Coldest Antarctic June Ever Recorded

Story submitted by Eric Worrall

Antarctica continues to defy the global warming script, with a report from Meteo France, that June this year was the coldest Antarctic June ever recorded, at the French Antarctic Dumont d’Urville Station.

According to the press release, during June this year, the average temperature was -22.4c (-8.3F), 6.6c (11.9F) lower than normal. This is the coldest June ever recorded at the station, and almost the coldest monthly average ever – only September 1953 was colder, with a recorded average temperature of -23.5c (-10.3F).

June this year also broke the June daily minimum temperature record, with a new record low of -34.9c (-30.8F).

Other unusual features of the June temperature record are an unusual excess of sunlight hours (11.8 hours rather than the normal 7.4 hours), and unusually light wind conditions.

Dumont d’Urville Station has experienced ongoing activity since 1956. According to the Meteo France record, there is no other weather station for 1000km in any direction.

I wonder what GISS temperature projections for the Antarctic will look like?

Magnetic Polar north has a normal variation and immigration, witch also impacts the earth.
Polar variation, 11yr cycle of the sun spots, el nino, la nina and many more natural changes in the earth will cause changes, these changes are normal, just like: Spring, Fall, Summer and Winter.

Still just more proof of Global Warming, temperatures go up, Global Warming, temperatures go down, Also Global Warming, Ice melts, Global Warming, Ice increases, that’s Global Warming too.
Have faith, Global Warming is coming, forget about the bushes that died from last winters cold that had been growing in front of your house for 60 years, Global Warming. Remember weather isn’t Global Warming, climate is Global Warming, so the weather may get cooler, but it’s still Global Warming and it’s your fault, you caused this, you have doomed all our grandchildren, because as always, Global Warming is only 35 to 50 years away.

Turn on the lights and turn up the heat. The Google translation is not great. How do I know? Because I am a terrible translator so I know a bad translation when I see one.
Rappelez-vous, ajouter de la chaleur à la terre, il est plus froid, moins il se réchauffe dans ce cas, il fait plus chaud.
My translation, “global warming makes the world cooler, unless the temperature goes up, in which case it makes it warmer.”
it sounds like it almost makes sense in French.

JP, the raw GISS data shows record cold. However, after adjusting for outliers, toe nail clippings, penguin methane, walrus blubber and polar bear droppings the data proves sauna like conditions in Antarctica with a constant temperature of 50C (122F) Pack a swimsuit and deodorant soap and leave the thermal underwear at home. I hope the Starbucks down there has an ice coffee. /sarc

Hi Kevin – I agree with your last point. However, it is just a fact that the grading you refer to is very often regarded as and communicated as a lesson observation grade
