Now Will You Support Green New Deal!? ‘Climate Change is Threatening Your Thanksgiving’

From CLIMATE DEPOT

By Marc Morano

ABC News: Climate change could soon make these staple Thanksgiving dishes more scarce – Produce is among the most affected by climate change, according to experts. Thanksgiving could soon become another victim of climate change as rising temperatures threaten the abundance and quality of the ingredients used to make traditional dishes seen year after year. As a result, these essential food items could become increasingly scarce and more expensive, potentially forcing families to omit or make substitutions in key recipes on their Thanksgiving menus.

I predict within 2 weeks we’ll see articles about how climate change will ruin Christmas and New Year’s Day. 😉

All that will be replaced by insects, not just for Thanksgiving, but for every meal, if the Net Zero nuts get their way.

The “food” will be packaged in containers with appealing names, and palm tree back grounds, using the latest feel-good AI software.

Insects take cold weather badly.

Which means they’ll grow the insects in dependable fossil fueled environments…
Cheaper!? Not likely.

They publish the lies unceasingly but the truth is hidden from view: that he policies advocated to fight the mythical climate emergency are what will restrict access to all of the goods and services that make modern life healthy and comfortable. If thanksgiving becomes a distant memory it will have nothing to do with the weather and everything to do with the cattle feces spewing from the mouths of progressive wingnuts and trough feeders.

The far left just wants to take it all away from us, don’t they? (While they enjoy it all every year) They just have to write articles fantasizing about beating us all over the heads with telling us that we peasants are living too high on the hog and we need to be down sized. If only I were in charge, they would get their due.

Even with all our problems, including inflation, Costco sell humongous pumpkin pies for $5.99 (before tax).

One of the car dealers in town has a radio ad – “The average cost of a Thanksgiving turkey this year is $34.15. Drive away one of our cars with that as a down payment! (on approved credit, of course – which for this one, will be approved, probably at a 30% interest rate).

Our turkey, just now stripped and the remnants disposed of – $17.95 for just over 18 pounds (Butterball, not an off brand). ANYONE paying nearly twice that is just too danged lazy to shop when the sales are going on.

Oh, the Costco pie is waiting for us when at least some digestion has been accomplished.

The only real threats to the food supply are “solutions” like banning nitrate fertilizers, or rewilding farmland.

Well, I’m fine with rewilding some farmland – those marginal acres that were plowed up thanks to the ethanol mandates.

Produce is among the most affected by climate change, according to experts.

Those are clearly NOT experts on the effects of CO2 on the growing of produce. And if that simple form of knowledge is lacking with them, they can stuff all the political ‘expertise’ they’re flaunting.

Cranberry Production is forecast (stats not quite in yet) for 2023 to be just at the 5-year average. Some states are down a little, some are up a lot (Oregon).

Cranberry is a niche crop, produced almost exclusively for the holiday table.

When we go to brother-in-law’s place on Cape Cod we pass all manner of cranberry operations, and they are doing just fine.

@Kip – There is a very large amount that is made into juice or dehydrated these days, not as berries or jelled for the dinner table.

I drink PURE (not the sweetened “cocktail”) cranberry juice every morning, mixed with Braggs vinegar, lemon juice and water, for a sort of kidney cleansing elixir. Finding pure not easy, but Trader Joe’s has it.

Pick a story, any story and change “Climate Change” to “Mitigating Climate Change”
Mitigating Climate Change requires an end to FF usage. As well as an end to FF sourced Ammonia based fertilizers.

Reducing ambient atmospheric CO2 levels will lessen productivity of crops needed to feed society.
Elimination of nitrogen based fertilizers will lessen productivity of crops needed to feed society.
Elimination of animal farming (Beef, Pork and Turkey) to reduce CO2 will eliminate food sources for holiday feasts.

Battling the CC boogeyman to save Thanksgiving will only serve to bring about its destruction

Woops controlling/eliminating animal farming would reduce/eliminate CH4 more than CO2 though those animals still need to be fed crops dependent upon CO2

The whole CH4 GHG thing is just stupidly wrong.

Yes, it is a GHG in the lab in a standard dry atmosphere.
No, it is not in the real world with about an average 2% specific humidity, because its IR absorption bands are completely overlayed by much more abundant water vapor IR absorption bands.

The whole melting permafrost/ruminant animal CH4 climatastrophy thing is undeniably wrong physics. The more alarmists spout it, the more they prove they are physics illiterate.

Anyone suggesting that a warmer average climate will reduce the growing of Sweet potatoes has clearly never even taken the time to Google “what climate is good for sweet potatoes”, let alone grow them

looks like the alarmists got their communications tangled with this claim

November 24, 2023 9:54 am

I guess they forgot that all produce thrives on more CO2. So how could it be threatened?
