While the media obsesses about record wildfires, the satellite data shows the opposite – worldwide, wildfire area is at the lowest for time of year since records began:
In the UK, fires are well below last year’s level and tied with 2019:
And in the EU fires are at 609,000 ha (difficult to see on the graph), well below record levels:
While in the US, wildfires are the third lowest for time of year:
