The 24 hour Gore-a-thon on WUWT

UPDATE: All of the Gore-a-thon posts and cartoons are now available in the Climate Fail Files page here

If you noticed a change in the header, this is why.

Our rebuttal of Al Gore’s 24 hours of Climate Reality aka the Gore-a-thon is On-The-Air. Josh is leading the charge chortles. We’ll have a new Josh cartoon, along with commentary, graphs and links every hour starting at 5PM PST to match the starting time of the CRP. They appear below this post.

You can watch the live video presentation here, I urge everyone to do so (because after hour 4 it is starting to look like a massive dud, Al needs the help) and to make notes about it during the appropriate hour. Alternate video link here at Ustream.

Here’s the trailer advertising it:

If you run a blog, we hope you’ll participate and use the content. If you don’t have a blog, get one for free here and join in the fun using the free content we’ll provide.

All good clean fun of course. While we have some great ideas for the program, WUWT readers often come up with some great ones too. Luboš Motl has some fun ideas already.

Ideas and discussion welcome below.

UPDATE: The Climate Reality project has released two videos hyping the event. It appears they’ll be smearing some of what is in the videos.

Of course, they are asking for money, a minimum of $10 after viewing them. They write with the mass email:

While some folks have told us these aren’t exactly family fare, we think they make a point that’s long overdue. And you can help make sure that everyone who you think can handle them, sees them.

We are planning an online ad buy — but we need your help to reach as many people as possible. Will you donate $10 to get this message out?

http://forms.climaterealityproject.org/ad-donate

Your donation will help us spread the Climate Reality message in a unique and effective way. Tell the world: The climate crisis is not a debate. It’s reality. And the time to take action is not the future — it’s right now. The fat lady has sung.

Watch the videos and make a donation today. Anything you give makes a difference:

http://forms.climaterealityproject.org/ad-donate

The time to act is now. The denial has hit the fan.

Thanks,

Alex Bogusky

Chief Marketing Officer

The Climate Reality Project.

WUWT readers may recall that Mr Bogusky is the “interviewer” for Al Gore’s recent racist slur against climate skeptics.

Joshua over on Climate Etc is suggesting that Anthony Watts is the Al Gore of climate skeptics!!
Right, because it always helps your cause to admit that it is a scam, then claim that your critics must be doing the same thing….well, at least at Head Start and other elite Universities.

Looking at the live stats
8 moderators
15 viewers (logged on)
101 guests
not a very good showing
Most of the comments appear to be just disruptive.

Having lasted a minute(max) aghast at the coordinated Q and A script of made up bimbos I suggest that today’s crisis is what to do with the overflowing puke bucket….

WUWT’s “coverage” of the Gore-a-thon is most excellent.
I can feel the warmth of the millions of degrees hot Earth’s core on my feet.
Humorous and enlightening here while Gore is depressing and confusing.
Keep up the good work.

Meanwhile…
GLOBAL warming has turned a vast area of Greenland “green,” a new edition of the world atlas showed today.
Cartographers working on the latest edition of The Times Comprehensive Atlas Of The World had to rub out 15 percent of ice on the world’s largest island.
Their work charts the retreat of once-permanent ice cover, reflecting the retreat of Greenland’s glaciers in the past 12 years in the face of a warming climate.
In the 13th edition of the atlas, the map makers include a new island off the coast of Greenland, named “Warming Island” or Uunartoq Qeqertoq.
This appeared as a separate piece of land several miles long as the ice melted and is now large enough to be shown on the map.

Is it over yet? I took the last 24 hours opportunity to bury my head in the sand as I felt it would be matching what Al Gore is really doing, most of the time.
Did the weather really do a Gore effect?

The Weather Channel had a segment promoting Gore’s 24 hour dealio this morning.

And with the rate of Sea Level Rise slowing to near Zero, it would appear that the advent of Worldly Climate Perfection is at hand! And the endangered Warming Models can finally return to their Historic Home!

I just caught 20 minutes of the segment from New Delhi. It is really sad. It is in fact worse, IMHO, that Al’s abysmal movie. It is really sad to see scientists misrepresent reality so egregiously. I switched off when the arguments by authority started to flow.

Funny how “money drives skeptics” and the warmists are always the ones with their hands out.

I just had a quick look into CR and my computer stuffed up, so I won’t be trying again! I am enjoying Josh’s carttons though…

I watched 5 minutes. Made me sick to my stomach.
One thing I caught was that they (according to the prof from San Jose) were looking for a mascot…to represent the movement. A mascot like Smokey the Bear. How about a mascot that really does mean something that everyone will relate to? Homage to AlGore…

Here are my suggestions should you encounter this guy dressed in his commando suit who says he is looking for manbea…er…climate change:
Don’t make eye contact.
Change the subject to something less stimulating.
Talk rapidly and quietly about how you are doing, don’t ask how he is doing.
Arrange for a mid-date “call” on your cell.
Walk away side ways continuing to talk, and never with your back to him.
Continue to talk pleasantly about yourself as you walk away.
End with a quick and pleasant good by and then get far away quickly.
Avoid any further contact.
And for heaven’s sake, don’t make contact with any of his friends or associates.
Practice your exit plan regularly.

I can tell from the TV and cable media that Al Gore is really having an effect, which seems to be nothing.

Does The Time print a summer and a winter atlas?
Why does everyone pretend that Arctic ice is static?
