Our rebuttal of Al Gore’s 24 hours of Climate Reality aka the Gore-a-thon is On-The-Air. Josh is leading the charge chortles. We’ll have a new Josh cartoon, along with commentary, graphs and links every hour starting at 5PM PST to match the starting time of the CRP. They appear below this post.
You can watch the live video presentation here, I urge everyone to do so (because after hour 4 it is starting to look like a massive dud, Al needs the help) and to make notes about it during the appropriate hour. Alternate video link here at Ustream.

UPDATE: The Climate Reality project has released two videos hyping the event. It appears they’ll be smearing some of what is in the videos.

Considering the theme, 24 hours of Reality, I think all skeptics should put a flag out or wear a t-shirt with the text:
“I’m a Skeptic and I’m Proud!”
CO2 is Plantfood, not a Pollutant.
Oil and Coal bring Prosperity and Warmth.
Stop the RedGreen anti-science of AGW and get REAL!”

Quasi-subliminal, semi-hypnotic messages don’t work with intelligent, rational, sceptical people. However for those who are susceptible, propaganda presented in a suggestible way is thought to be more effective in promoting a negative message rather than a positive one.
So implanting ideas that the world is doomed and to save it people must send money will hook a lot of gullible idiots.

Gotta give Al Gore credit for having an incredibly powerful stride – despite being pretty comprehensively discredited, he continues marching on touting the message as though his credibility had actually increased rather than demonstrably decreased…
I’m not a Goreacrat or a Gorelican, I don’t get any checks from Big Oil or Big Coal, I’m a skeptic, and according to Al I’m a denier, but it’s not my fault….WUWT?
Oh, perhaps I misread Al. Meet the New Normal Gore. If that doesn’t work, we’ll soon soon be looking at the Post Normal Gore.

The flailing and screaming of Gore, Hansen, Gavin S., Jones, Pachari, Trenbert, Mann and company has served to dispell any remaining doubt I had that this is a scam. I would not trust this gang with a penny. They are destroying any credidibility climate science had.
Those who are of the avid FB and/or twittering-kind might want to take appropriate precautions considering the following (which I had previously posted in S&B story goes viral a few days ago, but which seems appropos here, for those who might have missed it):
The fallout from Wagner’s ludicrous resignation seems to have buried any scrutiny of Al Gore’s latest and greatest attempt to “win the conversation” using (according to Matt Nisbet) “a potentially innovative if not also troubling strategy” to spread the gospel word during his planned Sept.14 “climate crisis” propaganda blitz.
Gore’s “friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your account keys” plea is tantamount to a plan to spam via Twitter and Facebook using the accounts of his dedicated followers.
As Charlie Martin wrote (Aug. 26):
YMMV, but this strikes me as being a highly unethical “strategy” on the part of the Gore machine that deserves some MSM attention and scrutiny.
