As forests dry out, they are subject to both fires and infestations that kill all the trees, so you get a lot less trees. As the sea level goes up, the beaches go away.”

Poor Bill. For what its worth I think he really does care, but it seems like he is suffering in a hellish prison composed of his own ignorance.
Why do we know Bill is wrong about the corals dying and trees all burning away, and the equator becoming uninhabitably hot, if we release a little anthropogenic CO2?
Because none of this happened last time CO2 levels were slightly elevated.
Paleo-climatologists know that far from being abnormally warm, the world is currently enduring the Quaternary Glaciation, a period of unusual cold which started 2.58 million years ago. Only four other comparable cold ages have been identified in the entire paleo-climate record.
And so what ? Since travel is restricted and all are locked down home, who cares of things that no one can visit to admire?
I thought Bill Nye was the “Science Guy”. Did Mr. Gates buy some science degrees, or is he just a self proclaimed science expert, like Al Sharpton is a self proclaimed spokesmen for black people?

Nor can money buy good looks, aging gracefully, or happiness. While many people look up to him, I doubt that he could intellectually keep up with most of us here on a one-on-one basis. Paying ghost writers to write books under his name doesn’t provide him with any knowledge.
Why do billionaires think their solution is the answer? What is it about having piles of money that gives anyone the right to ignore people’s rights? Gates is a lunatic with money that’s all there is to the issue!!!!

For the past 2.5 million years, the earth has been in an Ice Age, punctuated by massive glaciation periods and inter-glacial periods.
During the end of the last glaciation period 12,000 years ago, the area where the UN building exists was under 1 mile of Ice…. Hmmmm, the UN building under 1 mile of ice… sweet!
CO2 levels are still actually too low. For the past 600 million years, CO2 levels were normally well over 1,000 ppm except during a few extinction events when they fell to current levels (not good)…..
There are entire gigantic mountain ranges partially comprised of sandstone, which is comprised of ancient corals and shellfish which thrived when CO2 levels were many multiples of current levels, so the corals will do just fine…
Just since 1980, higher CO2’s levels have increased global greening by 12 million KM^2 (1.5 TIMES the area of the continental US), so it’s absurd to think higher CO2 levels will kill all trees.
We’re living in an era of anti-science..

Hey Bill, just stay home and study up on what you don’t know — one would be that corals like warm water. Your crazy sun-blotting plan will hurt the corals.
If Gates didn’t undertake this type of misdirection salesmanship, just think how much trouble the eco-extremists could cause because of the huge CO2 footprint of his enormous server farms.

Just saw him on CNN. Everything he said is BS.
During the last glacial cycle earth’s CO2 level fell to 180ppm.
That’s just 30ppm above the “Death Zone” for plants.
Plants are the base of the food chain for all life on earth.
The CO2 level basement has fallen with each successive glacial maximum cycle.
We are well over the average time interglacial warm periods last, by around 3000 years.
So, the next era will start soon (on the geologic clock), and it will be the Big Long Cold.
The best man can do for the long term survival of life.
Is to pump as much CO2 into our atmosphere as possible.
Bill Gates is a smart man. But deluded, and ignorant outside of his box.
