Over hundreds of millions of years, CO2 and temperature have often moved independently or even in opposite directions. In ice cores covering the last several glacial cycles, temperature typically rises first; CO2 follows hundreds of years later. That sequence is the opposite of the cause-and-effect story commonly presented.
The video also covers why additional CO2 produces diminishing warming (saturation of the relevant infrared bands) and why water vapor and clouds dominate Earth’s greenhouse effect. CO2 remains essential plant food that has contributed to global greening and higher crop yields.
