How to teach climate change so 15-year-olds can act
OECD’s Pisa program will measure the ability of students to take action in response to climate anxiety and ‘take their position and role in the global world’
“It’s going to get hot and everything’s going to be on fire and the oceans will rise,” says a year 11 student, Josh Dorian. “That’s just like the worst of the worst. How do you combat that?
“Well, you fix it, you stop it from happening, you take preventive measures,” says Josh, who is studying VCE environmental science at Mount Lilydale Mercy College, a high school in Melbourne’s outer east. “Involving kids in that is scary but I think it’s necessary.”
In 2025, for the first time in nearly a decade, science will be the major focus of the OECD’s program for international student assessment (Pisa) – which runs every three years (give or take Covid interruptions), its focus rotating between reading, maths and science.
This year it will measure the knowledge and ability of 15-year-old students from 92 countries and economies to act on climate change, under a new heading: Agency in the Anthropocene.

It’s about understanding their role in the ecosystem. “Not as a pinnacle up the top, but as a player in a whole range of other players in an ecosystem. They’re part of a system, which means they have to act responsibly in the system.”

The climate movement is dying, you can smell the desperation. The last two premier climate conferences have been hosted by oil sheiks and petro-tyrants who think fossil fuel is a “gift from god”. But even a dying snake can deliver a deadly strike. The climate movement is still doing a lot of damage on the way down.
When the climate movement is finally swept into the dustbin of history, this period during which our society taught millions of frightened children that it is their responsibility to save the world will rank high on the list of wicked acts committed by greens and their political enablers.

Climate alarmists know that they have lost the scientific argument but they are banking on the fact that most people have little scientific knowledge. Brainwashing children to their bizarre doomsday cult is a good tactic for them. Most of these children will become adults with zero scientific knowledge and will default to the propaganda that they were indoctrinated with in school.
By the time these kids are adults, they will realize the world is not overheating, contrary to what they were taught as kids.
There is no unprecedented warming or weather today. Climate Alarmists claim today is the hottest time in human history, but they are wrong, and the written record shows they are wrong. The kids will want to know why they were not taught this part of the story.
Kids, them telling you only part of the truth is just the same as lying to you, since they are aware of the other part of the truth, but they hold that back deliberately, in order to fool you and scare you into doing their bidding.

I’d say they’ve done more than enough damage already. They haven’t finished yet.
It will be interesting to see the national Pisa scores. But if the climate action crap is just a few questions out of many it will not affect the scores. They have assumed alarmism before.
The situation in schools is particularly alarming. Kids are just taught that plants take “something” out of the air to grow, not mentioning that it’s CO2 which is essential for plant life. I hope the new administration will enact corresponding guidelines so that children learn science, not propaganda.
I have seen a carbon cycle lesson that did not even mention the air. They made it sound like the trees got it from the ground. However the Feds have no say on what is taught. That is State policy via the their “standards of learning.”
Everyone has standards. Its just that some of them are very low.
Will not make one single bit of difference in the three biggest CO2 producing countries: China, India and the USA.
They need to be told that nothing they do will make one jot of difference to anything except to destroy their future economy, dooming themselves to a much lower standard of living… and that they just wasting their time and energy.
Then take away their mobile phones and make them walk everywhere. 🙂

I truly hope we are nearing the end of the head bobbers and suckers that always take the easy path and accept whatever narrative their leaders decide is best despite the obvious evidence. From climate change, COVID, dementia-riddled presidents, DEI, ESG, incompetent corrupt administrators, etc., the masses are finally pushing back and winning. Part of me wants to see the evil rooted out, exposed and punished, but the best thing to do now is to move on and try to learn from the past nightmare.

Just as a footnote, some people believe that the children’s crusade was the result of a misunderstanding of the French word “peasant” into “children” and that actually it was a peasant’s crusade. The aristocracy and the clergy wrote the history and they knew what they meant by the term “children’s crusade” but the nuance was lost in future generations.
I don’t know if that is true or not. But it would make more sense if it was a peasant’s crusade.
As increasing numbers of adults scoff at climate alarmism, ignore it completely, and refuse to make major lifestyle changes to combat what they see as a non-problem, the alarmists are getting more desperate. Now they believe that the climate crisis indoctrination process should start with the young and supposedly more impressionable. Except it won’t take long for these kids to refuse to forgo all the gadgets and comforts that make their lives more pleasurable and convenient; i.e., to become adults and recognize a scam that they’ll quickly reject.
This isn’t new. They’ve been indoctrinating the kids for decades.
Children are taught untruths all the time from an early age. Santa and the tooth fairy for example. Most quickly learn to sort the wheat from the chaff. By the time they are twenty they will not think as they did and by thirty five they will be different again. Wisdom comes with age for most people.

I often speak in these terms since I believe that is how bad this hoax is. Hard to accept intelligent people actually believe this stuff. Same for Covid pandemic scam.
Apparently the ability to think critically, or rationally, is not as widespread as it once was! I’ll bet many college grads couldn’t pass high school tests from the late 19th and early 20th Centurys!
I don’t understand how a grown adult can take pride in scaring the crap out of impressionable youngsters. Worse yet they are bragging about it, these guys need a trip to the woodshed. After the woodshed they should be made to make their presentation before a panel of skeptics. Not just any skeptics but very knowledgeable skeptics with superior communication skills.
Bottom line, their paychecks are calculated based on how well they scare the kiddies! If you think the increases in depression and mental illness are not intentional, you’re not paying attention!
