WUWT at 200 Million Views

200million_viewsWhile the WUWT counter number on the right sidebar will likely hit this mark while I’m sleeping, I just wanted to give a short notice to everyone that we’ve reached this milestone. This post is automatically publishing at a time that is my “best safe guess” (4AM PDT) for when we’ll have reached that number. If it hasn’t yet, it soon will. For those who might have been refreshing the page to see if you can capture it at 200 million, you won’t; the counter display only updates every 15 minutes to save resources, and doesn’t update in real time, though it does track every “hit” (but does not count reloads).

I wish to thank everyone who has helped make this possible, the readers, the contributors, the moderators, and most importantly my long suffering family who has dealt with dad being distracted in his study far more than he should be.

For all of my detractors, who send hate mail, publish snide attack pieces, have attempted to dig through my trash, shouted “denier” in my ear on the telephone (and then hung up like the cowards they are), launched Twitter attacks, claimed I “have sex with farm animals” (thanks Mike Roddy), or ruminated rants from their parent’s basement, I thank you too. Because love it or hate it, you all read WUWT anyway and are part of the success.

My sincere thanks to all of you for making WUWT “…the world’s most viewed climate website” – Anthony Watts

P.S. The recent site upgrades I have made have resulted in significant increases in views – thanks to everyone who made suggestions for improvements and for being patient while we worked out the kinks in the new format.

P.P.S The next big thing here will be announced in a couple of days, watch for it.

200,000,000 views? OK, that sounds about right for me, plus or minus a handful. How many views for everyone else? ;o)
Congratulations to Anthony and The Mods(Doo-wop, do-waaaah…). Here’s to the next 100,000,000.

Congratulations Anthony. A big thanks to you and the moderators. I got turned on to your surface stations project when you had less than 100 stations and have been a regular reader but seldom commentator since then.

Congratulations. My earliest memory of WUWT was when it passed 5 million (I think that was the first milestone I remember).

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Well deserved!

Great job Anthony, I’m so glad I found this site. I knew those money-grabbing alarmists were up to no good and this just proves it! Thanks!

Anthony,
Yours is the blog where those climate activists who are unconvincible can expect the unceasing spotlight of open dialog.
I hope your energy level is keeping up with all that you did and are doing.

Challenge them at their own game? You have been beating them at it for a long time now!
Congratulations.

Mr. Watts. Congratulations are definitely in order! Should I have the power, I would also nominate you for the next round of Nobel Peace Prize. In my estimation you are much more deserving of the honor than those that have been “given” the award in the recent past. Personally, I have found your site a welcome outlet for my internal views on the subject of the politization of the climate issue, that given my work location I may not always be able to openly express. Your work we openly see here as well as behind the scenes has allowed the opening of many eyes through this site (including my own), and the value-added brought to the subject of CAGW/Climate Disruption/Insert Lastest Warmist Word Here and for the future of our democratic way of life cannot be underestimated. Please convey my (our collective?) thanks to your family for thier patience as you continue to work dilligently into the wee hours to provide this outlet to the masses. I come along to read the posts at least daily, and find your site a diurnal neccessity.
Again, Congratulations!

Climategate brought me here – and I’ve never left. I prodded a local newspaper columnist to come here to understand the skeptical side – he did, and now no longer files rabid alarmist posts.
You’ve flung a stone into the “pond” of climate science and the ripples continue to spread to an unknowable extent.
I thank you!

Just a note to help it bump to 300 mil.
Anthony, thank you. The site is wonderful and the changes are great. WUWT is an oasis of insight and information in a desert of inanity.
Special thanks to the Watts family for loaning us Anthony while he truly… “saves the planet.”

Soon, I hope to do far more than annoy them. I plan to challenge them at their own game.

You have piqued my curiosity. Waiting with great interest!

Not to disparage you anthony, or any of your posters, but I’d like to give a shout out to your commenters – the reason why *I* started watching this space was because the discussions here are vastly superior to the other heavily censored and poorly moderated comment spaces in warmist websites.
That being said, congratulations, anthony, for providing a space for a diverse, vibrant, intelligent community that nobody else has been able to match 🙂

Presenting the 2-millionth WUWT viewer with a rain gauge filled to the brim with BV Private Reserve would have been a nice gesture.
