Gore cancels on Copenhagen lecture – leaves ticketholders in a lurch

It seems the uncertainty about Copenhagen is growing. When Al baby pulls the plug, you know it’s hosed.

From Berlingske: Al Gore cancels lecture during COP15

Al Gore cancels lecture during COP15

Looks like they will get a refund though. Might be worth more as a collectors item in ten years though.

I wonder how many people have shelled out $1200 to shake Al’s hand? Maybe not enough and he couldn’t cover the expenses for his private jet?

From the Washington Post:

“Have you ever shaken hands with an American vice president? If not, now is your chance. Meet Al Gore in Copenhagen during the UN Climate Change Conference,” notes the Danish tourism commission, which is helping Mr. Gore promote “Our Choice,” his newest book about global warming in all its alarming modalities.

“Tickets are available in different price ranges for the event. If you want it all, you can purchase a VIP ticket, where you get a chance to shake hands with Al Gore, get a copy of Our Choice and have your picture taken with him. The VIP event costs DKK 5,999 and includes drinks and a light snack.”

Wait, what? How much is that in American dollars? The currency conversion says it all, too: 5,999 Danish kroners is equivalent to $1,209.

“If you do not want to spend that much money, but still want to hear Al Gore speak about his latest book about climate challenges, you can purchase general tickets, ranging in price from DKK 199-1,499 depending on where in the room you want to sit,” the practical Danes advise. “There will be large screens, so that everyone will get a good view.”

Yah, such a deal.

My dear HPJnr, I hope you didn’t resort to a tattoo – that would be really embarrassing.

sorry guyS but OT .
Some news from NIWA n.z to last weeks story .”Climate scientists say temperatures in New Zealand have risen 1degC between 1931 and 2008″.
A 1995 study identified an upward trend of about 0.7degC from 1900 to 1993 in night time minimum air temperatures measured from ships over the ocean surrounding New Zealand.
It was responding to a continuing row — the so-called “climategate” controversy in which the private emails of climate scientists were hacked and leaked on the internet by climate change sceptics who accused them of manipulating data to show the world’s climate is warming.

Sorry NIWA but on the internet you can get info from weather station 937800 (NZCH) that says their only has been a warming of less than .07c years 1954-2000.

Al Gore took my advice! I told him via my Illiquidassets.net blog… “Mr Gore, When you are in a Sh_t Storm Keep your Mouth Shut!”
He is afraid of an Inconvenient Question.

“You’re all wrong.
Gore and Hansen needed the time to work out their new theory of Anthropogenic Global Cooling.”
Reply: Nah… your wrong. This scenario was done back in the 70’s and from the CIA report ‘A Study of Climate Change as it Pertains to Intellgence Problems’, so the next scare is packaged & ready to go. They can still even use the same pcture of the Polar Bear stranded on that cold iceflo ;-))
I would willingly pay £10,000 if when I met Al Gore, they would let me punch him on the nose.

Is it just me or is Big Al looking more and more like the stereotypical villain in a James Bond movie? Carbonfinger perhaps? Attempting to use nefarious means to control the carbon market and bring the world economy to its collective knees?

Hi security guards refuse to go with him. They complained there would be too many people that Al Gore would asked to be escorted outside because of their inquiring questions…

I just tried logging into my Facebook account and the entire login page IS IN DANISH!
I have never had my language settings set to anything other than English.
Is this Facebook forcing us to become “climately aware”?

You guys really hurt your credibility when you go on about Gore — almost as bad as Climate Progress.
If you want your side of the science to be taken seriously, you should be serious.
If you want to go on about Gore and the plot by socialists (which is fun) as your primary lines of attack, you weaken those with real analysis to offer.

The lamestream aren’t ignoring it, they just don’t think it’s relevant. Of course the blogs are way ahead of the curve here but, unfortunately 6 or 7 whitewashes later, it’ll be back to business as usual.
By the way, why did Gore cancel his talk?

“Piers Corbyn is forecasting the Gore effect:
WeatherAction releases free long range forecast for Copenhagen”
Could that be the reason then, to reverse the Gore effect?
I suspect it has more to do with the book signing incident. The surprising thing about that was how young the protestors looked – anywhere else I would have taken them for environmentalists; they certainly didn’t look like oil barons.
Imagine it, a true grass roots protest movement of young activists – denouncing the greatest fraud of modern times.

His wallet is more important than giving a talk at some meeting. The pressure is on to abandon the Cap & Trade bill in the senate. This bill has to pass for him to make billions of $$$. So, this is where he must work right now. You should contact your senators to make sure they have the proper information before he puts pressure on them. They should also be aware that Al is no brainiac in science… the man does not even know the temperature of the core of the Earth…
Mantle is about 870 degrees Celsius.
Outer core is about 4,400 degrees Celsius to about 6,100 degrees Celsius.
Inner core is about 7,000 degrees Celsius.

Is it possible that Gore will actually try to claim innocence and say he was duped by these scientists along with the rest of the public ? Could he get away with it?

So…if Al’s not presenting at Copenhagen…does that mean we won’t see the famous “Gore Effect”?
I was hoping for a record-breaking blizzard during their visit.

Al “The Tree” Gore is a moron and a coward and I once told him that to his face. He cried like a little girl.
Global warming is a total hoax perpetuated by psueudo-scientists who are actually Marxists in disguise. It is an attempt by Europeans and others from socialistic countries that are jealous of the success of the US and are thus trying to cripple our economy.

Cameron’s climate change policies under fire as David Davis attacks ‘green fixation’
Tory backbencher David Davis has launched an open challenge to David Cameron’s climate change policies by criticising the ‘fixation’ of the green movement. David Davis was the leadership challenger to Cameron, how many more will raise their heads.

Maybe a correction to the earth core temperature… according to a new method developed in 2006, the core could be more around 3,677 degrees Celsius.
