Clinton wants ‘mass movement’ on climate change

By KEN THOMAS Associated Press

TEMPE, Ariz. — Hillary Rodham Clinton says young people understand the significant threat of climate change and that she hopes there will be a mass movement that demands political change.

The potential 2016 presidential candidate says at a Clinton Global Initiative University panel that young people are much more committed to doing something to address climate change. Clinton says it isn’t “just some ancillary issue” but will determine the quality of life for many people.

The former secretary of state cited global warming as a major issue that students could face in the future.

She made the comments Saturday during an interview with late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel at Arizona State University.

===============================================================

Readers may recall WUWT’s recent report of the recent Gallup Poll and how climate fared.

New Gallup poll shows climate change near the bottom of things worth worrying about

worrying_topics

This is very similar to the survey showing Europeans worrying a lot more about almost all other issues than global warming, https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152349665523968

And, environmental worry now is even lower that when Climategate happened in 2009, and is the lowest in over a decade:

Americans' Worry About the Environment Over Time

Source: http://www.gallup.com/poll/167843/climate-change-not-top-worry.aspx

And here’s what Gallup discovered about young people:

Source: http://www.gallup.com/poll/167879/not-global-warming-serious-threat.aspx

The majority of the 18-29 year-olds, 57 percent, don’t see global warming/climate change  as a serious threat to their way of life.  And, that thinking holds the majority of opinion across the board of age groups.

Clinton’s opinion on this is just more empty-headed rhetoric with no basis in fact.

And why not?
It worked for Obama 2 terms of profiting from the gullibility of a poorly educated but highly brainwashed youth.
Having successfully fooled them twice and gifted them with all the cost and none of the gain, why would Democrats not go for the trifecta?
They still give Obama an approval rating in the 40s no?
This gives Hillary high hopes.
40% crusted on fools, means she only has to fool 10-20% to win.

Saw this article this A.M. Idd says it all about politicians (note we put them there):

Oh Hillary – what difference does it make any way?
In other news….Liars lie.”

Climate Change campaign would in her case be just a way of saying “Squirrel!”.
For Al Gore, it was at least an honest campaign to become super rich.

Hillary wants a bunch of young people to work on her campaign. A whole movement even.
And one doesn’t get the Democratic nomination unless one is 100% behind climate justice.
And then one doesn’t get elected President unless one does not even mention climate justice in the campaign after the nomination.

A flaw inherent in the young is that they don’t have the memories of the old.
Lies and deception are nothing new.
The first time I was eligible to vote, I was going to vote for McGovern.
I’ve leaned a few things since then.

Just as the youth of Germany during the 1930’s were taught to believe in the inferiority of blacks and Jews, So are the youth of today in America taught to believe in the “settled science” of global warming.

I’m 90 years young this week and I believe Hillary is too old to understand that Earth is now threatened with global cooling. This can be far more treacherous than nonsensical, incorrect theories about global warming..

As usual some sort of action is the matter, not what it is about.
I thought, given the importance, that she could have told what sort of action would be the better.

Michaelwiseguy is spot on about the youth and privacy concerns. Rand Paul got a standing ovation at Berkeley the other day talking about it. He may ride that horse all the way to the oval office.

She’s an effing idiot who values power over an intelligent understanding of how things work. I would love to see a female president–Walsingham’s Elizabeth comes to mind–but electing Hillary Clinton will bring in the disastrous economic policies that her hubby used that created the eventual Sept 2008 crisis. She, absolutely, cannot be elected. She will hammer in the nails that Obama and his idiotic sidekick Jacob Lew have left to be hammered.

I’ve got a “movement” for Hillary!

March 23, 2014 1:42 pm

Thanks, A. It’s good news.
Pat Frank, I could not agree more. If people keep on believing, we will be in real trouble; cold and poor. This will make a difference.

I imagine Benghazi ranks higher on everyone’s list than climate change!

She wants to see a “mass movement” on climate change. I wonder what sort of mass movement she’s envisioning. Because it smacks of some sort of “people’s revolution”, similar to bolshevism.

I am kinda shocked that even though the progressofascists have taken over the educational system, this was the best they could do? thank god for the tendency for youth to rebel against “the man”…. it may be the only thing to save us from the fascists!

Hillary is trying to whip up a bandwagon–as are other similar last hurrahs.
(I suspect one reason the Democrats are making such a noise about this issue is to remove the traction a Green Party spoiler candidate might have in 2016.)

Politicians have learned that comedians are even softer interviewers than so called journalists.

Young people are idealists, just as they have always been.
That does not mean they are right.
On the other hand, older people remember that all these nasty things happened before, and can put it all into perspective.
In the 1970’s, proper scientists, backed by the UN, knew that a colder climate caused all sorts of climatic problems.

More drivel from a politician whose thinking only confirms their disconnect from what is real. Much more to the point for our children’s future is the complete mess politicians and their apparatchiks in the bureaucracies are making of life, not least the lack of a coherent strategy for the economy that will help encourage business and jobs to stay in America. What is needed Ms Clinton is work for the future citizens of the US so they can build a life, it being their output and the wealth it creates that will prevent the collapse of the nation into a cesspit of hopelessness, the destination already for far too many. The US has been fortunate that despite the resistance of much of what passes for government the costs of energy has declined thanks to the inventiveness of those in the private sector. Instead of Mr Obama trying to take credit for this lets us have some honesty and see those who achieved this gain get the kudos. Beyond this it is about time Congress showed some grip on the issues that face America. Start by getting rid of the EPA!!

When the answer to *every* problem is “more power and control,” I suspect the goal is not actually to solve individual problems, but to obtain more power and control.
Chad Wozniak
I’ve read it somewhere else, so it’s not mine, but it’s pretty accurate:
The strategy of the progressives: let’s double down on the policies that brought a city or country to the abyss. Their grand designs didn’t work because they didn’t have enough power or control. They always want more. Then their policies still don’t work, and they blame conservatives.

Democrats are trying whatever they can to try and influence the mid-term elections. At this stage, they’re looking at a tidal wave of defeat. If they do indeed get defeated, around the time of the presidential elections, they’ll be an inquiry into Benghazi (instigated by the Reps of course) and that’ll sling enough mud to take Hillary out of the field.
