The world of climate change alarmism just got a new ally. No I’m not kidding.
CAIRO (AP) – Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden has called in a new audiotape for the world to boycott American goods and the U.S. dollar, blaming the United States and other industrialized countries for global warming.
In the tape, aired in part on Al-Jazeera television Friday, bin Laden warns of the dangers of climate change and says that the way to stop it is to bring “the wheels of the American economy” to a halt.
Umm, where have we heard this before?

Bin Laden is just parrotting the useful idiots in the West including the Obama administration and Democratic leaders who wish to destroy the economy with Cap and Trade, using as an excuse the lie that the US was until recently the biggest contributor to Anthropogenic CO2. The CO2 figure that should be the basis for discussion is the net figure after subtracting CO2 absorbed because of land use practice from emissions, The paper by Fan et al in Science 1998 (p 442)shows that on a net basis North America is a net CO2 sink whereas Europs and Asis put out far more than they absorb. ( Not that anthropogenic CO2 makes much contribution to warming anyway – as recent lack of solar activity increasingly shows.)
I am racking my brain to come up with an “inspirational poster” for this composite picture. Or maybe a research poster. “Psychologists find new link between eco-terrorists and index finger obsession.” Or maybe, just a “WANTED” poster … “for crimes against humanity for misguiding money away from REAL problems.” Any ideas? ☺

This is surely very good news. The last thing that we want is for bin liner to come out as a sceptic. All the lunatics seem to gravitate to the same side as the crooks. In the nature of things I suppose.

Cut it out with the conspiracy theories about Bin Ladin being a special effect. He’s alive, he made a TV appearance prior to the 2004 elections, and he’s connected to a low carbon dialysis machine in Pakistan’s outback where his cohorts are attempting an uprising to make his arrest even more difficult.
And he’s been on the green train for years. It’s not his own doing, Islam generally has the same totalitarian ambitions for bringing around a fantasy version of prehistory as the green movement does.

I will say, that from my Iraq/Saudi experience that it is VERY unusual to see anyone of Yemeni/Saudi cultural heritage evidently support “AGW.”
People in the Arabic cultures tend to reject AGW completely, and not just because their nations are oil producers: they reject it for its status as a “pseudo-religion.”
Apparently Osama is trying to foment some more “anti-American” sentiment from a new angle – but forgot to check how his story would play in Riyadh

Bin Laden is like the Loch Ness monster Lots of fake videos, lots of people looking for them both for many years and no proof of the existance of either (not even a photo on a mobile phone, nothing!). Neither of them exist, thats the baseline position. You can’t prove they don’t exist because you can’t prove a negative. You can’t prove they do exist because they don’t.
They must be really desperate if they bring out this hoax as well. Are they going to say that the cold war and SARS are back too?

Scientific data and analyses show that there is no significant human caused global warming.
During the late Ordovician the planet plunged into the Andean/Saharan ice age when the CO2 level was several times the present.
During the last and previous glaciations, atmospheric CO2 increase often lagged temperature increase by hundreds of years
Proxy data from ice cores show temperature trend direction changes. Temperature trend direction changes are not possible if NET feedback from average global temperature is positive.
Average global temperatures for over a century have trended down then up then down then up then down while atmospheric CO2 levels have risen steadily. Lack of correlation proves lack of causation.
A simple model accurately predicts average global temperatures since 1895 without any need to consider the effects of change to CO2 level or any other ghg. The model, with an eye-opening graph, is presented in the October 16 pdf at http://climaterealists.com/index.php?tid=145&linkbox=true. (Replace all references to PDO with ESST which is short for Effective Sea Surface Temperature).
