Climate change alarmists are pushing for a change in vocabulary to scare people into taking global warming more seriously, starting with terms like “global meltdown” and “climate collapse.”
Writing for AdAge this week, Aaron Hall argues that in order to get people to “take action” against climate change, “rebranding” is crucial, since people have gotten too used to the idea that climate is changing and need to be shocked into the notion that the world as we know it is ending.
Aaron steps up the rhetoric, up to eleven!
What he and his marketing team came up with was a series of much more frightening labels to stick on climate change in the hope of jolting people into meaningful engagement.
The terms “Global Meltdown” or “Global Melting,” for instance, deliver a more negative image than mere “Global Warming,” he contends. “The names signal that ice caps are melting, but also create a more visceral image in the mind — that real feeling of ‘melting’ when it’s too hot outside. A meltdown is a disastrous event that draws from the ultimate terror of a nuclear meltdown, an apt metaphor for global destruction.”
“Climate Collapse” and “Climate Chaos,” on the other hand, “instill a clear message or even a direct call to action,” Hall notes, adding that “there’s nothing neutral about collapse or chaos.”
To up the rhetoric even more, Hall proposes the weaponized term “Scorched Earth.”
Of course Mr Hall feels no shame.
Mr. Hall’s contention that it does not matter if what is said is true as long as it elicits the necessary response is reminiscent of similar assertions by leaders of the Extinction Rebellion (XR) movement.
Thomas Williams of Breitbart warns of the the opposite occurring.
While it is clearly true that “alarmist language works” in some cases, it is also true that people tend to resent being lied to and manipulated.
Like Aesop’s fable of the Boy Who Cried Wolf, climate alarmists may wake up one fine day to find that nobody believes them anymore.

Zealots operate under the principle that any means is justified by the end.

Whichever way it is put, it means ‘backwards’.
Fear of pain of loss can generate a split mind of denial and evasion such that anything and everything will be subordinated to survive in current framework of belief and appreciation of the true value of everything sacrificed for ‘getting’ out or escaping from an intolerable conflict. The projection of the feared or hated but denied experience is then WANTED to be seen in others and hated or attacked there as the way to have ‘got rid of’ something we are unready or unwilling to abide, to face or to own and thus seek healing of.
It is a kind of mind trap in which the FEAR that something is true operates AS truth by our reactive identification and usurps a direct knowing with a mind of self-evasion presented as a masking persona.
Everyone believes they can see everyone else’s faults, but this is part of the way we hide our own.
Self illusion and a true presence shared are not at all comparable. But once phished by the forms of self-illusion, the invested identity can only ‘see’ the forms and can no longer feel the presence – and so is highly active in trying to save the appearances without recognising its own relational ignorance and arrogance – because it believes what it sees as a result of the mind that gives a narrative sense of self.
This is why questioning our experience is not doubting our existence – but the looking with new eyes on our framing self-definitions.
Now what if the truth is in fact that believing is seeing?
And not a pretend or conflicted belief will give a pretend or conflicted result. And we generally use belief to mean some sort of personal identifier operating as a masking filter rather than the accepted reality we think, live and act from – and AS.

What would a re-education be, but the release of the false to the acceptance of the true?
I don’t see the truth requires belief – but it does require acceptance to be complete in your awareness – and this means releasing active belief against it. We all have ‘terms and conditions’ that are invisible to us until they are not met – and until we recognise that we automatically seek to manipulate our conditional existence by whatever strategies and abilities we are have inherited or acquired.
That we do NOT get what we want can at a profound level break our heart and mind.
But can we then allow what we thought we wanted to be brought into open awareness?
How much of what we think we want is a kind of cover story or symbol for something deeper?
Or how honest with ourselves can we trust and allow to know?
Fear of extinction can be the intuitive recognition of the undoing of our self-illusion – under the belief it is our very Life!

No. The end always justifies the means. The problem is when people rationalize going beyond what is a reasonable and justified means. Think about it.

I think these climate change lies are doing serious damage to the minds of a lot of children. Children don’t have the experience to put things in proper perspective and they hear these climate change doomsters and it scares them to death and affects the way they see the world and themselves and their future. it’s really criminal what these climate change Liars are doing to people. They are out there scaremongering without a bit of evidence to back up their climate change scare stories.
My sister does marketing for major corporations. When the testing doesn’t back up the desired ad copy, she has been told to “stretch the truth as much as you can without breaking it!” I think Aaron Hall has broken the truth.
The truth was broken back when Hansen testified before Congress.
They’ve been relabeling ever since.

The vast majority of advertising is trying to make you believe something that isn’t true.
Local councils in Britain are now being pushed into declaring ‘climate emergencies’ and councillors who decline to cooperate are being pilloried as if the declaration actually meant something. The ‘stories’ or justifying narratives are simply ‘convenient untruths’ – that work because they are targeted to underlying fear and guilt that is intolerable for most to abide. And so they seek escape by giving power to seeming power of protection and give allegiance in support of war or mass sacrifice as a sense of moral righteous necessity – that will not be called into question – for that would reinstate a COMPOUNDED revisiting of the lidded over fears and guilts. Thus the project – even when revealed to be false, is deemed TOO BIG TO FAIL by its investors.
PS The effect of such programs WAS the Cold war. It is orchestrated by the state on the people – as if between the peoples.

Most of us have some degree of rational ability gained either by study or by life experience. We know there are two sides to the climate controversy, and we intuit that in the face of uncertainty it is often best to do nothing.

Yes I know. My wife and family are from Zimbabwe (And are there right now). Trouble is, fake news sells and spreads like a rash. See comments at the SMH article all blaming climate change, never mind the fact the picture was taken from the “right” spot to make the point. From another view point, it looks normal.
Like the author, I’m also a professional namer. And I propose we rename this scam CLIMATE COMMUNISM.
