The Apocalypse Is Now: We Need Immediate Action Against Climate Change To Survive

Erin Bunch・September 23, 2020

“Oof, 2020 is the worst.” You’ve heard the refrain; you’ve seen the memes. There’s a good chance that you, yourself, have uttered something along the lines of “I can’t wait for this garbage fire of a year to end” under your breath while scrolling through apocalyptic headlines of rampant disease, wildfires, hazardous air quality, hurricane damage… shall I go on?

But the truth is, this unprecedented-in-our-lifetime global state of emergency is not an aberration, and it won’t end as the sun sets on 2020. This, too, shall not pass. Because the common denominator for so much of this death and destruction is climate change, and at this point, there is no avoiding the catastrophic effects caused by the warming of our planet—we are already experiencing them. As Anthony Leiserowitz, PhD, Director of the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication, puts it, for those born in 2020, this is, in some ways, the best of what’s to come.

Right now, the majority of people around the globe are like the parabolic frogs sitting in a pot of boiling water. Things are heating up, but, heedless of the gradually worsening conditions around them, the frogs stay put. By the time full-blown disaster is upon them, it’s too late to hop out.

In America, we have yet to significantly feel the effects of the type of climate-related food supply disruption that experts warn looms globally (as in, our populations aren’t starving for this particular reason, even if they are for others), but they are coming. And in the future, Dr. Klein Salamon says “resource wars” will inevitably result from weather-damaged crops. Research has already, in fact, connected climate-change-related drought in Syria to that country’s civil war this past decade, which displaced millions and led to a refugee crisis.

Both Dr. Leiserowitz and Dr. Klein Salamon would like to have better news for us. “I wish I could tell you that the air quality is bad this year, but it’ll be better next year. But the truth is that this is accelerating,” Dr. Klein Salamon says. “We’re talking about the collapse of civilization, and I think it’s really important for people to hear that. I truly believe this is the apocalypse.”

I’m really worried. I mean, I normally set my home thermostat to 23C (73F). Maybe I should superglue the control button, because if I accidentally adjust the temperature up half a degree, I might experience the end of civilisation.

I only have one question. What is a parabolic frog?

Get ready for The Great Reset …

Now is the time for a ‘great reset’ of capitalism | World Economic Forum
https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2020/06/now-is-the-time-for-a-great-reset/

(snip)

“To achieve a better outcome, the world must act jointly and swiftly to revamp all aspects of our societies and economies, from education to social contracts and working conditions. Every country, from the United States to China, must participate, and every industry, from oil and gas to tech, must be transformed. In short, we need a ‘Great Reset’ of capitalism.”

I’m OK with a reset, so long as it means that everyone in the world is guaranteed the equivalent of our first and second amendment rights.

Every “reform” of capitalism manages to turn it into some form of socialism.
To bad they haven’t managed to find a form of socialism that works for anyone besides those who run it.

The “experts” here in this piece are simply climate fraudsters. They are riding the climate change grant gravy train in today’s university academia. It’s a place where no one really works that hard for a nice paycheck and lots of free-time.
All they gotta do it write up some junk, pseudosciency sounding stuff every so often and get it published somewhere. The peer-review crisis has exposed the many no-threshold journals and outlets these climate fraudsters, and others like the gender study fraudsters, use to get their junk write-ups published.

Well someone has to start laying the foundation for Dems losing all that they gain in the House, Senate, and WH? The bigger they are the harder they fall.

“hings are heating up, but, heedless of the gradually worsening conditions around them, the frogs stay put.”

How do they know things are heating up?

The “global average temperature” can’t tell you whether maximums are going up or if minimums are going up!

Does *NO ONE* pushing the climate change meme know basic math?

That’s another inconvenient truth. There is only one overwhelming driver… forcing, that sets the global mood. Their global average statistic is not a useful measure to assess environmental or human risk.

n.n.

Absolutely. Averages are not useful for much when it comes to temperature. Climate is based on the entire temperature profile, from min to max, integrated over an entire year.

I find they are absolutely correct. Efforts to combat the fraudulent “climate change” conjecture, particularly implementation of the Green New Deal, will lead to the collapse of civilization. Tens of millions of Americans would die, perhaps hundreds of millions, while the rest spread out to scratch out a subsistence existence in the shadows of the windmills and solar panels. A tiny handful of our “betters” may continue on in remains of the cities for a short while.

What do you mean that’s not the collapse of civilization they’re talking about?

September 24, 2020 12:47 pm

So you have a climate communicator PhD – sort of a climate social worker. And what do you do? Well, you aren’t expected to know the least about the science but your salary is for agonizing over and trumpeting climate disaster hype.

If you put a climate communicator in a pot with a climate psychologist and gradually cool it, it reaches a point where he may want to jump out but the cli-psyche talks him into staying until they freeze to death.

The only thing threatening civilization right now is the riots. I’d love to hear someone explain how climate change caused those.

They must mean: protests (i.e. warlock judgments), violence (i.e. witch trials), and Dodo Dynasties.

>> What is a parabolic frog?
I have honestly no clue.. maybe a horribly misspelled boiling frog?
And you can always learn something.. if it were, according to Wiki “boiling frog” that is another wrong myth!

So we have a climta alarmist borrowing from a false myth.. hmm

The only greenhouse gas that has an effect on climate is water vapor. Global WV trend has been increasing 1.5% per decade which is faster than possible from temperature increase (feedback). https://tinyurl.com/yxehr2pj is a comparison of measured WV and what it would be if only from temperature increase.

The WV increase is nearly all (about 96%) from increasing irrigation. https://watervaporandwarming.blogspot.com WV increase accounts for all of the temperature increase attributable to humanity. Carbon dioxide, in spite of being a ghg, has no net effect on climate.

The only greenhouse gas that has an effect on climate is water vapor.

The atmospheric ocean. Water moderates heat at low and high altitudes.

True, but water is a liquid, not a greenhouse gas.

Somewhere, there must be a climate cookbook. See, you’ve got all these climate ingredients – floods, droughts, fires, super duper storms, etc., and you mix them together, then you pre-bake in a half degree to get that extra climate goodness. There’s an art to climate cookery.

Maybe some brilliant science geek computer modeler could create a simulation of what would happen if the world stopped all use of fossil fuels for say 1 month, 3 months, 1 year, 5 years, etc. I suspect civilization collapse would be a wholly inadequate description. There would, of course, be no further production or installation of “carbon free” energy production products or ability to maintain what has already been built. I’d bet on societal decent into tribalism within months.

No taxpayer dollar should ever again go to fund scientific research at Yale. That place is a pigsty of leftist hysteria and cowardly political correctness. And I think I might be insulting the poor, innocent pigs. There are lots of other institutions that should likewise be forever banned from receiving taxpayer dollars, also, though too numerous to mention here.

There could be something to this. One cold morning I turned the heat up in my house 2 degrees (C) and noticed fire and brimstone coming down from the sky, rivers and seas boiling, forty years of darkness, earthquakes, volcanoes, the dead rising from the grave, human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together. Mass hysteria.

If good people don’t step up and end this nonsense (Marxist propaganda from politicians on the left and complicit media) we’re going to see the end of civilization as we know it and the end of any individual freedoms.
“Climate Change” remains their old faithful lie, but they are clearly expanding to any and all sources of potential politics of division they can to try sow dissent.

A parabolic frog is a frog on a parabolic zero gravity flight in an aircraft. The frog is feeling queasy, disorientated and confused, just as we are after reading all that crap in the article by Erin Brunch.

Taking away cheap energy from a civilization built on cheap energy will guarantee a collapse. Except for the Lord of Chaos, nobody gets what they want in the aftermath.

Not only are they talking about, they are ACTIVELY trying to bring it about..

I think it’s really important for people to realise that

Hang on. She clearly said “Collapse of Civilization”, NOT “mass extinction event”.

We are missing a significant admission here – the world and the human race are not going to end, just ‘civilization’.

Basically a ‘leading Climate Psychologist’ has declined to support the narrative that Climate Change(tm) will destroy the earth.

That is amusing.

“We’re talking about the collapse of civilization, ” We are talking about the complete phoniness of the science assoicated with your claim. Computer models are not science. They are just that: computer models. More and more there is evidence that your ideas about radical climate change are not true. Any change in climate is natural part of earthly cycles. Besides any modeling that does not include variations in sunspot cycles is overlooking the most impactful piece of the climate picture. In the big picture of things, the sun is everything when it comes to the climate.
