Teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg pressed world leaders to cut carbon emissions at the World Economic Forum on Tuesday in Davos, Switzerland.
Thunberg, Time’s 2019 Person of the Year, spoke during a panel discussion after President Donald Trump gave a 30-minute address at the forum.
“Let’s be clear. We don’t need a ‘low carbon economy.’ We don’t need to ‘lower emissions,’” Thunberg, 17, said, according to The New York Times.

The annual gathering kicked off Tuesday at the Swiss ski resort of Davos, the highest town in Europe.
“One year ago I came to Davos and told you that our house is on fire,” Thunberg said.
“Our house is still on fire,” the Swedish climate activist added. “Your inaction is fueling the flames by the hour.”

First off, she lacks perspective. It is not that she is intellectually stunted (although she may be emotionally limited). She needs to go to poor Africa (not well off Africa) and live with the people there for 3 or 4 months to gain a little perspective.
Second, she was born to parents that lack perspective. Neither of them have ever contributed anything of substance that would justify their economic place in the world, and they are not smart enough to understand this fact. Their daughter (not dumb), knowing that they really don’t deserve what they have, can’t reconcile her guilt because of her selfishness.
Third, she is perpetually constipated so the every day is a bad grumpy miserable day.

Unless a post uses certain watched words or too many links (or comes from a known troublemakers IP address), it generally doesn’t get held up for human review. If every post had to be reviewed before showing up, you might as well not have a comments section because you couldn’t have reasonable back and forth commenting due to the time it would take for the mods to personally screen every post.
If you have a problem with a particular post, report it to the mods via the tips and notes and they’ll take the appropriate action.
WUWT is a science blog with interests in the political and other discussion surrounding climate. BH’s comment above weakens this blog as do other ugly comments that focus at this level on persons and not issues. It is unfortunate, if BH is interested in countering the Greta movement, that he weakens this site. On the other hand, if he is a troll at heart, he could not do better.

You know, I have learned so much about the toxic side of wind and solar renewables and I would be happy to have a discussion with her about it. And like her, I am not a scientist. I have however taken the time to research the affects on the environment of a technology that is being forced on us for no greater good.
Greta chose to end her incomplete education and with the backing of her parents, both in the public eye, Al Gore and a plethora of the rich and famous. She is not an ordinary teenager, nothing about her is impromptu. She is following the script and she has no desire to seek the truth. She is leading a privileged life and is enjoying being in the spotlight.
Greta holds the world stage and everything she utters is broadcast around the world. In reality she is an ignorant schoolgirl. There are people on this site that could actually provide facts and insight into the CAGW debate but they have been shut down but people who are trying to pretend there is no debate. Like I said, I know more about the truth that she does, and I didn’t finish school either.
So I suggest that you have a little sympathy for the many scientists on this site who have been gagged completely, and they are forced to listen to an ignorant child.

At no stage did I say that she was stupid, but she ‘is’ well trained. If she knew the truth about wind and solar renewables she would not be promoting their uses, she is not being given a balanced view. Wind and solar are no better for the environment than fossil fuels.

Their transport system needs steel, petroleum products for tyres. Have you seen the size of the tyres used on mining trucks. Speaking of trucks, the trucks used to transport wind turbines cost around $1.5 dollars each and they are never going to be powered by renewables.
These renewables need to be renewed on a regular basis, who’d have thunk it. Oh and on that, we still don’t have recycling in place for renewables, most of them are ending up in landfill.
