The story below is from from Honolulu Civil Beat, who covered a political rally on April 15th by Gore to 9000 people in Honolulu’s Stan Sheriff Center. It is a 12,500 seat sports auditorium where his voice was amplified by, his slideshow enabled with, and his persona illuminated by and made comfortable with air-conditioning, all made possible by the “dirty energy” electricity generated by fossil fuels that he railed against.

The electricity that enabled Mr. Gore’s rally was courtesy of the oil burning power plants of the Hawaiian Electric Company, such as the HECO power plant at Kahe Point in West Oahu seen at right.
Gore himself once said in a crackpot statement: “there is no such thing as ethical oil.”
Yes, fossil fuels in the form of “dirty oil” enabled Gore to tell these people all about why they shouldn’t be using it.
But, that’s just the start of Mr. Gore’s hypocrisy. Read on.

Al Gore on Climate Change: ‘We Are Going to Win This Thing’
“The way we have to respond to this is going to require a set of changes that are beyond our routine,” he said, his voice growing to a shout. “I know that we are capable of that. Our way of life is at stake, our grandchildren are at stake, the future of civilization is at stake.”
But Gore cited two “game changers” in recent years that will help. The first is the growing realization from even climate-change deniers that something seems to be strange with the weather. The second is the exponential growth in photovoltaic solar panels, driven largely by consumer demand for lower prices.
The “barriers” to doing something about climate change are business and political interests that profit off of fossil fuels — “dirty energy that causes dirty weather.” He compared fake science from polluters stating that humans are not to blame for the climate to tobacco companies that used to hire actors to play doctors who denied cigarettes were dangerous.
“That’s immoral, unethical and despicable,” he said of both.

What. A. Liar.
Both the IPCC and Nature say there is no link between climate change aka global warming and severe weather, and so it follows about Gore’s “dirty energy” claim.
From Chapter 4 of the IPCC SREX report ( IPCC Special Report on Extremes PDF):
- “There is medium evidence and high agreement that long-term trends in normalized losses have not been attributed to natural or anthropogenic climate change”
- “The statement about the absence of trends in impacts attributable to natural or anthropogenic climate change holds for tropical and extratropical storms and tornados”
- “The absence of an attributable climate change signal in losses also holds for flood losses”
Nature’s editorial last year dashing alarmist hopes of linking extreme weather events to global warming saying:
Better models are needed before exceptional events can be reliably linked to global warming.
If Hawaii is like the rest of the United States, then Mr. Gore just insulted not only those of us who have technically based doubts about his claims, but a good portion of the average population that doesn’t agree with him according to Gallup polling.
Environmental worries seem to be a thing of the past:

Source: http://www.gallup.com/poll/167843/climate-change-not-top-worry.aspx
And here’s what Gallup discovered about how people view global warming:

Source: http://www.gallup.com/poll/167879/not-global-warming-serious-threat.aspx
And Yale gets similar results:
-
About half of Americans (51%) say they are “somewhat” (38%) or “very worried” (15%) about global warming.
-
Fewer than half of Americans (38%) believe they personally will be harmed a “moderate amount” or a “great deal” by global warming. By contrast, majorities believe that global warming will harm future generations of people (65%) and plant and animal species (65%).
“Our findings show that the public’s understanding of global warming’s reality, causes, and risks has not improved and has, in at least one important respect, gone in the wrong direction over the past year,” said researcher Ed Maibach, PhD, of George Mason University. “Better public communication about global warming is needed now more than ever.”
So, when Al Gore says ‘We Are Going to Win This Thing’, he’s just preaching to the few that still believe him. Everybody else has moved on.
So while Mr. Gore calls climate skeptics (which seems to be the majority of the population these days) ‘Immoral, Unethical and Despicable’ I take comfort in the fact that unlike Mr. Gore, at least we don’t take Al Jazeera & tobacco money to pad our lifestyle while telling others how to live theirs.

as the co2ers like to say ‘he’s not a climate scientist’.
bearing false witness is Immoral, Unethical and Despicable. Only a useful idiot would believe and parrot predictions from unverified models that cannot recreate past climate?
No doubt Al just walked across the Pacific to get there form his seaside home on the mainland.
He’d have been a hypocrite if he resorted to fossil-fuel powered aeroplane or boat.
😉
An enormous federal excise tax should be applied to all tourism proceeds in Hawaii.
Other than those tourists who arrive in the islands by sail, paddle, drift raft, or other “carbon-neutral” methods of travel.
It’s for the sake of the planet. Surely the permanent residents of Hawaii will agree.
It must give the poor old guy some comfort to know that a few people will turn out to cheer and clap him wherever he goes.
As an aside, I wonder if anyone has seen the contract for this?
Who are these d@niers of whom you speak? co2 is a weak GHG and this has been measured accurately for 150 years. Has anybody noticed any change in weather though? 0.3C is about the variation between different beaches in Sydney. I haven’t noticed more cyclones in Manly than Cronulla or droughts endemic to one.
I have noticed that extreme weather is more visible. In the 1970s when they had large typhoons that dwarf today’s, we didn’t get live footage of each on TV or on computers. My telephone didn’t show me typhoon Tip.
Gore still peddling his doomsday cult? Funnily not one of his doomsday predictions have been right. Still, people like a trier.
Al Gore On the 13th of December 2008,: “Entire north polar ice cap will be gone in 5 years”
http://wattsupwiththat.com/2008/12/14/gore-entire-north-polar-ice-cap-will-be-gone-in-5-years/
Al how much does one have to pay to be one of the saved? Do you give a money back guarantee if not completely satisfied?
What would the psychologists make of someone who keeps making bogus predictions? Would that be ‘crying wolf’? which is classed as a type 1 error
“A type I error, also known as an error of the first kind, occurs when the null hypothesis (H0) is true, but is rejected. It is asserting something that is absent, a false hit. A type I error may be compared with a so-called false positive (a result that indicates that a given condition is present when it actually is not present) in tests where a single condition is tested for. Type I errors are philosophically a focus of skepticism and Occam’s razor. A Type I error occurs when we believe a falsehood.[4] In terms of folk tales, an investigator may be “crying wolf” without a wolf in sight (raising a false alarm) (H0: no wolf).” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_positive#Type_I_error
Thus it is rational and in science valid [ie not ‘a conspiracy’] for others to become skeptical about the sayings of someone who demonstrates they are crying wolf.
Why does anyone at all listen to this idiot anymore????
Does Al cry wolf?
as the judge said on Al’s film
http://www.bailii.org/cgi-bin/markup.cgi?doc=/ew/cases/EWHC/Admin/2007/2288.html&query=title+%28+dimmock+%29&method=boolean
“It is built round the charismatic presence of the ex-Vice-President, Al Gore, whose crusade it now is to persuade the world of the dangers of climate change caused by global warming. It is now common ground that it is not simply a science film – although it is clear that it is based substantially on scientific research and opinion – but that it is a political film, albeit of course not party political.”
“so that the Armageddon scenario he predicts, insofar as it suggests that sea level rises of 7 metres might occur in the immediate future, is not in line with the scientific consensus.”
“Mr Gore states “that’s why the citizens of these Pacific nations have all had to evacuate to New Zealand”. There is no evidence of any such evacuation having yet happened. ”
“Mr Gore shows two graphs relating to a period of 650,000 years, one showing rise in CO2 and one showing rise in temperature, and asserts (by ridiculing the opposite view) that they show an exact fit. Although there is general scientific agreement that there is a connection, the two graphs do not establish what Mr Gore asserts. ”
“it is common ground that, the scientific consensus is that it cannot be established that the recession of snows on Mt Kilimanjaro is mainly attributable to human-induced climate change. ”
and it goes on with more examples
so he crys wolf.. To be a skeptic is rational.
“The first is the growing realization from even climate-change deniers that something seems to be strange with the weather …”
Has it been raining frogs and toads in Hawaii recently?
I once lived next door to a senior wind farm engineer who had drunk the cool-aid on global warming (or claimed he had).
So I asked “given that you think CO2 emissions are causing dangerous warming, how can you justify owning a motorboat? Surely that qualifies as an unnecessary source of CO2, if anything does?”.
He replied that he thought it was OK, because the good he did in his day to day job more than made up for the luxuries he allowed himself.
I wonder if this is what Al Gore tells himself whenever he steps onto an airliner?
Al Gore, Gro and several others helped set up the UNEP/UNFCCC/IPCC scheme. The real Agenda is international Marxism trough a climate treaty and UNEP Global Government.
Maybee he is hoping to become the first undemocratic elected President of Earth?

“Mr Gore states “that’s why the citizens of these Pacific nations have all had to evacuate to New Zealand”. There is no evidence of any such evacuation having yet happened.”
Yup! He did say that. So peoples in Pacific (Thay ocean was named such for a reason) nations have to migrate to New Zealand because of a minute risk of sea level rise/climate change to a country with significant risk of volcano erruptions and earth quakes. How many people died in Pacific nations due to sea level rise/climate change? Zero! How many people died in the Christchurch earth quake 2011? 185! Al Gore’s “best” advice as usual.
History will ultimately judge Al Gore as one of the greatest hypocrites ever.
I hope they didn’t pay for a ticket to hear him. So longer as they pays, he is happy. Evacuate to New Zealand? Maybe they would be enthralled by the scenery due to Jackson and the wonderful trilogies of Lord of the Rings, and the last two The Hobbit. I must admit I was confused by the last one. But he is so off beat, how can he be believed anymore, only by naive people I suspect.
I am “Immoral, Unethical and Despicable,” am I?
Shall we go through your life, Mr. Gore, and compare it with my life, point by point?
I don’t think you want to go there.
Do I have expectations that Climate Change will threaten my way of life?”
I don’t need ‘expectations’. It already has.
My electricity bill has gone up. I can’t buy 100w incandescent lightbulbs any more. In the UK, both the Water and Energy infrastructures are close to collapse. My ‘way of life’ is certainly impacted already.
But I don’t think that this is what they were asking…
I’d dance on a table and bark like a dog if someone was willing to pay me a six figure sum to do it. Gore has simply performed for 9000 other hypocrites. Sounds like they got their money’s worth.
[snip more crap from “Doug Cotton” under a fake name – Anthony]
It’s amazing that more than 1% of Hawaii would listen to AL Gore.
Dodgy geezer as an ex patriot I once complained about the cost of coal! Five pounds a hundred weight. But in Australia we generally don’t need to heat homes much, but in various places, like where I live, wood smoke has been banned in urban areas, and the only alternative is oil, gas or electricity heating.
But – I am a green, and mean. Remembering how cold it was in UK, I use an electric blanket and my son and I don warm underwear and a wooly jumper. And we use the sun to warm the house during day time. We have acclimatised well actually and live on an elevated position of a valley when the frost and cold go downwards. The only time we put on a two bar electric fire and put my whippet in a sheepskin coat is when we have visitors who come from warmer climes, and also my champion whippet has hardly any fat or coat to keep her warm. We usually say as whippet owners, if you can’t find your whippet look under the doona. Summer or winter.
The thing is in Australia and particularly on the Northern Tablelands of NSW where I live, the day time temps can fluctuate greatly from day time to night time, sometimes 20C in winter. But as soon as the sun comes up if it does, the temps warm up. In some areas in Armidale the temps do drop to minus 15 on occasions, but that is rare, and at most it gets to minus 3C where I am situated. If it gets that hot during the day, rarely over 30 C, we leave off clothes, drink a lot of H20 or beer, and have cold showers. If that doesn’t work we turn on the electric fans, making sure we cover our tummys in the night. Gosh people who have not been able to acclimatise must be very sad. You adapt biologically and environmentally.
They didn’t pay to listen to his drivel; they paid to stay or move up in the crony hierarchy of the Obama regime.
I had a government sponsored energy assessor come around and left me some low voltage long lived globes, I had a special shower cap, and he left me a shower timer that didn’t work, and special adapter with multiple plugs, that didn’t work. He looked at my last bill and said, you water usage is high, maybe you should change to solar. My hot water usage was only $73.00 for 12 weeks, and some was off peak and cheaper rates. Gosh, if I paid out 5,000 dollars on only hot water solar heating, or on lighting, it would be a waste of time, even with subsidies.
Anyway getting off the topic, but agree my electricity bill has increased somewhat, and luckily, the Salvation Army through government handouts, do give pensioners $500 a year in vouchers to help pay for it. I take full advantage of that.
Please, how can this pathetic person even have a voice? Is he so filled with hatred after his election bid that he lost.? So that he is willing to derail every one’s else’s lives? He should be put in shackles!. I really mean this, this guy is sick !! The CO scam has done more damage to our world than any tornado, cyclone, hurricane and storm surge. I know most readers know about the thousands of Brits that were killed during the last 2 winters because of the lack of coal to heat their own homes but this is becoming sickening .
And btw this squeezing of heating supplies for the elderly is happening in the USA and other countries as well. But the shutting down off the coal industry in the UK is criminal. I hope one day the politicians that supported it will go to jail! I am sorry for the rant Anthony and sorry guys, I know this is not the forum but I had to let go . I have family in the EU they are suffering because of these asinine politicians., you know the ones that have secretaries , cabs, planes, etc just waiting for them, add in the free meals and I can go on. And I am a conservative person.
Fu Them ALL.( apologize again).
I’m guessing that All didn’t arrive in Hawaii in a rowing boat ?
