So when exactly did the WEF become the new, all purpose, world dominating conspiracy and bad guys?

I hardly ever hear about the NWO or Bilderberg or even the Illuminati these days…

They are constantly reorganising and acquiring new names in the process. It isn’t so much a conspiracy as a flow of shared emotion overriding rationality. Those most susceptible are driven more by emotions which make them feel good about themselves. Generally, they are left of centre
because they think nothing happens without the intervention of ‘good’ people. They don’t accept the principle that large numbers of varied decisions average out to arrive at the best answer.
In reality, the more intervention the less good the answer.

It’s okay Griff you poor UK peeps are on notice that 3hr rolling blackouts are on the cards this winter … clearly you didn’t build enough bird choppers.

https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/world/prepare-for-blackouts-on-cold-weekday-evenings-public-warned/ar-AA1348aC

Why the warning

“Although Britain does not import gas from Russian, it does import electricity and gas from European countries that rely on Russian gas.”

If only they listened to you and built more HVDC interconnectors … oh wait !!!!

Energy Security is a lesson best dished up COLD 🙂

No, supercritical coal is the only viable and sensible option at the moment. A crash program. The alternative is blackouts.

When exactly did the WEF decide it was in charge? Worse still, they did it on the back of nonsense like this:

“The World Economic Forum’s annual risks report found that, for the first time in its 15-year history, the environment filled the top five places in the list of concerns likely to have a major impact over the next decade.

Børge Brende, the president of the World Economic Forum, said: “The political landscape is polarised, sea levels are rising and climate fires are burning. This is the year when world leaders must work with all sectors of society to repair and reinvigorate our systems of cooperation, not just for short-term benefit but for tackling our deep-rooted risks.”.” – The Grauniad.

Have you considered joining Just Stop the Green Crap, griff?

The WEF is just the public face of a movement that has infiltrated all the public institutions of all the western democracies. They don’t appear to actually control much of anything, but they exert a powerful influence on our more susceptible politicians. And they do allow us to see the direction the “movement” is moving in, and they do reveal some of the less unappetising of its ultimate goals.

We can infer the more unappetising of its ultimate goals.

From the video:

If they were able to competently execute their vision, what does our life look like?

It looks exactly like the tyranny that was the USSR.

The USSR collapsed within one human lifetime. ie. Some people were born into a world with no USSR and lived to see its end.

After the publication of the Gulag Archipelago, Marxism should have been thoroughly discredited. Sadly, since the Soviets are no longer seen as a threat, western academics can proudly hold their heads up and call themselves Marxists. For instance, anything that calls itself “critical studies” is explicitly Marxist.

Critical Race Theory is Marxist and a bill to that effect has been introduced in the House.

H.Res.1303 – Establishing the Marxist roots of critical race theory and detail the threat this divisive ideology poses to the American republic.

Marxism has failed every time it was tried and always brings forth tyranny and untold human misery.

Since the universities are a breeding ground for all kinds of stupidity, including Marxism, they should be defunded.

Earlier last century, Fascism was seen by academics as the answer. When WWII began and the left could no longer ignore the horrors of German Fascism, academics pretended to have opposed Hitler and Mussolini all along.

They also promulgated the Big Lie that Fascism was a child of the right.

Universities have been systematically violating the tenure contract for 50 years. Politically neutral dispassionate research in return for public funding and faculty job security.

Politically neutral dispassionate research is now anathema at universities. All public money should be withdrawn.

The only viable alternative is radical surgery: a thorough and complete porgressivectomy right up through the provosts and presidents.

My Mom bought me Rachael Carson’s book when it first came out. It impressed me, but having grown up in a house with walls sprayed with DDT each year, and a 40 lb sack of lindane for treating lice in the clinic parked against a wall in my parents’ bedroom I did wonder. The lindane was in the house because we had got bedbugs from a train journey. Handfulls were sprinckeld on the mosquito nets and bedding.

“Why The Woke Create the Disasters They Warn Of”

The woke are convinced that Hom sap is planetary Herpes or worse and their disasters mean a reduction in numbers, ultimately. Their protests are wholly illogical – throwing human waste over a memorial to a war veteran to protest against… private jets. You won’t find private jet users anywhere near there.

Most of the time these self-loathing misanthropes really hope for a major (natural) weather related disaster, so they can say they told us so. You didn’t listen. As I see it, they ‘model’ themselves to a degree on a Trojan priestess who was dedicated to Apollo and fated by him to utter true prophecies but never to be believed.

Which just goes to show there’s nothing new under the Sun (- wot dun it.)

O/T but amusing nonetheless.

The Dartford crossing (QEII bridge) of the Thames has been closed for over a day because griff’s chums in Just Stop Oil climbed up the superstructure and the police have decided – on safety grounds – to wait for them to decide to come down in their own time.

So locals took matters into their own hands – 5th November isn’t far off…

WEF (The European Management Forum c.1971) is Klaus Schwab.

Klaus Schwab is the king of European grifters, who has joined those not only perpetuating a campaign of environmental doom, but profiting big time from such social agitation and the financial uncertainty it has brought to the energy and commodity sectors, as well as the billions of billions made available by governments throwing tax-dollars at their fellow lobbyist operating in that vein.

Schwabs’ world view is that elected government is to be replaced by “globalist corporate stakeholders manifesting a paradigm of international governance.”

It’s absolutely shocking the number of elected, ranking government officials today, who are onboard for that future, and are devotees of the Schwab “reset”.

Reply to  Philip CM

Klaus Schwab was trained by Henry Kissinger with guidance from the CIA.
The belief system of fascism and authoritarian control is not new and not limited to Europe. Goebbels was impressed and tried to emulate the propagandists in FDR’s administration. I’m sure it has roots far into the past.

“Klaus Schwab was trained by Henry Kissinger with guidance from the CIA.”

I believe this to be rank hyperbole. That Schwab attended Harvard while Kissinger was there is so needle in the haystack, like.

Kissinger was a member of the faculty in the Department of Government where he served as the director of the Harvard International Seminar between 1951 and 1971. How many could be linked to him this causally?

The conspiracy doesn’t serve on that front nor one other. This being Kissinger’s life long identity as a ‘servant of government’, his nationalism and his attachment to the American dream, and all that entails, is light years removed from Schwabs’ crude ideal of a globalist-oligarchic-corporatism in lieu of elected government.

But, Kissinger is founding member of WEF and Trilateral Commission. His most famous saying “If you control the food, you control a nation. If you control the energy, you control a region. If you control the money, you control the world.” will last forever. You should also check his collaboration with Zbigniew Brzezinski.

Nope. Kissinger is not a founding member of either of these groups.
Professor Klaus Schwab founded what was originally called the European Management Forum, and his ideal of corporations joining to influence the communities within which they operate, including government(s) is all Klaus Schwab. The CAGW/COVID-19 business and the rise of the petulant authoritarian in western government has (IMO) brought Schwab into a circle of power and influence he had previously been denied… prior to the billions upon billions of tax dollars invested in global redistribution.

You should also check his collaboration with Zbigniew Brzezinski.
I don’t know what you mean by collaboration as both were advisors to different American Presidents and each had their own very different methodology/approach to foreign affairs and America’s role there in.

“If you control the food, you control a nation. If you control the energy, you control a region. If you control the money, you control the world.”
Which of that is untrue? Want a conspiracy along those lines, forget Kissinger and focus on globalist like Schwab, and the likes of the Clinton’s, Bill Gates, and others who are actively working against their own citizen’s best interests by killing off their energy independeance and farming sector. Or like using COVID-19 fear to get governments to make policies where private, globally run health companies are given access to individuals DNA to advance gene therapies to be guided by recommendations from the World Health Organization. Google WEF, gene therapy.
Serious sell off of the individuals sovereignty by governments to the unelected U.N..

Thank you. I appreciate that. Let me see if I can explain myself a little better.
I try to stay away from conspiracy driven “history” and it’s assumptions based on loosely connected circumstances and try to maintain a objective view based on what I can actually ?know? in the current world. I’m not saying it’s easy because it isn’t. Certainly not in this world of faux news and the wholesale drift of the legacy media (globally speaking) towards politicized opinion laden reportage as news. There is a lot of Bilderberg, Illuminati chaff in the wind when it comes to certain subject matter, especially anything related to globalism.
I find it more productive to study on Europe’s dangerous green energy policies exacerbated by Russia’s invasion of the Ukraine. What happened in Sri Lanka with net zero/organic agriculture. What the Dutch are doing to their farmers, what Canada is doing to their farmers, New Zealand govt’s usurpation of privately held water rights, Australia’s destructive green energy policies. The aftermath of COVID-19 mandates globally and the future of health policy around vaccines. The rise of the petty authoritarian in western political culture. And yeah, the WEF because I lean towards individual sovereignty and nationalism, and away from corporatism and globalism and the idea of a one world government, and I’ve been able to link all of the countries leadership that I reference above to the WEF and it’s ideals. No secret cabals necessary. It’s brazenly out in the open.

This form of argument where they push a controversial (radical) stance, then retreat back into an easily defensible position when challenged is an example motte-and-bailey fallacy. This fallacious form of argument is a favorite amongst Marxists and other authoritarians on many fronts, from climate to gender. They push a radical position, but retreat (temporarily) when challenged.

MarkH What I’ve seen is they push an extremely radical position, then retreat to an only slightly radical position which then seems reasonable by comparison, thus somewhat normalizing it. Overton Window.
Although the retreat part seems to have been dropped lately.
