California “purifies” its little air bubble at the expense of its residents.

The State remains ignorant that more than 99 percent of the world’s population lives outside the borders of the State.

Driven by California Governor Gavin Newsom being oblivious to reality that the so-called ENERGY transition is only an ELECTRICITY transition, the State’s 40 million residents continue to bear the expense of his so-called transition from fossil fuels.

Governor Newsom has no comprehension that wind turbines and solar panels can only generate electricity occasionally, as wind turbines and solar panels cannot make any of the more than 6,000 products now made from crude oil, or fuels for all forms of transportation.

Californians continue to pay dearly for the cleanest air in the world, while most of the world gets electricity from 1,000’s of coal power plants.

California’s extensive government regulations are great ammunition for environmental consultants and lawyers to delay indefinitely or stop the progress of any project.

The Governor does not comprehend that wind turbines and solar panels are themselves 100% made from the products from oil derivatives manufactured from crude oil !  Further, electricity CANNOT exist without crude oil as all the parts and components of every electricity generation system (coal, natural gas, nuclear, hydro, wind, and solar) are also made from the oil derivatives manufactured from oil.

Special note about a new drama television series, LANDMAN, with Lead Actor Billy Bob Thornton, that supports Energy Literacy:

All the parts and components of California Governor Newsom’s net zero emissions fantasy is 100% dependent on crude oil, the same oil that he wants to rid the world of.

As a Facebook trailer illustrates for the new “Landman” drama television series, created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, Newsom is oblivious to the fact that every product in our society, that did not exist 200 years ago, is made from oil.

Thus, before Newsom totally destroys the California economy, Newsom needs to identify the “replacement” to crude oil that will support the materialistic demands of the economy, before he preaches net zero emissions.

Be sure to watch this 90-second commercial for the new LANDMAN drama series:

https://www.facebook.com/reel/1620339808894808

In addition, everything that needs electricity to function like iPhones, computers, data centers, and X-Ray machines are all made with petrochemicals manufactured from crude oil. Without fossil fuels, there would be nothing that needs electricity!!

In pursuit of his miss guided transition to electricity, the beginning of “Trump proofing” California began days after the November election, when the California Air Resources Board (CARB) — a regulatory commission almost entirely appointed by the governor Gavin Newsom — passed new updates to the state’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS), requiring producers of “dirty” transportation fuel to purchase more credits from producers of “clean” transportation fuel. The new LCFS will provide an estimated $105 billion in EV charging credits and $8 billion of hydrogen credits largely paid for by fees on gasoline and diesel, which the state would pass on to drivers and consumers.

The California population of 40 million represents a miniscule 0.4 percent of the 8 billion on this planet.  The other 99.6 percent of the world’s population live outside the borders of the State.

Under Governor Newsom’s so-called “leadership”, California gas prices could rise another $1.15 per gallon next year thanks to the state’s new carbon credit system, taxes, refinery regulations, and the Phillips 66 refinery shutdown in 2025.

  1. The state’s newly passed carbon credit requirement may increase retail prices for regular grade gasoline in 2025 somewhere between 40 and 65 cents per gallon.
  1. The governor’s new refinery regulations he passed during a special legislative session last month would increase prices between 5 and 27 cents per gallon.
  1. The shutdown of the Phillips 66 refinery announced after the new refinery regulations would add another 8 to 14 cents per gallon.
  1. Because California gas taxes rise with the state’s price index, the gas tax will go up between one to two cents per gallon in 2025.

These fuel cost increases contribute to inflation and the high cost of living in California and have a disproportionate and adverse impact on lower income Californians.

  • Governor Newsom is personally exempt from those fuel cost increases as he is chauffeured to and from his Sacramento office in a State-owned gasoline vehicle.

Most in wealthy California are oblivious that about 80 percent of the world’s 8 billion, many of which are in Africa, Asia and Latin America still live on less than $10 a day – and the billions who still have little to no access to electricity. For others, life is severely complicated and compromised by the hypocritical “green” agendas of wealthy country elites who have benefited so tremendously from fossil fuels since the modern industrial era began in the 1800’s.

In the book “Clean Energy Exploitations” – Helping Citizens Understand the Environmental and Humanity Abuses That Support Clean Energy the book discusses the lack of transparency to the world of the green movement’s impact upon humanity exploitations in the developing countries that are mining for the exotic minerals and metals required to create the batteries needed to store “green energy”.

In those developing countries, the mining operations disproportionately impact low-income communities and exploit child labor and are responsible for the most egregious human rights’ violations of vulnerable minority populations. These mining operations are also directly destroying the planet through environmental degradation.

John Stossel’s 6-minute video

explains how America’s Green Energy Needs Minerals, Yet America Blocks New Mines on American soil.  While the wealthier countries are shelling out billions of dollars for so-called clean ELECTRICITY from wind and solar, those developed nations are financially encouraging China and Africa to continue exploiting “their” poor with yellow, brown, and black skin, and financially supporting environmental degradation to “their” landscapes just to reinforce mandated EV’s, wind turbines, and solar panels in “our backyards”!

It is appalling that wealthy California with its “green mandates” continues to burden its residents with humongous costs to transition to just electricity, and support unethical, immoral, and hypocritical actions to obtain exotic minerals and metals from poorer developing countries to achieve that electricity transition.

The analogy of the miniscule impact from the 40 million Californians on this planet of 8 billion, is that an individual urinating in the ocean will not change the temperature of the ocean waters!

Alternatively, Gavin Gruesome knows he is gaslighting the public, and does not care, as long as the Green Blob supports him and keeps the campaign contributions coming in.
Dianne Feinstein acted as if she never learned anything about gun control law, or its effects, in about forty years of repeating the same script. But she died in office, unrepentant. She, like Newsom, was bright enough to know better, but deception sold.

But I suspect this is not the result of legislation but rather of the law being quietly ignored… Could I be right ?

One of Donald Trump’s first actions upon taking office should be to rescind the waivers which allow California to regulate emissions and fuel economy for cars and trucks. This would make them more affordable for everyone in the USA, and eliminate the unrealistic requirements for the percentage of new vehicles which must be “zero emissions”.

Newsome knows what he is doing, don’t be naive. It’s his chance to …. once again, different subject ….. virtue signal that he’s one of the Globalists that will do anything to advance the Marxist ideology. Sanctuary state, laws favor the criminals not the victims, monetary policies to soak the middle and lower classes, celebrate LGBTQ, promote child sex change, and more of the narrative.

How high will California have to build walls to keep the “pollution” from adjacent states that produce the electricity that is sent to California?

What does the mob call people or businesses that get caught up with the mob? Marks? That’s probably the best analogy to describe the relationship between China and countries like Pakistan.

Newsom has the ClimateCult™ Virus (CCV) for which there is no cure. {Jay Inslee in WA State does too.} The arguments and information in this post, rational as they are, cannot pierce the brain barrier caused by the CCV. Newsom is just 58 so will likely outlive the popular delusion of a climate crisis.

I’ve lived in CA. Their environment policies are self-defeating. The keep telling us (Colorado) to send them more water. Not gonna happen…

December 4, 2024 9:05 am

Lead-in sentence of above article:
“The State remains ignorant that more than 99 percent of the world’s population lives outside the borders of the State.”

Not only that, but according to current data, California contributes less than 1% of the world’s total CO2 emissions. And let’s not forget that the troposphere is considered “well mixed” globally, so California will be vainly attempting to purify “its own air”, because in fact there is no such thing.

And there are plenty of California-based scientists that know this fact . . . its only the scientifically-ignorant politicians like Newsom and the California legislature that remain blissfully ignorant.

I don’t have any sources to reference, but I recall that US passenger vehicle emissions are about 15% of total US emissions. The US meanwhile, produces about 15% of global emissions.

Let’s see: 0.15 * 0.15 = 0.0225 of global emissions.

Somebody please explain why we are wasting so much time and money on 2.25% of global emissions?

I’d like an open debate on the claims made in that famous Landman clip. There’s a lot of truth there, And a lot of exaggeration and inaccuracies, too. Just because I like what he says, doesn’t make it true.

I’d like someone support the claims. I’d like to see someone refute the claims. I’d like to see references. I’d like to see an open debate.

BTW – The job of a landman is securing leases, not supervising oil fields. I don’t imagine the series would be very interesting if it just focused on charming, coercing and cajoling landowners into signing leases. Nor would the more accurate title “field supervisor” be catchy.

Climate activist Bill McKibben: Solar is light in dark times

https://www.recorder.com/Climate-activist-Bill-McKibben-Solar-is-light-in-dark-times-58286255

starts with:

AMHERST — The past few weeks have been tough for climate activism, and longtime climate activist Bill McKibben, who makes his home in Vermont, is feeling the heat.

This year will be the hottest year on record, breaking the record-setting temperatures from 2023. President-elect Donald Trump has repeatedly denied facts or relayed false information about climate change, most recently claiming that sea level rise will increase seaside property values. Even at the international level, global climate conferences produced little progress on limiting CO2 and other climate-changing gases, McKibben noted, as represented by Azerbaijan’s president proclaiming that gas and oil are “a gift from God” at COP29.

“The fossil fuel industry has achieved, in its own mind, all of its aims,” said McKibben, founder of international grassroots climate movement 350.org. “They mobilized every bit of money that they could, and they’re firmly convinced that they are in control of the situation in a way that they haven’t been for a while.”

One of the reasons why CA’s air is “clean” is because power generation is being moved out of state. Usually to places that are downwind of CA.

The major reason is that California’s entire length is next to the Pacific Ocean, and there are no major polluters within 5000 miles of its entire fetch.

Hmmmm . . . what about:
— aluminum (as in turbine blades and turbine and solar panels mounting/supporting structures)?
— copper (as in turbine generator windings, in control wiring, and in electricity transmission wires)?
— iron and coke (a coal-derived product), used to make the steel used in turbine generators and bearings, and in support structures of solar panels, and in bolts, nuts and screws used to fasten wind turbine and solar panel parts together?
— glass and doped-silicon, as used in solar cells?
— sand, lime, cement, rocks and pebbles, and iron rebar as used to make reinforced concrete for base support of structures?

It is simply bad governance to replace a reliable source of energy with an unreliable source of energy. Unwise in the extreme. Civilization itself requires energy.
