My bevvy of climate zealot detractors often say that I’m washed up, and that “nobody reads WUWT anymore”. I recently got a piece of hate mail saying essentially that, so I decided to check. It’s been awhile since I did.
For anyone who frequents here, these results aren’t surprising. Lower numbers are better.

That’s because people at WUWT are interested in searching for the truth, not in trying to suppress it.
A couple years ago (based on a WUWT article), I visited Hot Whopper & the Sue sleaze (total time on site: about 10 minutes).
It was like the world’s largest clown car, filled with only varsity team village idiots.
Wow!
I know the PC answer is that I’m only here for the articles. In truth, I’m here for the pictures. Wait, this is WUWT, right?
First thing I do after breakfast. Always of interest, and so many of the comments are very interesting in their own right.

I noticed that, in the last set of rankings shown, this site was misspelled most of the time, as “What’supwiththat” and “wottsupwiththat” in particular. No wonder the rankings were as shown. This site deserves the high ranking it has received.

I visit many sites and blogs looking for insights, when work time permits. WUWT is still the best. The engineer in me gets more satisfaction out of the articles and the comments than anywhere else. A thousand thankyous for your efforts. Please keep it going.

As one Marine who sailed the oceans via the US Navy and flew around some phenomenal climate events…Mt. Etna volcano eruption, the Kuwait oil fires of Desert Storm and such, I was always a skeptic of anything man was capable of doing to alter the earth or climate on a grand scale or permanent basis….as few have any idea of the vast expanse of this earth. If the hundreds of oil wells burning millions of barrels of raw oil a day did not create a significant change to the climate almost immediately…I have cannot imagine cars and power plants, even over a period of time, doing much.
Finding WUWT was a fantastic addition to my understanding of the reports and claims related to climate change. I am sure I am one of many who sincerely appreciate the web site, the articles presented and the commentary by the “learned class”….everyone, please keep it up.

Good to see Slandering Sou is no longer appreciated as her vicious dishonest smear campaigns have only alienated the public. Likewisefor Peter Meisler’s dishonest whatsupwiththatwatts site which appears to be barely noticed. I am not sure how my landscapesandcycles.net site compares, but I would bet it gets far more views that Meisler’s.
Anthony – I understand it is late here on the Left Coast, but please accept my heartfelt congratulations and recognition for the continuing excellence of your creation, WUWT. As the Climate Wars have progressed through the years, especially throughout the ‘dark years’ of the previous presidential administration here in the US of A, I have found your site to be a constant beacon of truth, sound science, and at times the sole outlet for accuracy and honesty in a veritable sea of lies and obfuscation. As I witnessed the steady decline of my local newspaper into a leftist quagmire, I found myself drawn evermore to this site. Although the recent death of my parents and accompanying estate issues has kept me from reading and posting as much as previously, I can always count on this site to provide scientific sanity when it is most needed.

If I can go back in time a bit (really easy for me to do, I’m that old), when Climategate broke there was a huge increase in readership of many sites. I expected that all of them would see a fall off as the story aged, and that pretty much happened – except for WUWT. That was when WUWT’s readership ranking soared (yeah, yeah, the Kardashians score a lot higher) and became the go-to place for a lot of new readers.
The credit goes to Anthony and his experience as a TV met, his sense for delivering a popular,yet factual product, and his moderate tolerance of trolls and insulting people here. By the time people get banned, pretty much everyone agrees they should have been banned weeks ago.
I read you from France, with a great pleasure. Unfortunately, I live in the worst alarmist country where the propaganda is developed by all means from the state’s institutions (we have nuclear plants to sell…).

Over the last five or six years I have learnt more from WUWT than from any other site, partly because of the choice of articles and authors but, also, because so many of those who post here, who are not themselves climate scientists or even scientists, have a depth of knowledge and expertise in one, or more, particular aspects of the wide variety of subjects covered by “climate science”. Expertise that no single climate scientist can claim to match. Their scepticism arises from their knowledge that at least one pillar of the wide assumptions upon which CAGW is based does not stand up to rigorous investigation.
I have also enjoyed posts from others for the humour of their contributions. I would also thank Griff and his disciples for setting themselves up as Aunt Sallys. Even though their contributions can be mocked they show that this site, unlike RealClimate, and so many others of that ilk, does not attempt to censor debate.
CAGW has no pillars. I have recently shown that the Keeling curve is fraudulent. The next pillar to fall will be the last one and actually is the 1st one, the Vostok ice core record.
