McCartney, in Interview, Compares Global Warming Skeptics to Holocaust Deniers
Sir Paul McCartney just can’t let it be.
The former Beatle predicted in an interview that the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico might expedite a move to cleaner, renewable energy sources in the world.
Sir Paul could have stopped while he was ahead, but McCartney went on to compare people who don’t believe in global warming to “those who don’t believe there was a Holocaust.”
“Sadly we need disasters like this to show people,” McCartney said in an exclusive interview with The Sun. “Some people don’t believe in climate warning — like those who don’t believe there was a Holocaust.”
McCartney continued, “But the facts indicate that there’s something going on and we’ve got to be aware of it if we want our kids to inherit a decent world, not a complete nightmare of a planet — clean, renewable energy is for starters.”
McCartney also defended President Obama’s handling of the two-month-old crisis.
“I don’t accept the criticism of Barack over the oil spill,” said McCartney, who met the president for the first time earlier this month.
“I think he’s been great. It’s tough if we Brits whinge that he’s whingeing at us. Tough, then don’t spill oil.”
A representative for McCartney in London said the singer would have no further comment.

McCartney once wrote about “yellow matter custard dripping from a dead dog’s eye”. His comments here are on about the same educational level.”
Come on. That’s SOOO John Lennon. And it’s actually good.
I know such peoples like Mr McCartney. They are called “useful idiots”.
How much CO2 does he emit when he sings? Quick, apply for a grant to study the Global Warming Constant for Aged Former Rock Stars, sub-specie BeKnighted.
Celebrities that have made gazillions of dollars, lived high consumption livestyles and then come on all sanctimonious about mother earth and precious resources absolutely gag me. The list of high living super stars preaching to everyone else about curbing their lifestyle is getting rather long.

Personally, i’m of the generation “All that phony beatlemania has bitten the dust… ””
Well, here’s the song for the ones who didn’t identify it by now:
“The sun’s zoomin’ in … The wheat is growing thin..”
Suddenly, he’s not half the man he used to be.
But he’s only going to play acoustic sets from now on.
The former Beatle predicted in an interview that the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico might expedite a move to cleaner, renewable energy sources in the world.
Quite apart from the illogical link between oil spills and CO2 AGW, why would this disaster result in a move to renewable energy?
Did the Exxon Valdez spill do anything to change energy behaviour? Did Saddam’s lighting of all those Kuwaiti wells do anything to change energy behaviour?
I was brought up with a saying I find particularly useful when people hope that something will somehow change human behaviour: “if wishes were horses, beggars would ride.”
If we are change to renewable resources, it will because they are cheaper and/or easier. Just wanting people to be better for its own sake is lovely, but totally futile.
I try listening to his music every now and then. It’s not what it used to be and never was. Really, it’s not that good. I don’t know why anyone ever cared.
[If you deny this, is true, you’re just another skinhead denying the holo…]
Will we still love ‘im,
Will we still need ‘im
When ‘e’s sixty-four ….
(OK, 64+) … but … in a word: No 🙂
At least Lennon tried to reduce his footprint by staying in bed 🙂
We could compare believers in Anthropogenic Global Warming to those who believe in Santa Claus, elfs, gnomes, dragons, Area 51, or that the Sun spins around the Earth.
Gullible people are always swindled. They love to be swindled… they believe it makes them look important.
I’m not Jewish but I know someone who is, and who has very well thought out reasons for not supporting this AGW theory. For him to be called a Holocaust Denier by this arrogant pontificator must be very hurtful. Too much of that Wacky Backy and Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds in India long ago, methinks.
@Elftone
‘Anyway, look, he’s a great songwriter and performer, and he’s entitled to his opinions. But they’re just his opinions, and matter not in the least. Why get so wound up over someone putting their foot in their mouth?’
G’ding, but he actually managed to put his foot in his mouth?
Who’s about to give a f*ck about that feat? Ding, ding, ring ding ding. :p
People like McCartney and Bernie Sanders shouldn’t even comment at all on the Holocaust until they’ve dug around to find out how eugenics really came to be. There’s plenty of blame to go around, You can start here and go to archives and type in eugenics. What you see come up may astound you.

‘Progressives’ were instrumental…. some ‘others’, present warmongers keep it alive “In God we trust” today. Or use poverty
I’m just really am getting sick of it and I cannot bring myself to support hardly any political anybody.
Everyone knows how Sir Paul travels. Yellow Submarine. I do believe in the Holocaust, because I have seen the evidence, but I do not believe in AGW, because I have not seen the actual evidence linking CO2 to a temperature rise without data manipulation . Where does that leave me? Am I just a Blue Meanie?
McCartney inspired Charles Manson with his song “Helter Skelter.”
Manson eliminated the carbon footprint of both Sharon Tate and her unborn baby.
The Sun!!!!!!!!!! Now we are talking serious newspapers! lol, only good for page 3 😉 (go have a look you lot from the U.S. )

I can’t believe that after 100 or so comments, no one has pointed out that Paul has, yet again, re-affirmed that Ringo was and is actually the smartest one in the bunch.
Ah, Ringo! The voice behind Thomas the Tank Engine!
We are all entitled to opinions but what is it with politicians like Obama meeting McCartney, Blair meeting….anyone…..etc? Did the likes of Bob Dilan etc scare them in the 60’s?
I do not need ill educated, has beens, like Sting, Geldorf and above all, that pompous (snipped myself guys) Bono (why does someone wear sunglasses at night? Now there is something for scientists to research!) , trying to tell me how to lead a good life!
–Rant off– Phew! Did like “Here comes the Sun” though…except……where are my sunspots!
DirkH, re Beatlemania departed, I agree to the extent that the screaming teenage girls are now in their 60s, and are no longer prone to such fits of screaming. But the Beatles tribute bands are doing a wonderful business. I heard a pretty good one here in Southern California at the end of May – the band is Paperback Writer. And of course the Beatles’ music sales continue. I suspect that music piracy and copyright scofflaws have taken away a huge chunk of their sales, as has happened with all the good artists. Bad artists were not going to sell much anyway.
“Sadly we need disasters like this to show people”.
Oh my God, we’re only one step away from Michael Crichton’s “State of Fear” plot coming true. You know… the one where environmentalists plot to cause a global natural disaster to “show people” we need to mend our ways.
If you have not read it – buy the book tomorrow – it was my awakening into AGW skepticism.
The world is going going mad…
So, according to Paul, “…“Sadly we need disasters like this to show people,” McCartney said in an exclusive interview with The Sun. “Some people don’t believe in climate warning — like those who don’t believe there was a Holocaust…”.
Who would have believed that Ahmadinejad (Iran’s President) was a climate change denier. He’s constantly saying there was no such thing as a Holocaust.
Lennon’s take on McCartney:
[from the 1971 song How do you sleep?]
>>Who would have believed that Ahmadinejad (Iran’s President) was
>>a climate change denier. He’s constantly saying there was no such
>>thing as a Holocaust.
Holocaust denial (and therefore AGW denial?) Is common across the Near and Middle East. In Syria the most popular book in every shop window is Mein Kampf. No kidding, it is there in the window surrounded by all the usual paraphernalia and memorabilia.
