A commuter appeared to lose their patience with Blockade Australia protesters in Sydney’s CBD on Monday morning as they drove straight through a crowd.

June 27, 2022 – 10:50AMA driver has rushed through a crowd of Blockade Australia protesters in Sydney’s CBD – and narrowly avoided disaster.
The climate activists took to the streets on Monday morning to “cause disruption to the political and economic systems”.
The protesters were walking across an intersection just before 9am in the heart of the city when a driver in a grey SUV appeared to lose patience with the delays and accelerated into the demonstrators.
The vehicle slowed as it made contact with the protesters, who were pushed away, while others attempted to position themselves in front of the bonnet.
The car then pressed on with its journey forward and drove away from the group. It is understood no one was injured.

I fully support the right to protest, and WUWT certainly does not endorse violence or attacks on protestors. But surely there must be a balance? Like I’m happy for the funny green hippies dressed in fossil fuel based fabrics to wave their banners and shout their slogans, its free street theatre as far as I’m concerned. But they need to let the traffic through.
Perfectly legal here in the Free State of Florida to run over the protestors. Hence, we don’t get type of nonsense .

Municipal governments, and the police they direct, need to do their job instead of aiding & abetting lawlessness by leftists they support. That is the real problem.
If you want to block a street get the required permit for a parade route. This sort of street blocking is illegal. The protesters know it as do the police who aid & abet it.

One of the things that is causing the frustration of the regular citizen is the obvious double standard.
Block me from my normal business? Fine and dandy with the government. Block access to a favored Leftist establishment, such as an abortion clinic? Plan to spend several months in jail.
Not much tolerance for protesters, they deserve swift and brutal punishment.
Most of these protestors (I call them morons) actually drove from Victoria. It is good to see the police doing what they should be doing.
What’s going on here in Aus is beyond monumentally stupid.
Commonly, blocking roads is a traffic offense, and might be a criminal in other cases and circumstances – the police should deal with it – not endorse and encourage it, as they are disrupting regular peoples lives and income for political motives.
In UK, XR has even gone to state that they would not let rescue vehicles or critically ill patients in ambulances through and they would be willing to let people die for their cause – that is no longer peaceful protest – that is straight-out terrorism.
