We’ve seen instances of this before – wishing disaster upon humanity so that it can be used for climate propaganda. However, this tweet from Greg Blanchette sent to the attention of Michael Mann and “get a vasectomy to save the planet” guy Eric Holthaus is particularly galling.

Predictably, neither Mann nor Holthaus have said anything in their feeds against this inanity, suggesting they agree. Reading Mann’s Twitter feed is like a trip into some sort of alternate universe, where Mann’s ego is a black hole, with its gravity pulling in all rational thought and disintegrating it at the event horizon.
What does it say about climate scientists when they agree that death and destruction are a means of elevating climate communication and their cause? To me it says they are anti-human people.
The worst part of the anti-human slant of the climate alarmists is that it is contagious. We are again rapidly approaching the annual Arctic sea ice minimum. The competitive nature of predictions of the minimum has repeatedly led me to have to pull myself up short when I realized I had begun to root for ice and snow, which are in almost all situations, mortal dangers to humanity. From the nature of the comments on threads concerning this topic I am hardly the only one who falls into this trap.
Fortunately, most of the other ballyhooed “catastrophes” of the alarmists, are subverted by phenomena which are generally more benevolent for humanity, but the alarmist crowd is always trying to redefine the language and structure of the discussion, to the extent that they are willing to allow that discussion is even possible, to make sure that if we choose to attempt to argue with them. it will always be on their terms.

Seriously, I’ll never understand the mentality the AGWers have when it comes to celebrating higher temperatures and disasters. One would think they’d be enormously relieved if global warming did not happen. I guess it would only matter to them if they thought they had something to do with it.
Why vasectomy? If all fornication and adultery were eliminated, not only would fewer children be born into complete families parented by one man and one woman, but sexually transmitted diseases would be eliminated. Problem solved.

Not saying you’re wrong. However, arguably an ignorant response. The point is the impact a strong hurricane season can have on politics. The mistake is being rational.
I often hope that the next LIA, or even the next full-blown ice age, happens during the lifetime of these morons.

The difference between a scientist and a climate activist is that a climate activist will do things and say things a scientist won’t. By default a scientist cannot be an activist and vice versa. Those who claim to be both don’t understand the implication or are in denial.
It appears that Mann has an absurd self-scripted heroic mythology with himself and his associates as the righteous heroes on a sacred journey through what they see as unclean skeptical badlands blighted by capitalistic fossil fueled industrialization. It is a weird fairy tale like mythology that has them destined to reach a Garden of GAIA Paradise where he and his associates are placed on the throne of a scientific kingdom over the whole earth. Pure Hollywood grade B movie stuff.
His mythology hasn’t worked because people in the general culture have seen and distrust the pseudo-science promoted by obviously compromised CAGW activists as if it were science.

Much of the “global warming” movement shares the bed with the Malthusians thinking population should be reduced 80% to “save the planet!” They are all nuts and the facts are very simple:
CO2 is a “trace gas” in air, insignificant by definition. It absorbs 1/7th as much IR, heat energy, from sunlight as water vapor which has 188 times as many molecules capturing 1200 times as much heat making 99.9% of all “global warming.” CO2 does only 0.1% of it. For this we should destroy our economy?
The Medieval Warming from 800 AD to 1300 AD that Micheal Mann erased to make his “hockey stick” was several degrees warmer than anything “global warmers” fear. It was the longest recorded time, 500 years, of peace with great abundance for all.
The Vostock Ice Core data analysis show CO2 increases follow temperature increases by 800 years 19 times in 450,000 years. That makes temperature change cause and CO2 change effect; not the other way around. This alone refutes the anthropogenic global warming concept.
Carbon combustion generates 80% of our energy. Control and taxing of carbon would give the elected ruling class more power and money than anything since the Magna Carta of 1215 AD.
Most scientists and science educators work for tax supported institutions eager to help government raise more money for them. And, they love being seen as “saving the planet.”
Google “Two Minute Conservative,” and you will be applauded when you speak truth at your next dinner party, barbecue or church picnic.

Yes. The most serious challenge facing humanity is The Overpopulation Lie. It is a major part of why people who should know better support restrictions on fossil fuels, heedless of the loss of ALL life in order to hurt people. This lack of trust in the Universe (or God if you want), also called “scacity-think,” is what is really behind every genocide and a great many other harms.
The most famous genocide was the Nazi one. They had school children’s arithmetic lessons on how many calories a mentally retarded person ate and so on, and this feeling that there wasn’t plenty, wasn’t even enough to go around, was why they starved mental patients to death and then did the same to so many others, most famously the Jews.

It’s no secret that left wing progressives (a subset of which are CAGW climate scientists) are trying to destroy our country, so comments like this are not surprising to me. What IS surprising is that NONE of the mainstream climate scientists attempt to correct their out-of-control brethren when they make ridiculous proclamations in the main stream media.

Maybe the warmest have a little ‘ denier ‘ in them, hoping that they will be one of the lucky ones to survive. They should write self deprecating statements and list formally the sins they’ve committed against AGW. Ignoring the poverty creeping up on them and the lost ability to do anything, what ever the climate is. And as time goes by, that spanking new green on the uniforms takes on a decidedly reddish hue. Probably due to the increased co2 absorbing the infra red, and therefore they must be eliminated from causing anymore damage to the planet. The last couple of runs of that model have shifted it farther east and other models, that even have it are all east of that location. Dr. Spencer was just showing something interesting and indicated that it might not even form and could hit anywhere even if it did.
Please know that future model forecasts are likely to change the track and strength significantly so that the target could be anywhere from the Gulf to the East Coast and the strength could be anything from a tropical wave to a major hurricane early next week.
