- Those trying to get to work Friday morning were seen on video not exactly feeling the unity
- One commuter eventually got out of his car and threatened, ‘Move before I pull my gun out’
Commuters in Washington got into a raging confrontation with climate activists on their way to the nation’s capital Friday, with one even threatening to shoot protesters blocking the highway.
A group called Declare Emergency, which is demanding President Joe Biden declare a ‘climate emergency,’ sat themselves down on I-395, one of the main routes to Washington, and refused to get up.
That soon prompted a furious backlash from drivers. One woman got out of her car and threatened the rabble with a gun if they refused to let her past to go see her mom, while an irate man ripped placards out of the group’s hands and tossed them above the median and onto the other side of the interstate.
After half an hour, police arrived to arrest the group.

Thankfully DC police arrived within half an hour to arrest the climate protestors, before they got hurt.
I think this incident raises an important issue. I don’t condone violence, but people who block roads are putting themselves in harms way.
I remember a close relative once had to rush her son to hospital, when her son suffered an asthma attack and stopped breathing. Pedal to the metal all the way. She stopped once, briefly, for police, and they gave her an escort. The boy was saved – just – but was seconds away from death when they arrived at the hospital.
Sometimes people really need to get to where they are going. I can’t imagine my relative would have slowed down for a bunch of climate protestors, with her son’s life hanging in the balance she would have driven through them, if they didn’t give way. She wasn’t a violent person, there would have been tears in her eyes when she did it.
I thought this forum was meant to be a serious discussion of climate change .. not a forum of anger and subliminal hate for ones fellow human beings, Is the USA on the point of a civil war?

The Left is pushing for it by creating a two-tiered justice
system in the US that gives them the power they stole from
us. The Left wants us to lash out with aggression via hate
speech and/or unnecessary violence beyond self-defense. The
wise response is to not indulge in hate speech & to only use
violence when necessary in self-defense. So you are right in
that hate speech shouldn’t even be done as it only plays into
what the Left wants us to do- react out of anger not maintain
discipline. Also, hate speech may NOT discourage others from
being uncivil when faced with a situation like this.
The key is keeping one’s cool & not striking out. When this
situation gets me angry, I try to limit that “venting” to myself
as sharing that anger & frustration with others could snowball
into something worse, which is what the Left wants. So we must
“keep our eyes on the prize” by staying disciplined as that makes
it as hard as possible for them to achieve their nefarious goal!

Look at the expression of the bloke with the beard in the first video. It’s like trying to reason with a goat.
Given what I’ve seen of that lot, perhaps one would have more success reasoning with a goat.
Why not incorporate these narcissistic protests into the Darwin awards?
What to do about these protestors when they block the road? I am reminded of the movie Bhowani Junction, when the Indian nationalists sat on a railway line in front of a locomotive. The bloke in charge (Stewart Grainger? – not going to check) got the Dalits to get the excrement from the toilets and threw it all over the protestors. They moved…….

They don’t do irony, using fossil fuel based super glue to fix themselves and their manmade material Hi-Viz to anything.
Had there been a pile-up with fatalities, they would be more guilty of murder than the police who arrested George Floyd. Far more intent and reckless disregard with more direct causation.
Maybe we just zap them with energy weapons (or whatever we have these days). Not to seriously injure them, but to make them super dizzy for a while.

Wonder if the protesters are paid for blocking traffic.
Besides possibly causing a death due to a medical emergency they are interfering with commerce and a person’s right to travel without being molested or delayed.
Stunts like this will continue until the government takes the side of it’s citizens going about their daily lives.
They have no right to interfere with other peoples lives. If they get run over it’s there own fault. There ahould be a law against being an idiot. These jokers should get a year in prison for blocking traffic and 5 years for being idiots.
These protesters must be considered enemies of a modern society. While they have a right to protest others have the right to protest against the protesters. While these enemies of the people are sitting in the road protesting why not have counter protesters cover them with foul smelling stuff which can be purchased on Amazon. There are a variety of items that can either be sprayed on the protester or used close to the protester that will cost them great discomfort. It’s time to fight back.
I bet they won a lot of converts with that stunt.

Why isn’t anyone commenting that it is illegal for pedestrians to be on our highways? In my mind, this includes those merely standing or sitting in traffic lanes; after all, they walked to their positions.
You are not allowed to carry a firearm in your car anywhere in DC.
This isn’t to say that I support the climate protestors.
