Our rebuttal of Al Gore’s 24 hours of Climate Reality aka the Gore-a-thon is On-The-Air. Josh is leading the charge chortles. We’ll have a new Josh cartoon, along with commentary, graphs and links every hour starting at 5PM PST to match the starting time of the CRP. They appear below this post.
You can watch the live video presentation here, I urge everyone to do so (because after hour 4 it is starting to look like a massive dud, Al needs the help) and to make notes about it during the appropriate hour. Alternate video link here at Ustream.

UPDATE: The Climate Reality project has released two videos hyping the event. It appears they’ll be smearing some of what is in the videos.

How true – Gore’s “denial” of the magnitude of how “climate” has been driven by natural variations over for 1000s and millions of years is now being exposed.
Every time a green forest is converted to a black field, we obviously have “anthropogenic global warming”. Measuring the magnitude of all “anthropogenic” vs natural “forcings” is now the challenge.

Seriously? You’re comparing Gore’s carbon Empire, for which he gets paid $140 grand a pop just to go and bloviate about, not to mention untold millions made in the completely bogus carbon market, etc. etc., with Anthony simply trying to recoup some of the costs of running the biggest and by far most popular science blog? Mr. Al Gore, I am 42 years old and live in the same small town of my birth. Please bring all the experts and scientists you can, straight away, to my house. It seems, here of all places, we have avoided AGW for 42 years. The climate is the same as it was when I was a boy, and the same as when my father was a boy (he grew up here too). So, we’ve got some secret force protecting us from AGW. Or is 80 years to short a period to make such a statement? Okay, how’s this: I’m 6th generation from this same county. No climate change to note. Sure, sometimes it’s hotter, sometimes it’s colder. Sometimes it rains a lot, sometimes there’s a drought. But we have books and letters, newpapers and Christmas cards that record the climate in snapshots, in line and in verse. It’s the same old “same old” here in Small Town, U.S.A. Looking forward to a nice snappy cold winter!

Ok. I don’t know anything about this event except I heard about it while basking in my pool on Sunday. The temperature was in the high 70’s F. Recalling the Gore effect, I immediately got out and started draining it to the proper level. I drained the pumps and filters and towelled everything away for the winter. This was all done and the pool was put to bed by last evening. We got the first overnight frost of the season in Manitoba last night. Thanks Al for the timely warning.
It’s almost 9 am Pacific time, and so far no sign of Al Gore on my Facebook feed. I have 204 friends, many of whom are pretty liberal… but not a peep from the Goreacle. I have a list of links to send to anyone who posts his nonsense, including the “I’m a Denier” song from the Minnesotans, and some of the most direct science links too…. trigger finger is itchy, but all for naught this morning…
