming (Beef, Pork and Turkey) to reduce CO2 will eliminate food sources for holiday feasts.
Battling the CC boogeyman to save Thanksgiving will only serve to bring about its destruction
Woops controlling/eliminating animal farming would reduce/eliminate CH4 more than CO2 though those animals still need to be fed crops dependent upon CO2
