The world of climate change alarmism just got a new ally. No I’m not kidding.
CAIRO (AP) – Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden has called in a new audiotape for the world to boycott American goods and the U.S. dollar, blaming the United States and other industrialized countries for global warming.
In the tape, aired in part on Al-Jazeera television Friday, bin Laden warns of the dangers of climate change and says that the way to stop it is to bring “the wheels of the American economy” to a halt.
Umm, where have we heard this before?

Real bin Laden screeds were florid and filled with religious imagery and exhortations. That has not been the case since Tora Bora.

That was about as deep as his usual rants. The sheer ignorance of these Islamic terrorists never fails to amaze. Speaking of ignorance, i wonder if Obama has any real science advisers or if he is surrounded by crazies to protect him from reality?
Obviously I disagree with Bin Laden, but from a strategic standpoint this is quite brilliant. He sees the democrats as enemies of this country or at least willing pawns and is attempting to use them to advance his position. The mere association between CAGW, Bin Laden and those attempting to foist cap-and-tax on this nation should be shocking. In saner times, that might cause many to rethink their stance…but we don’t live in sane times!
Why destroy a country yourself when you can get others to do it from within?
I suppose he will qualify for European funding now!

I recall Saddam Hussein (No relation to Barry Hussein) was the first eco terrorist. He lit up 600 oilwells in Kuwait after invading Kuwait. Since that oil was NOT burned by an internal combustion engine, it was disregarded as polution.

For all those who fear that jihad is winning… Well, there you go. If it was winning, he wouldn’t say our economy needs to be stopped. Apparently it’s still enough to piss off bin Laden, depressed as it is.
Anyway, I just heard this story on CBS and I had to laugh. He urged people to not buy American made goods. I haven’t seen any “made in America” labels in many, many years. Kill the nonexistent.
I guess he’s been in that cave of his for longer than he’s thought to have been!
This is really THE sign that they are really desperate to pass the Cap & Tax legislation. If ever it was true (zero confidence on my part), then if they wanted to really get under OBL’s skin, they would drop the whole idea of a green economy… take that Osama! OSAMAAAAAAaaaa!

This isn’t new. As I recall, it was in the original 10 ??? point diatribe that was released around the 9/11 attack. I remember this because it suggested a possible explanation something I was curious about back then. The muslim oil producing states were gaining massive amounts of the world’s wealth and it didn’t make sense for there to be an outright attack at that time since waiting and biding time would continue to put them in better circumstances unless there was something that would cause the opposite. Running out of petro was not the problem. However, accepting the notion of global warming and the destruction of the planet would provide the impetus to ‘act now’ rather than delay for even better conditions.
That means that this global warming factor is not just a fundamental reason for OBL’s jihad against the west, but that it might be an even more key effort in the timing of the effort or even a prime reason in the reason for this course of action rather than an ecomonic course of action.
does that mean algore is actually guilty of inciting terrorism against the west by misleading others who decided to do something about it?
Increase your emissions or else the terrorists will win!

The real Osama has been pushing up daisies for years now.
So what would be the intent of the real author of this tape? It does not sound like support for AGW and AGW taxes – it sounds like Republican disinformation to undermine AGW taxes.
Just like when ‘Osama’ (the security services?) conveniently put out a tape four days before the 2004 US election, to help Bush win. This ‘Osama’ is being very helpful to someone.
