Lately, some op-eds have been questioning whether Greta Thunberg is simply a mindless puppet.

The Sun featured this GQ cover, and the parallel to the famous end scene of “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” immediately jumped out at me.
In the Sun article they say:

Svante, 50, and Malena turned vegan and bought an electric car, and in 2016 Greta convinced her mother to stop flying, which impacted her singing career.
Malena went on to back the “flight-shaming” movement that started in Sweden a year later.
Even some normally over the top climate scientists are starting to doubt her.

Back when Thailand was known as “Siam,” a little-known Buddhist temple named “Oowa Tagoo” Temple was constructed. Monks from the temple claim that even to this day, if confused people would lay prostate before the temple doors and chant the original name of the temple, they would receive a subliminal message describing their own unique problem. Perhaps Greta or anyone who follows her leadership could benefit from a trip to the temple to receive a revelation.

In Greta’s case, the goose has laid a golden egg.
Greta Thunberg was recently overheard arranging a berth for herself on a ship heading to Antarctica, on a “great berg hunt”, it was claimed. All her belongings she packed in a single rucksack – she called it her “green truth bag”. At the media send-off she trotted out robotically “the urgent brag” about impending climate disaster and coercing climate obedience from all. Some were heard muttering the term “green brat thug”, a none too complimentary epithet for the sweet climate crusader. On and on she moralised about saving the world – more than one had clearly heard it all too many times. Let “the bugger rant”, one was heard muttering.
A cousin of hers, Gareth Nutberg, was sailing with her, apparently, along with his toddler half-sisters, Grunt Hateberg and Ruth Grebegnat. Once embarked and on the open sea, certain universals of sea faring soon manifested themselves on the ship’s aft deck as alcoholic beverages appeared as if by magic and the “beer truth gang” sang loudly in out-of-tune Swedish late into the night. Shouting over this inebriated cacophony, the ship’s cook Hatter Eggburn together with the medical orderly, Reg Bungthreat, tried to give a speech about good eating and digestive health on board ship, but no-one paid much attention.
How long before there’s an animated teen girl eco-adventure flick starring Greta Toonberg?

From the angle, that at this very moment Greta happens to have become the most toxic asset in the hands of
the very Climateriat High Inquisition.
Where, which ever way it resolves next, does not seem pleasant or helpful to the Climateriat Cabal as a whole. Probably it could result to be quite painful and even possibly divisive at the end.
Let’s not do their dirty job for them.
Maybe going “nasty”, and cheering for Greta, could be more fun… 🙂
In the end Greta is just a young girl, not her fault, thus far.
And at least, she is trying, lately, to get a first hand experience with tough real life there.

If people feel that the use of fossil fuels is bad then they should stop making use of all goods and services that involve the use of fossil fuels but the ones you see in photos are not doing that. At the very least, they are wearing clothes and eating food that were moved by fossil fuel burning trucks.
Why does anyone pay attention to her? I have a 9-year-old daughter who thinks she ought to be able to tell the rest of us what we should do, too, because she thinks she is smarter and wiser than the rest of us. I give her the same amount of attention when she gets bossy as I give this spoiled little girl. Her parents should be ashamed of themselves.

I read it’s a 60 foot boat. Not small. Considering the resources employed building the vessel, and the fact it is not likely a revenue producer, one has to wonder if the carbon footprint of an airline seat would actually be less. And I’m not counting the crew who are flying over to take the boat back. That in itself screams hypocrisy. Why am I not surprised

In other Greta news, a tropical storm has suddenly popped up and is right near the location of the sailboat she is riding on.
It appears that they are currently getting favorable winds out of it though.

It appears the low is stationary at the present time and is expected to stay about where it is for several days.
But another low appears to be forming off the SE coast of Florida, and the early model runs show an uncertain track in coming days, but most seem to indicate it will not be heading into her path anytime soon.
Still, this shows the folly of this method of travel in 2019.
She could have got on a plane, and had zero net impact, as I have it on good authority that those planes are flying that route whether or not Greta is buying a ticket.
People die on the time on ships at sea during this time of year and during hurricane season in general.

Yup. By skirting Chantal’s northern edge, they enjoyed favorable winds, but now have run into cross winds and head winds again. The seas must have been rough for them, but they may dodge the second storm which could form in their path.
They could always ride following winds north to Newfoundland, then let the three adventurers travel by horse or bamboo and natural rubber bike to NYC. The horse’s tack would however present a problem, since leather comes from methane-producing animals and nylon is the devilish spawn of the evil C-molecule.
Actually, this reminds me less of the (shadow of the original) “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” and more of the children in the original “Children of the Damned.” The expressionless face, aura of robotic authoritarianism, emotionally flat affect and general childlessness of her image should elicit a feeling that most would express as “creepy.”
