CNN mocks Greenpeace's "Save Santa's Home" video

An urgent message from Santa

These green people never seem to learn. A couple of years ago it was nutball David Suzuki and his fundraising drive to “save” Santa’s home from melting:

Now, not to be outdone in the “please send money cuz Santa’s home is dying” meme,  Greenpeace has produced a video that looks like a cross between the Blair Witch Project and Doomsday Preppers. Only one problem: it is so stupid even CNN is mocking it. Watch:

CNN has this story from Jeanne Moos that rips into Greenpeace for this video.

Moos characterizes the alarmists at Greenpeace and elsewhere as folks who “believe in global warming.”  Their tendency to embrace human-caused climate doomsday scenarios (like Bad Santa hiding from climate change in the bunker) is akin to a religious belief, unaffected by the reality of observations and data.

In the CNN video, Moos quoted a commenter at the YouTube post of the Greenpeace video who wrote:

Hope that you are proud of yourselves green piece (sic) for scaring innocent children with your bully boy tactics as usual.

That’s right. CNN cited a critic of Greenpeace in its story. That represents amazing progress for truth (if not grammar) in MSM coverage of the climate issue.

Here’s another taste of Moos’ CNN-approved mockery of Greenpeace and what she said was a “sorry excuse for a Santa”:

It looks like a hostage video, but instead of Al Qaida, it’s Santa.

Ouch!

The kicker: When you put an email address into the website that Greenpeace is pitching in the video http://www.savesantashome.org/ it immediately becomes like the Obamacare website, asking for more personal information:

Greenpeace_mail_ask

I wouldn’t wish being stuck in Greenpeace’s marketing database on my worst enemy.

Dude said he wrote a letter to Presirunt Obama. I doubt it, but what if…
What if said letter was written in such a way that it stroked our flusterclucked sorry excuse for a commander in chief’s ego, and he bought into and promoted this abomination?
He’s just stupid enough to go for it.

I like Jeanne Moos. She has a very sarcastic style. I know she is on a very short leash based upon her masters at CNN, but I love her reports.
=======================================================
Well a new guy, Jeff Zucker, has been brought in by CNN/HNN to save the rapidly sinking ship. Seems viewers (the ultimate masters) have CNN on a “…very short leash…”; i.e., they’re departing in droves.
I’d love to know what impact the captive airport & non-US hotel room audience has on CNN’s ratings.

As explained in a 1994 essay written by Patrick Moore, a co-founder of Greenpeace, excerpted at
http://wattsupwiththat.com/2013/11/08/nzclimate-truth-newsletter-no-320/#comment-1470144
“Surprisingly enough the second event that caused the environmental movement to veer to the left was the fall of the Berlin Wall. Suddenly the international peace movement had a lot less to do. Pro-Soviet groups in the West were discredited. Many of their members moved into the environmental movement bringing with them their eco-Marxism and pro-Sandinista sentiments.”
This is why global warming mania has become the New Religion – it appeared just in time to replace the discredited Old Religion of Global Socialism, and adherents of the Old Religion actually expropriated the Environmental Movement, now rudely but accurately referred to as the Watermelon Movement.
For more than a decade, honorable climate scientists have been arguing that the “the science is NOT settled” and have patiently pointed out the fatal flaws in global warming alarmism. They were largely swept aside, ignored and vilified. Several honorable academics (four that I know of) have lost their academic posts. Several have received death threats. Some were actual victims of violence.
We have experienced these brown-shirt tactics in the past and they work, since they effectively intimidate the less honorable and enlist the less intelligent.
We knew decades ago that global warming alarmism was wrong. We confidently stated in 2002:
[PEGG, reprinted in edited form at their request by several other professional journals , the Globe and Mail and la Presse in translation, by Baliunas, Patterson and MacRae]
http://www.apegga.org/Members/Publications/peggs/WEB11_02/kyoto_pt.htm
On global warming:
“Climate science does not support the theory of catastrophic human-made global warming – the alleged warming crisis does not exist.”
On green energy:
“The ultimate agenda of pro-Kyoto advocates is to eliminate fossil fuels, but this would result in a catastrophic shortfall in global energy supply – the wasteful, inefficient energy solutions proposed by Kyoto advocates simply cannot replace fossil fuels.”
I suggest that our two above statements are now demonstrably true, within reasonable probabilities.
I also wrote in an article in the Calgary Herald published on September 1, 2002, based on a phone conversation with Paleoclimatologist Dr. Tim Patterson:
On global cooling:
“If (as I believe) solar activity is the main driver of surface temperature rather than CO2, we should begin the next cooling period by 2020 to 2030.”
I expect that global cooling will be a reality by 2020, and may have already started. The Watermelons have already begun their retreat from global warming hysteria, and have moved on to “climate change” alarmism and “sustainability”, their new mantras to achieve greater political power.
In fact, these disreputable people have discredited true environmentalism with their false alarm. There remain real environmental issues that need to be addressed. Catastrophic humanmade global warming is NOT one of them.
Repeating from 2002:
“Climate science does not support the theory of catastrophic human-made global warming – the alleged warming crisis does not exist.”
Regards to all, Allan

Not saying Zucker is any different than whom ever he replaced – just making the point that the sound of no one clapping is deafening, even in the CNN board room…

It must be serious, not only have penguins not been seen on any Arctic webcam this winter, but Santa’s grotto cannot be seen there either. Perhaps it is already too late.
Santa should have read my last letter and moved permanently to his home in lapland, where he entertains thousands of children every year.
Honestly, WTF is greenpeace actually trying to achieve with that utterly repellant and ridiculous video? Preaching to the braindead converted, sure, but people who are that braindead and hard of thinking, either donate to greenpeace already, or are so thick that they fail to earn money with which to donate at all.

Yup, that’s child assault pure and simple. Religious grooming and anyone who encourages or forces children to watch this filth should be shunned by all those who have a working moral compass.

Why on Earth would Greenpeas want to save Santa?!? He runs counter to their agenda!
1. He not only fulfills, but encourages the evil consumerist desires of people.
2. He puts ‘the mined commodity that must not be named’ in the stockings of those who are naughty! (And let’s face it: the wool-cap sporting, reggae-lovin’ neckbeards at Greenpees think humans in general are naughty.)
3. He bathes.
If anything, I would think Greenshirts would be pushing FOR his capture. Santa would then be released at the following year’s Burning Man, but only after signing a non-aggression pact against Gaia.
Namaste.

“Meanwhile, Arctic sea ice is within 1 standard deviation of normal:”
Haven’t we spend the last five years arguing that there is not such thing as “normal”? It seems a bit disingenuous to now claim it is normal when the number are swinging the other way.

I do not know what Santa you are talking about. Our Santa lives in Spain or actually in Turkey. He has a number of black knights around him. This became recently a reason for the UN to correct the Netherlands because of intolerable discrimination of black people. The UN officials had even the small details wrong because these knights have a strange soot colour. We could have told them that they get this colour when they descend through our chimneys in order to deliver presents to the children.

Rate of melting has slowed already. Largely due to Suzuki’s efforts to save Santa last year, no doubt. 😉

Oh boy.
The number of sunspots correlates to the sun’s energy output, which, over a period of time, impacts climate. On a rotating earth, this phenomena does not stop just because the sun has set…
Oh, never mind.

On the other hand the Earth First Hunger Games cult would not allow Santa Claus to feed his rain deer due to the CO2 emissions resulting.
On the bright side we are very lucky that Al Gore is such an easy fraud to recognize together with the huge mass to see it easy.
Hope and Change is not that much to hang the hat of Climate Change wealth redistribution on also.
There be good things if you think it through.
