The WMO press release on the arctic, is based on modeled mass balance to predict actual mass balance. As the original poster here stated; “Neat trick”.
Its near -60 in Siberia now. GISS, quoted in that site, is also the outlier in temperature metrics. UAH, RSS and even Hadley, shows declining global temperature trends since 1997. But even GISS shows a negative temperature trend since 2001.

The lake where I walk every day after dropping my daughter for school was flash-frozen last week by 100-year record -18 F. temperatures. The lake surface is a perfectly white plane of hoarfrost, except for the network of coyote and fox trails, each leading to and from dark blobs scattered at intervals across the surface. Out on the ice, up close to the dark blobs, I could see the frozen vertebra sticking up through, the bones stripped clean, and the trampled ring of feathers, light and gray as ash, of the Canada geese, their carcasses frozen in place where they died.
Still, the creators of this video may be onto something. I would normally pass off such crap saying they have no clue about nature, but who knows, maybe those geese consciously acknowledge that there’s no way out, watch the circling coyotes closing in, and yield themselves up to it.

Here on our part of Vancouver Island we’ve got over twenty inches of ‘Global Warming’outside our door right now, with more to come around lunchtime and prophesised for Saturday night. Great weather for snowmobiles, but most unusual for the Nanaimo area. Only happens every 20 years or so. Local folklore has it that the last Winter with anything like this snowfall was in 1996.

In regards to this link: where is all the evidence that Siberia is actually suffering from the alleged “brutally-hot-year-for-the-siberian-tundra”?
I did a yahoo search and couldn’t find a single actual (non-hypothetical) anecdotal story or evidence that demonstrates that Siberia actually suffered from a brutal heat wave this year as claimed here and in the GISS records.
You would think that if global warming were striking Siberian as bad as the temperature anomaly maps indicate, we would see horrific tornados, flooding, droughts, and every other AGW induced disaster relentlessly clobbering Siberia.
You would think that if global warming were striking Siberia, you would see photos in the National Geographic and other pro-AGW magazines, of glaciers melting, frozen tundra thawing, animals dieing, and other photo evidence of Global warming.
You would think that if global warming were indeed striking Siberia at a rate of 10 times that of the rest of the world, you would hear reports of mass extinctions, natural habitat destruction and/or migrations of all sorts of native species.
You would think that with all the hype and hysteria over global warming, the one area that has apparently experienced the most warming the past 10 years, and showing the degree of massive warming that is forecast for the rest of the globe in the next century, would become the “poster child” for the global warming cause.

Guys, I’m holding the fort here in your vicinity at the head of Wallowa Lake, a lake which, for anyone who doesn’t know, was formed by the advance then retreat of a Glacier/Glaciers? which also put up massive lateral moraines above the Lake and left a terminal moraine allowing the Lake to form. When I saw the lateral moraines I first thought the Army Corps of Engineers must have finally gone nuts.
Overall, the gouge is about 800-900′ deep, 4 miles long, and about a mile wide?. The area has had at least 5 glacial advances and retreats according to Elmo Stevenson, a past President of Eastern Oregon State College in La Grande – “Nature Rambles the Wallowas” – and over the past two years I’ve noticed some year round snow [glaciers] on the Mountains, which were present about 30 years ago, then disappeared in the interim. Also, last year was the first time I’ve ever had to get “my” road ploughed.
