Salute!

Sen Kennedy is a very sharp lawyer, and more importantly has an awful lot of common sense.

I have listened to him over the last 25 years in his various Louisiana posts, and he has amused me and informed me about many energy, economic and environmental issues and the options for we humans to do something or not.

A better skewer than the clueless athlete was his questioning of the U.S. Under Secretary of the Dept of Energy, and I post the link for your entertainment ( about 6 minutes long):

Nice. Thank you for that *cringe* laugh. What a LIAR that Deputy Secretary was — he knows good and well that the amount the temperature would drop if the U.S. spent ~$50 TRILLION would be unmeasurable/meaningless.

That was a good one!
About the ski dude, now I wish the senator had asked him whether he knew how many inches of snow had fallen in, say the last three years, at his favorite ski slope.

Snowpack for Colorado is about 95% of normal, may be over 100% of normal after the next storm Sunday Monday.

Salute!

About the Senator…..one of his latest “piercing” questions had to do with a proposed “assault weapon” issue.
Sen Kennedy asked the witness to define an “assault weapon” and he got a response like the ski dude, and finally concluded she didn’t even know what an “assault weapon” was!

Being a Louisiana pol, Sen Kennedy is extremely well-informed on almost every aspect of the oil and gas business. However, his best accomplishment was as Treasurer and negotiated a Louisiana statue concerning the huge tobacco settlement back in late 90’s. The statue prevented the legislature from diverting the $$$ from the education and other agencies to the so-called “earmarks”.

They called this athletic kid as an “expert” on “Climate Change”?
Sounds like his “expertise” could only be about the short time in his short life that he skied.
What could he say? “My skiing isn’t as good as it used to be and they told me it was due to …”?

You didn’t miss much. When pressed he just kept saying, in effect, “I don’t know anything about CO2.” or, regarding past leftist activist statements he’d made, “That’s not the context of this hearing.”
There were better hearings where an expert claimed to know something and Kennedy exposed the new one he just tore them.

I actually watched the entire thing through, trying to find out what he was an expert in, I’m still none the wiser. He ski’s and is, what, a professional downhill skier – so he’s paid to perform in front of an audience who, presumably, paid to watch him perform? They all need their money back.

One thing about way too many “urbanites”, is that they tend to assume that anyone who doesn’t live as they do, can’t possibly be smart.
As a result, many hicks have learned to emphasize their cultural differences when around urbanites. Both to mock them, as well as making it easy to sucker them into whatever you trying to get them to do.

I’d be interested in his explanation to his quick statement to the effect that there will be no snow in the future for athletes like him. What data does he use to make that claim? Can he show that the world’s snowfall has dramatically decreased. Where does he ski?
Maybe as a youngster he listened to Dr David Vintner who said “children won’t know what snow is” in Britain. Or Senator Whitehead showed him data from scenario 8.5 suggesting the same.

This witness is proof that for many Senators on the left these are “show” hearnings.

“The Expert”

— Had no idea about the nature of CO2 (“it’s a BIG part of the atmosphere”)

— Had no idea how much a trillion is.

— Had no idea about the bounds of natural variation in his ski area

DID have his main line down pat:

“I’m not here to talk about that.”

The ventriloquist was very good, but, needs better lines.

Republicans need to ask each and every one of these witnesses:

  • if they use gas or oil for heating.
  • If they have rid themselves of ICE vehicles and only use EVs.
  • If they are eschewing the use of nylon, medicines, plastics, and other products from oil.
  • Do they only wear natural fiber clothing like cotton, wool, and hemp!

I would have asked this witness when he was going to start using skis made only from wood. No epoxies or synthetic glues

Yesterday, Trump was up by 8 points over Biden in Michigan in the latest poll. Biden has to have Michigan to win the presidency.

One Democrat was warning other Democrats on CNN yesterday that this political persecution of Trump by the radical Democrats is going to elect Trump as president.

I think he is correct.

Trump may be able to raise the outrageous $544 million bond demanded by the corrupt New York Attorney General and the corrupt trial judge. Trump’s “Truth Social” is going public and this will put about $3 billion in Trump’s pocket. That will wipe that ugly, malicious grin off Latitia’s face!

With the Senator’s reputation, it is astounding that anyone on the staff would have thought it a good idea of having a low knowledge skier appear as an expert. And Gus, bless his little heart, should have declined. The “tweets” show his lack of common sense, knowledge, and discretion. I hope he is not typical of his age cohort.

Watched this one and was totally blown away by the “expert” responses to Sen. Kennedy’s questions. Sorta reminds me of the interview of Justice Brown and her not knowing what a “female” is. though she appears to be one. Of course, these days ya really can’t tell without a full blown physical exam. Absolutely love watchin’ Sen. Kennedy in action. Just sayin’.

Don’t skip this video. It’s reminiscent of those campus interviews where the students can’t name the continent they’re on. Question after question leaves the dolt babbling at the end that he is just a competitive skier and only knows about snow.

Pee before you watch it!

I was a teenager in the late 60s and early 70s, and we knew more actual detail about our issues than these kids and with considerably less access to information. Athletics aside, Schumacher is/was a sad representation for his age group. Hope he’s a better skier than he is a ‘climate expert.’

John the Econ
March 25, 2024 11:39 am

So this is an expert we should rely upon to justify rolling back the 20th century? A child of leisure who’s convinced that he won’t get to ski anymore unless I give up my affluence?

He and Greta would make a great power couple.
