Ever wondered who funded XR?

Big American and UK Money, Global Reach
Extinction Rebellion is no local grassroots NGO. Instead, it receives major financial support from American and UK millionaires.
A 2019 New York Times story from reported:
“Climate change protesters from Extinction Rebellion snarled traffic in Washington on Monday and again on Friday. You might find yourself asking, ‘Who helps pays for this activism?’ The answer, in part, is the scions of some of America’s most famous families, including the Kennedys and the Gettys.”
That would be referring to Rory Kennedy (daughter of former U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy) and Aileen Getty (a granddaughter of former U.S. oil businessman Jean Paul Getty), who started the Climate Emergency Fund which has given hundreds of thousands of dollars to Extinction Rebellion. Getty’s foundation even touts its support for Extinction Rebellion.
According to Buzzfeed, Extinction Rebellion was started by two British nationals and profile of the group shows that these threats of violence come from a calculated strategy:
“From the outside, Extinction Rebellion looks like a freewheeling movement fond of elaborate costumes and outlandish stunts. There is actually a deeply thought-out method beneath its madness, even as some of its stunts have caused internal tensions, and its message is deadly serious. And as much as it caught the political world by surprise, it didn’t just spontaneously erupt.”
And in the United Kingdom, Extinction Rebellion receives support from hedge fund manager Sir Chris Hohn. Earlier this year, The Guardian reported that Hohn “paid himself just shy of £1m-a-day last year,” and is using his wealth to support the group:
“Instead, he has pumped money into Extinction Rebellion (XR), the ‘respectful disruption’ campaign that has staged high-profile sit-in protests around the world. When Hohn was revealed as XR’s single biggest donor, he said: ‘Humanity is aggressively destroying the world with climate change and there is an urgent need for us all to wake up to this fact.’”
Hohn is also the founder of the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, which spends heavily on climate activism.
This money has helped Extinction Rebellion stage massive, disruptive protests around the world including at the recent COP26 in Glasgow, and in London, New York City, Paris, and Tokyo.
Likewise, Suzuki has also benefitted from big American money. Since 2000, the David Suzuki Foundation has received major financial support from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund – one of the key groups backing the activist and litigation campaigns against the energy industry. More recently, the foundation received a total of nearly $1 million from the Packard Foundation, Hewlett Foundation, and Bullitt Foundation.
Full story here.
These clueless trust fund babies and their billionaire friends (Gates, Buffett, Soros) are also the funding source for the rioters of BLM (whose leaders purchase $million CA homes) and the violent thugs of AntiFa. If it weren’t for rich people there would not be any of these so-called social justice movements, all of which have elitist fascist police states as their goal.
Hah! Have you now or ever been funded by the Green Blight? Profited from environmental and labor arbitrage through shared responsibility? Invested in, employed by the Blight industry? Spun handmade tales to create political, social, and economic capital or redistribute risk?
Just change the law so that you are allowed to run over 3 or more people who are sitting down on a road blocking access. Just to differentiate between a protest and somebody actually collapsing.
Only kidding.
2 would actually do the trick.
Well this is pure BS if ever I saw it. XR has hardly any money anymore, is a voluntary organisation and run on donations from people who care about their kids futures.
They have kids with them! Where’s child welfare when they’re really needed?
Very happy my last PC was not an HP.
Reset, build back better, new green deal.
You will be permitted to exist if you are healthy and useful.
They will control the wealth and live.
Since these people claim tax deductions
the government can disallow them and tax them out of existence
End of the rebellion
amazing how the same families keep cropping up for hundreds of years and calling em out makes us? the nutters/tinfoil hatters?
Since ER is a terrorist organization operating across multiple national borders it is time to seize their assets, jail their leaders and prosecute their financial supporters.
The fact that wealthy people who are long dead are funding NGOs who exist to disrupt society is a direct result of government-granted tax exemptions that enable tax reduction through a foundation that effectively has eternal life. This is because to retain tax-exemption, a foundation only must donate 5% of its assets to qualifying recipients every year.
Since any competent investment manager can earn more than 5%, and since foundations have self-appointing boards, no shareholders who can vote board seats, and no customers to boycott it, such a foundation can grow larger and larger each year, free of taxes and fund just about any social cause that please those in control of it and nobody can stop them.
The solution is to increase the required annual payout from 5% to 10%. That will bring mortality to all such entities. They will be forced to spend themselves into extinction over time. It will not unduly disrupt the efforts of foundations that spend what they receive in donations. It is time to change this tax exemption that is dangerous to our democratic government. The Soros, Tides and Gates foundations only have so much power because government has this provision.
Actually start taxing foundations at corporate rates on their income beyond the 5% donated like the corporations they really are.
So, there really is a case to be made to eat the rich.
This is the meta-communication problem for me. When all I hear about is possible future “threat, threat threat” and possible future innovation that never comes and solutions that only result in increased taxes and endless mindless propaganda and turkey science…. then I know I am being played by people who don’t respect me or the rest of us. If this is the case, then the entire game is about money.
Who funds the endless propaganda we get from the weather media? And endless propaganda from Hollywood, to general online and TV media to science reporting? Why are the oil companies supporting and lobbying both at state and federal levels for carbon taxes and at the same time pushing to making off grid illegal, (successful in 12 states already)? I would not assume that climate change and radical environmentalism is all in god faith. This sort of thing is leveraged by powerful people to benefit themselves in the long run. Hey, I am all for The NEW BATTERY that will change everything and would love to see hydrocarbon fuel demand reduced by a factor of 10 over the next 50 years because this should empower local economies with less expensive energy, (why do any innovation if it doesn’t make stuff less expensive) and reduce air and water pollution. It would mean the modernization of a energy paradigm that is growing more an more powerful, colluded, inefficient and burdensome and old by now.
