With a financial war chest provided by nations like the United Kingdom, France, and Sweden, this initiative isn’t about “truth” or “science”—it’s about control.
Bringing together countries, international organizations, and stakeholders worldwide, it aims to promote and defend information integrity on climate change, address disinformation, and enhance climate change awareness and action. It includes a global fund which will finance research into disinformation on climate change and initiatives to promote information integrity.

Let’s call this what it is: a blatant attempt to silence anyone questioning the so-called climate crisis narrative. Under the guise of combating “misinformation,” these global bureaucracies aim to crush free thought and erase critical voices from the public square. This isn’t just an attack on skeptics—it’s an assault on open discourse itself.
The Initiative: A Wolf in Green Clothing
According to their public statements, the Initiative seeks to fund nonprofits for “research” and “public awareness campaigns.” They’re also creating what they call an “international research network” to identify and suppress so-called disinformation. In other words, they’re building an apparatus to label opposing viewpoints as dangerous lies and to justify censoring them into oblivion.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres, with his characteristic paternalism, declared disinformation a threat to climate action and even democracy itself. The not-so-subtle subtext? If you dare question their dogma, you’re the problem.
“We must also take on climate disinformation,” Guterres said. “Our climate is at a breaking point.”
The History: Silencing Skeptics Since Day One
This isn’t the first time climate skeptics have been targeted. As far back as 2010, Google began manipulating search results to demote skeptical voices. A French study highlighted how skeptics dominated online search rankings at the time, leading to a concerted effort to bury their views beneath mountains of alarmist propaganda. Blogs like Pensée Unique and works by Claude Allègre drew enough attention to provoke the ire of the establishment.
Now, thanks to collusion between Big Tech, governments, and nonprofits, the “censorship industrial complex” has become a powerful and insidious force. Groups like the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) in the United States, along with private entities like NewsGuard, routinely conspire to flag, suppress, and delegitimize dissenting voices.
We’ve seen this play out before. The Twitter Files laid bare the extent of this collusion, revealing how social media platforms partnered with government agencies to suppress stories and deplatform users who strayed from the approved narrative. This is not about protecting the public from falsehoods—it’s about eliminating debate.
Why the Fear?

It is an interesting point that there may not be sufficient reserves of hydrocarbon fuels and coal to achieve a doubling of the atmospheric conecntration of CO2.
For what it’s worth, without an independent power source, positive feedback is not possible. One cannot create energy out of nothing. CO2 does not create or destroy energy, nor can it “trap” it.
It is common these days to go with a dialup speed chat type vocabulary where instead of CO2 only carbon is spoken or written. This is inaccurate. Carbon is not CO2.
When one looks at all of the molecular geometries involving carbon it becomes even more clear that carbon is the pollutant, not CO2 and CO2 and carbon are not the same.
Likewise fossil fuels. A term coined many decades ago to help people understand oil, coal, and natural gas are natural and some mystical evil thing. Back then and for a long time is was believed oil was made from dead dynosaurs. We know better today.
Coal is not a fossil. Were we to make charcoal under the same pressure experience when organic matter was charbroiled deep in the earth, we would end up with coal, not charcoal. Increase the pressure and one gets diamonds. Those are not fossilizatin processes.
There is no “greenhouse effect” and the only time H2O and CO2 and others are “greenhouse gasses” are when they are injected into an actual greenhouse.
Once again it is a common expression that is inaccurate It’s history goes back to early studyies where the scientist put gasses in a box with a glass lid. Bascially these experiments had nothing to do with IR EM radiation and everything to do with Specific Heat Capacity in a constrained volume (Cv). The scientist observing the test commented it was kinda/sorta like what happens in a greenhouse. Someone else pirated that comment and repurposed it, conflating the original context and meaning. The experiment was literally duplicating a greenhouse and that has nothing to do with earth’s atmospheric energy system.

It’s the same old story: if you’re losing the game, change the rules to give yourself the advantage. The alarmists see that most of their doomsday predictions haven’t materialized and that voters are giving them steadily decreasing support at all levels as well as adopting few or no green lifestyle changes. So if they ignore/censor,/distort/ the actual facts, they believe governments, businesses and consumers will fall for their exaggerations . Except their stunts are being greeted with increasing amounts of ridicule or ignored altogether. Why aren’t EVs selling? Why hasn’t air travel declined? Where’s the demand for more rapid transit? Why haven’t more people stopped red meat consumption and adopted vegan diets? All of the above among others have failed to materialize, while global populations, life expectancies, and agricultural output have steadily increased, so maybe people worldwide recognize scams after all.
Not to mention that these same populations watch their elite masters breaking every rule they are imposing on the masses. Look at the menus at the past severl COPs. Look at all the private jets and limos used to transport 30K, 45K, 85K people to a bogsat (bunch of guys sitting around talking).
The massive hippocracy is taking its toll on the faithful masses.

The science-based observation platforms in space (e.g, GOES and CERES), along with the computed atmosphere in the form of reanalysis models – I really like ERA5 – show us plainly how the core claim of AGW through emission of CO2, CH4, N2O has been unsound from the very beginning.
I encourage skeptics to stop ceding the core claim that a “warming” result is to be expected from the radiative effect of the rising concentration of CO2. No one knows that is what will happen. The static case is not in dispute, that a surface temperature increase in a still atmosphere would be required to bring the final longwave emission to space back in balance. But the atmosphere is not static, and its circulation changes everything about where the energy involved in the so-called “forcing” should be expected to end up.
I know that many here take the self-identified “lukewarm” position, and I respect that – NO CLIMATE CRISIS – NO EMERGENCY – all good. But there is no way to ever isolate the minor static radiative effect for reliable attribution of the reported temperature trends, so the more justified position is that NO ONE KNOWS that absorbed energy will end up accumulating down here as sensible heat from incremental GHGs.

Kudos, David. There is a greenhouse effect because radiatively active trace gases not only absorb (and emit) LWIR, but also collide with major atmospheric gases to thermalize the troposphere, thereby resulting in the massive convective overturning that is so apparent from your satellite links.
But, as you say, no one ‘knows’ that adding more CO2 to the atmosphere will result in additional. warming – there certainly isn’t any evidence in the geological record that CO2 is the ‘control knob’ of the climate. To the contrary, more recent data, starting with analyses of the polar ice cores, clearly indicate that CO2 lags temperature on all time scales for which timing can be determined. There have also been recent studies that suggest that the current amount of CO2 in the atmosphere far exceeds levels where its further warming potential effectively became negligible.
My own position is that greenhouse gases, primarily water vapor, have and will continue to maintain stasis around whatever ‘set point’ for the Earth’s energy balance is dictated by a combination of factors (in descending order of time), including its position in the galaxy, plate tectonics, orbital mechanics and solar activity.

CO2 is a very weak IR radiation absorber, plus it is only 0.042% of the atmosphere.
It is not physically possible for it to have anywhere near 1% of influence on GW.
WV is hugely more abundant than CO2, a much stronger IR radiation absorber, and, with the sun’s heat, evaporates water , forms clouds, distributes rain water.
Its influence on weather totally swamps anything else
Water, in all its forms, is the key to Earth’s climate stasis at any point in time. For some reason our alarmist friends seem focused on an invisible, tasteless and odorless trace gas that is the basis for life on Earth rather than the vast reservoir of liquid water that extends over 70% of the surface at an average depth of over two miles.
Water molecules have a dipole moment due to their structioon. CO2 is dipole neutral.
What this means is H2O is more active in the presens of an EM field (like charges repel) and basically this is why a microwave cooks food. That aside, for the same energy levels on single molecules, H2O is more active from the ElectroMatnetic field, and the EM filed wave pressure given it is less massive than CO2.
CO2 has a very slight effect on the atmosphere due to is relative Specific Heat Capacity. Doubling the concentration of CO2 is a STP mol of air (static) has an effect in the % sixth decimal place. Almost zero, but not quite.
People do not remember that a photon is not a particle, not a bullet, but is a quantum of energy in a EM wave. People do not remember how valence works. When a quantum of energy excites a valence electron, it does not change the kinetic energy (aka temperature) of the molecule. When the electron orbit decays and the quantum of energy is emitted (quantum probabilities apply), the emitted energy can go in any of the sperical surface equivalent of the molecule.
What this means is STATISTICALLY, half the energy goes “up” and half “down” but with a spherical wave front. Why is this important? If one has a detector with an apperature capable of receiving energy vectors of say 30 degrees from zenith (zenith is the vector orthoganal to the sensor surface) it will not register energy coming in a t 45 degree departure from zenith. In simple terms, our satellites and hand held and earth bound, balloon sensors do not capture all of the IR.
It is impossible. If we believe there is a deficit and it is impossible to capture all of the waves and field strenghts, then it should be obvious there is no deficit or, possibly, the deficit is less than estimated.
Take it for what it’s worth.
Despite the hype, there is no real evidence that CO2 has any effect on ouir global climate system. The AGW hypothesis has been falsified by science. It is all a matter of science.
First of all, there is evidence that CO2 effects the climate, BUT THERE IS DIRECT EVIDENCE THAT CO2 HAS ONLY INSIGNIFICANT NEGATIVE EFFECTS.
We must not exclude the earth greening, whichi is a positive effect.

Because after the first gulf war the US destroyed all of the weapons of mass destruction and then forced the UN to impose a crippling sanction regime onto Iraq that meant that Saddam was unable to rebuild them. And the UN weapons inspectors consistently said that as well. For example:

I think that you misunderstand communism, or at least how humans implement it. It becomes a dictatorship very quickly, because some people are “more equal than others”. Sad, but true.

The truth is that despite the fype, there is no climate crisis. There is no real evidence that CO2 or methsne have any effect on our global climate system. The AGW hypothesis has been falsified by science. Mankind does not even know what the optimal global climate actually is let alone how to achieve it. Hence all spending on trying to fight climate change is just a big waste of funds. There may be many good reasons to be conserving on the use of fossil fuels but fighting climate change is not one of them. World wide trillions of dollars have already been spent trying to fight climate change yet no one is saying that there has been any imporvement in our global climate, For the truth about climate change try reading “The Rational Climate e-Book” by Patrice Poyet which one can download for free from the author’s web site. One will learn of some of the many ways in which the AGW hypothesis has been falsified. It is all a matter of science.

Hmmmm…. I had a problem all through school with the “show your work” thing.
My mind didn’t fit that mold. Teacher would put a “word problem” on the board and ask me to come up and “solve it”. I would go up and write the answer. “No, No, Mr. Hansen. Show your work.”
“What work? The answer is obvious, there is no work to show.”
“Mr. Hansen. ‘Show your work’ means writing on the board the steps you took to arrive at the answer, even if only in your head!”
“That’s what I wrote on the board….one step…the answer.”

Personally, “tweaking” search results is misinformation (mistaken or misleading) and could also be classified as disinformation (deliberately deceptive).
