Billionaire Tom Steyer creates fund for Climate Victims
Eric Worrall writes:
Californian Billionaire Tom Steyer has just created a fund for victims of climate related extreme weather. The new initiative is intended to be 50% funded by Tom Steyer, and 50% funded by fellow travelers.
Steyer has apparently raised the money by selling his stake in Kinder Morgan, a large Texan Oil Company. http://www.kindermorgan.com
Steyer has also been devoting significant funds to helping Democrats campaign against Republican candidates in the upcoming senate elections.
Appart from wondering whether my “climate related” tick scare might qualify for a grant http://wattsupwiththat.com/2013/01/17/one-benefit-of-the-australian-heat-wave/ , Steyer’s new fund raises an interesting question in my mind, about American Politics;
Is it OK for large amounts of oil money to be expended influencing American politics, as long as the oil money is spent on helping Democrat candidates?

I wonder if I could get some money for being a victim of daily climate abuse by Miriam O’Brien, aka “Sou/Hotwhopper”. Steyer surely has some fund for victims of crazy Internet climate stalkers 😉 – Anthony

Leftist irony never ceases to amaze and confound…
Tom Steyer giving the DEMS $100 million to appease his conscience for making $billions off the oil industry is just another example of the Immutable Law of Leftist Irony (aka ILLI).
Steyer’s $100 million will help elect more leftists, who will proceed to implement more wealth redistribution schemes (which CAGW is merely one example) that’ll cost the US economy $trillions in lost industrial output to China/India, cost millions of jobs and increase the costs of everything…
All this socio-economic damage for 0.04F of reduced global warming by 2050, if we cut CO2 emissions 30% (according to EPA’s own climate model estimates)…
Good question Dena?
I invite billionaire Tom Steyer if true would like to solve the enigma of climate change, to contribute to focus on the right place. I offer a solution for the aforementioned amount, except that the cost of research in my recipe should be borne by him or the U.S. Government. There should be a lot astronomical data to create a picture of climate change from the past, through the present and for the future. I say this because of the fact that all cycles and sub-cycles have changed its rules, which can be expressed mathematically and diagrammatically. This is a very serious offer and I think that this will ever come true, no matter who, but probably will be someone who understands what real science. If this is Mr. Tom does not read, I ask the editor of the newspaper to him that my transfer. Make a deal on all procedures to resolve this issue. If necessary, I can give you some general information as evidence that my assumption agreement with previous measurements and findings. Sunspot cycle and the real indicator, but not a causal change the appearance of the sun.
Will he fund any of the 3 percenter(?) scientist who apparently don’t buy the whole carbon dioxide is going to end life as we know it BS. People who believe science is about true facts and not about ancient witch doctor opportunism. The kind of opportunism where you pay the scammer so the bad things he is making up that wouldn’t happen anyways don’t happen. Steyer should pay people who have there careers ruined by politically motivated warmist who will not stand for any dissent in the ranks. If they allowed dissent their whole fairy tale would fall out from beneath them. Anyways it is interesting how much oil money goes into the warming debate.
The City of Chicago needs all of that money because of the coldest winter on record from December 2013 through March 2014 and all of that snow removal and climate related hardship because: polar vortex and global warming. Other than that, clever but expensive propaganda to get people to contemplate the powerful combination of victimhood, enmity and compensation.
No rain yet in June for dryland wheat farmers on the Columbia Plateau. Without late rain, the kernel don’t plump out. This is unprecedented! And extreme!
Please send money.
It got too cold here in my house this morning, and I had to turn my furnace back on. I should get some help with my heating bill. Summer is less than two weeks away!

When used as an adjective, it’s “Democratic.” Highly partisan Republicans tend to use “Democrat” as an adjective as a way of delegitimizing the Democratic Party, and signaling their far-right wing bona fides. The majority of commenters here may well be far-right wing Republicans, but not all of us are.
