Here’s a thread for everyone to list all their complaints, and even the occasional compliment on the operation and appearance of the new theme.
We’ve seen comments coming in through through emails and the contact us forms, but here is a centralized repository for comment.
UPDATE – From Anthony
I have already done the following items to improve the look:
- Darkened the text in posts and comments from the original look to improve contrast
- Enabled our new commenting system that allows you to rate comments and to edit them after the fact (see the gear icon)
- Put back the blogroll
- Misc other small tweaks.
Note that I’ll look at every comment, but I have no patience for people that are running an ancient browser (like Internet Explorer 8) or and old version of Firefox….or some weird Linux/Centos/Chromium variant that isn’t compliant – we can’t help you there. Likewise, if you are still running on Windows XP, and complaining about load times, broken things etc. – please don’t.
Now is a good time for everybody to upgrade their systems to be in the present rather than the past.
I welcome comments on real issues, and ideas for improvement. With every change, there are some who don’t like change simply because of change. I can’t help you there, as we are moving forward to be more effective in what will become a very ugly climate fight this year.
Thanks and kind regards,
Anthony Watts

I love your site Anthony! I would like to see a new tab/sub-tab; call it what you will, but keep a running list of the most ridiculus climate studies, things like Climate Change Will Lead to Increased Prostitution. You could name it something like Shameless. I have noted that you have a Goreathon subpage.
Happy New Year,
Speed
Thank you Anthony. With the technological nightmare that exists today, good content delivered in an understandable way is greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work.
I suggest that whenever Mosher, Stokes or the other clown comment, you put a warning in red indicating their comments are greatly disputed.
except for Mosh’s drive-bys, his longer, more explained posts are usually very much worth considering and heeding. Same with Nick S. When they take the time to respond with reasoned critiques and explanations, it helps everyone (well, most everyone) not get too full of themselves.
The majority of people here are singing from the same hymn sheet and it is good to read other considered points of view. If you believe someone like Nick is a ‘clown’ then you should be easily able to defeat him in debate. Nick is unfailingly polite and writes at great length.
When Mosh provides one of his reasoned responses he is also very much worth listening to. His drive by style he has developed over the last few years is irritating though

One of the things that has made WUWT what it is is that all views are welcome as long as they abide by the site’s policies. (The site’s policies can be found under “ABOUT” in the title bar.)
“You have to agree with me!” is NOT one of the site’s policies.
Regarding the new format: I hit “reply” to tonyb then realized my comment should be a reply to Independent_George.
I looked for but didn’t see a “Cancel Reply” button. Did I just miss it?

cricket confuses me.
that constant chirping, a bit much for you ? 😉
I like it now I have adjusted but occasionally I am unsure if when I give a high rating if I am doing the right thing as I am not sure which side I am supporting.
I just figure sometimes that the person bringing it to our attention deserves it.
I like being able to upvote posts again as sometimes that saves a post myself.
Well done everyone.
It’s just fine Anthony. I don’t know what we skeptics would do without the WUWT website. It has changed history for the better, in so many ways.
“I don’t know what we skeptics would do without the WUWT website.”
Isn’t that the truth!
I generally like the new look:

Dislikes:
Shouldn’t this have been done on 12/23? As part of the Airing of Grievances?
I like the new look and the ability to edit a post as I am a terrible speller.
I like it!!!
Yay! I can post images here at WUWT again (-:

Posting from my files is kind of crappy but from a URL it works great:
Careful.
Don’t abuse the privilege.
I LOVE the changes to this set up.
The one dislike I have are the dim green person names, maybe have them bolded or bigger?
Makes it easier for my old eyes to read them well when I scroll the thread as a Moderator…….
I noticed that some have names have labels “Admin” and “Editor”.
(I haven’t seen a comment from Anthony or Charles the Moderator yet.)
I assume these indicate permission levels. May I suggest a change.
Anthony: “Yoda” level
CtM: “Jedi Master” level
Admin: “Jedi” level
Editor: “Jedi Apprentice” level
No? Just a thought. 😎
I think it is most excellent to look at and use. My Safari v.14.0.2 handles all aspects well, loads quickly and is smooth.
Well done to the WUWT team for another great innovation. Bravo.
Top blogging site for utility now. so thats a ++++
issues are all with styling ad colors and have been voiced by others already. I endorse all the comments abut style and agree with every one.
Yep.Not good.
On my ipad I get one column of articles and one of adds. I don’t mind discrete adds but half the page seriously puts me off reading this site. Even with Ghostery, I only get one column of articles and a blamk half screen. On my Mac it is more discrete.
It looks crisp, clean and modern… nice job!
Looks great! Ability to like posts is, well it is what it is, but I find it helps me to support good comments and keeps me from blathering. Editing capability – haven’t tried it yet, but maybe this comment will make me learn it.
So, thanks very much Anthony and Charles and the rest.
I like it
My only niggle is the subscribe button didn’t work for me – it could be my browser (Brave with shields down) – although notification of replies to my comment works
I’ll keep trying
Pretty much like it ok. Love being able to rate comments! My biggest gripe is that Google puts ads at the bottom of the screen, covering content. Sometimes I can make them go away, sometimes the blank box remains, still covering content.
Greetings to you, Pamela:
With all due respect to you and yours, and any others here who use the browser I think you are using, I would suggest that perhaps you should consider migrating away from that browser.
Since I found out about it, I’ve stuck with Firefox (my old favorite, Netscape, was absorbed by someone, not sure who, but in it’s day, it was beyond reproach). I read your comment, as well as comments by others, and have no knowledge of ‘ads covering up content’, as you say. My screen on my computer is completely free of any extraneous ads or other cover-ups.
And, YES! I click on those ‘right-side ads’ to send some revenue to Anthony. Some are quite funny (even if they use deception to get you to click on it, i.e., the ‘topic’ of the presentation is not what you see when you go to the “article”). I’ve tried reading those ‘click-baits’ with and without an AdBlock-type of software, and without an AdBlock, they are almost unreadable.
If I may, and again with all due respect, I would encourage everyone to stop using the “G-word” browser, and if you have it, dump YouTwitFace as fast as you can, and see about using a search engine such as DuckDuckGo, or anything besides “G-word” search engine. If there’s a person in this Universe with a small digital footprint, it just might be yours truly (and no, I don’t even have a cell phone, Praise the Lord, and I hope I leave this planet without having ever touched one … … … SmartPhones make people stupid; SmartPhones make stupid people).
And, just in case you’re wondering about the overly-long handle, I’ve done a lot of posting at Jo’s, and when the resident trolls sling invective at me, I generally adopt the terminology they use for my character. It’s reached the point where I may need to go back to the original invective applied to me by one Mr. Harry “TwinOtter”, whom I refer to as “Dr. DeHavilland”. After I adopted his moniker for me, I saw an historical documentary on “Vlad the Impaler”, and learned that this was a real person in the past, and likely the inspiration for ‘Dracula’.
Regards to you and yours, and a very Happy New Year to us all, but especially Anthony and the phenomenal team of mods,
Vlad
P.S. Tried posting my entire “handle”, and found out that it will only allow a few characters for the name — — Anthony!!!! This would be a “fix” I’d be in favor of!!! The entire handle (as of now) is “The HyperVentilating, Depraved, and MOST Deplorable (and still asleep) Vlad the Impaler”. Yes, I’m willing to go back to just ‘Vlad the Impaler’, but let us recall ‘Crispin in Waterloo (actually in Beijing … )’ and those sorts of handles … … …
One of the sales reps I deal with is originally from Transylvania. Vlad was not only a historical figure, he is still considered a national hero there, and for good reason.
That was my take; at first, I thought “Dr. DeHavilland” was just making things up, then I learned this was an historical figure. I think I earned the moniker as I usually ended up skewering his arguments (ya know, with things like, ‘science’, and ‘logic’, and a geological perspective that most are unaware of … … … ).
Best Regards to all,
Vlad
Since I’ve made comments here I’ve only two different “handles”.
I made my first comment back … 2012? … after I’d read it for awhile.
I have a Government job. Even back then, my job could have been at stake due to the “Green Goons”. When I realized I was going to be a (semi)-regular commenter, I changed my handle. (Well, aside the occasional typos, I’ve never changed it.) But I sent Anthony an email telling I was going to do it and why.
PS I’ve never changed my email.
But look at it from WUWT’s side.
There are … harassers … all the time. They switch handles, email addresses to get around the site’s policies to continue to disrupt WUWT.
At least keep the same email address so they can “match signatures”.
This site is a real education on so many subjects, much appreciated and much improved, especially comments. Things that I’m not keen on I’ll just avoid, like the rolling banner and the voting.
The “notification” feature seems to inform me of all new comments, even if I select replies to my comment only.
Opera Version: 73.0.3856.284.
The red though is way too commie for me. 😉
All the best for the coming year.
Hey, I love the new design! I hate that I have to get used to it, but this is my own problem. This is a great forum that cannot be operated at no cost. So users have to finance this or accept the advertising. Anthony and others please continue your great work.
my pc with xp broke around the time you changed.
until it broke I saw no reason to fixit;-)
my linux mint 19 is handling the page just fine and Im loving being able to read the pages clearly, and the vote and edits great!
reds not my fave colour but thats decor , and of no importance.
in the scheme of whats IN the pages I appreciate the masses of hard work by all to move and reset the entire site and data
cheers to all concerned
Glad the blog roll is back.
It looks like you will be able to add variations on an as need basis which will lead to further improvements over time.
Thumbs up
Still think the thick red top ribbon shouldn’t need to be two rows thick – one too many.
Bingo! Been wanting to insert images for a long time. Those infected with the CAGW virus (The CAGWISTS) hate this image, much preferring to hide behind manipulated anomalies. I have fun with this and other images on Quora challenging their ability to cope with them.
Great that I can now better contribute to the WUWT comments.
My thanks and appreciation to all at WUWT.

It looks so professional I now hesitate to make my lame comments. A major step forward — mega-kudos!
