Bill Nye brought science into kids’ lives and made us laugh. His new book, Unstoppable: Harnessing Science To Change The World, mixes science and his trademark humor to rally a new “Greatest Generation”—ours—to solve a global climate change crisis and ISIS Threat that he believes is more threatening to our survival than World War Two.
Bill Nye took that link a step further, explaining the brutality in Paris and Syria was “a result of climate change.”

Your book includes sweeping approaches to address climate change. What can individuals do that counts?
Nye: Not wasting any water bottles is good. Not leaving the lights on is good. Turning the thermostat down in the winter, up in the summer, is good. But the best thing any of us in the developed world, especially in the United States, can be doing is talking about it. It’s strangely a hard thing to talk about because it’s become so political and divisive, and people have a tendency to give up and see it as overwhelming. But I claim that it’s not.
Who would have thought – we don’t need all those nasty guns and air strikes and alliances and counter-terrorism agencies and what have you, to save Syria and the West from the barbarous horrors of Islamic State. All we need to do is make a few adjustments to our thermostats, talk about Climate Change, and make sure we drink every last drop of our bottled water.

Even ignoring the ludicrous link to terrorism, his suggestions for reducing CO2 are like telling someone not to eat the garnish on a full plate to avoid obesity. Do you think the guy has ever worked out his own CO2 foot print? I’m convinced that much of the casual alarmism is caused by people who have no idea how much energy we use or how essential fossil fuels are right now. Why not jump on a band wago if it seems to be an easy ride?
Maybe there’s method in Nye’s madness. Maybe he actually intends for the terrorists to choke to death laughing as his stupidity.
Nye is finally lose the plot.
Oh btw, stop giving the “rebels” weapons and money (Turkey Saudi Arabia NATO) if they want the war to stop. 😀
Bill Nye the Lying Doofus Guy says “the best thing we can do to address climate change is talk about it.” What he means of course, is that “we” (meaning True Believers) should proselytize about it, proclaim your True Belief to everyone, in hopes that you will both inspire others to do likewise, and, hopefully, convince non-Believers to at least start questioning their non-belief. He knows it really has nothing to do with science.

WHAT?! Hmmm….he should have run that tidbit by his bestie Nye first–then it could have said something like:
An airplane whose engine fails is the fault of climate change. A helicopter whose engine fails is a tossed water bottle. Both result in the rise of ISIS.
I cannot take this idiocy any longer. Good grief what an idiot. And I tell my kids he’s an idiot too, as they stuff his nonsense down their throats at school.
I do have to say that when it comes to illustrating physics, biology and chemistry the set designers and technical consultants on the show did an excellent job. 🙂 Nye might have pounced on the opportunity and probably started out with good intentions–but we all know where those lead. I think he embraced the motto: don’t go to hell in a Chevy a little bit too much….he’s trying for that Masaradi (sp?). LOL
You can’t tell me these guys don’t spend a LOT of time practicing their selfie faces.
Climate change obviously causes brain damage in those who have not been vaccinated with a background in critical thinking.
Like most liberals, Nye believes that history began when he was born.
The mere fact that Muslims have been killing people for the last 1400 hundred years is unimportant.
What matters is that the latest group formed only a few years ago, therefore they must have been caused by climate change.

I find this strangely racist. Why are white libs not running around cutting people’s heads off? They are in the climate too. Political correctness itself is what racism has morphed into. The idea is that white libs have broader superior backs than other groups. They also are the ones whose mission is to teach non white libs how to fish. Apparently this skill is too onerous for lesser folks to figure out for themselves. I ve watched this paternal goody goody stuff IN Africa perpetrated by missionary and Ngo /UN TYPES over decades. This form of racism is insidious. One Nigerian I met on board ship to Nigeria asked me why Bature don’t understand why Africans take their gifts with one hand and slap them on the face with the other. Seeing it first hand I have felt like slapping their superior faces too over the past 50yrs.

And Liberalism has “morphed” into intolerance, it seems to me, Just a coincidence? Science has “morphed” into blind faith in authorities . . in very similar fashion, etc, etc . . and I don’t believe it’s all just “natural” terminology/concept drift. I believe this is what Mr. Eisenhower warned about long ago, in process.

It’s a deliberate (indeed scientific) take-down of Western civilization, because it is (was anyway) antithetical to authoritarian governance. If one wonders how I could believe anyone would want authoritarian government, I suggest one start their inquiry with the question of why so many examples of it exist, and existed throughout human history . .
