You have to wonder, is it ego combined with narcissism that prompts things like this?
Dr. Mann, (or as Mark Steyn calls him – Dr. Fraudpants) inventor of the splice-o-matic pre-seived climate hockey stick thinks that fire danger is driven by climate change (newsflash – it’s summer) and that professionals won’t be able to handle a fireworks display on the fourth of July.

I don’t know how Mann managed to cram so much wrongness into a single tweet, but then again, he’s had years to perfect it. Now imagine the kind of hateful bias you see on display in that tweet applied to his work. Does anyone really think he can be an unbiased scientist with that sort of vitriol coming out of his mind?
Bottom line: Nothing happened. No fires, no disaster.
President Trump delivered a rousing speech, complete with patriotic visuals, something America needs right now.
Once again, his predictions of “climate-change fueled fire danger” were a big nothing-burger. Clearly, Mann’s ego is bigger than his intellect. He’s been ordered to pay up, I predict he’ll bail on that.
UPDATE: Meanwhile, the #silent majority in Los Angeles gives the collective finger to the left and the “climate crisis”. This video from last night was taken by a local TV station in a news helicopter. Similar “illegal” displays were seen and heard throughout the United States that night.

Dear Anthony,
after calling this your worst post so far, I got censored.
Let´s check a few facts then, shall we?
Is there a Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868, signed amidst ongoing conflicts between Natives and Western expansion settlers, the US recognized Black Hills as part of the Great Sioux Reservation.
Is it a stupid idea to have big fireworks in an area with a high fire risk? More particular, were fires caused by 4th July fireworks at Mount Rushmore in the past?
Gatherings like the one at Mount Rushmore help to spread the Corona virus if and when proper health care is neglected and Trump is spearheading this dangerous and stupid trend.
The tribal leader in south Dakota rightfully point out, that they will be the ones suffering illness and needless death as result of this unwise behavior.
Is the Black lives matter a movement formed after the needless death of an African-American by very wrongheaded policemen almost all of them were prosecuted as Criminals afterwards. It is the primary goal of that movement to prevent such a thing ever to happen again.
The fact that Trump is not willing to make a single move to help preventing these crimes supports racism.
And I do not think Trump is a racist himself, he just calculates that the can gain votes for himself that way.
I really think he does care much about anything but himself.
Yet his speech is highly inflamatory, it belittles the legitimize cause of a peaceful movement, by calling all of them a fascist mob.
I really hope you start thinking about facts instead of censoring, I have seen too much if this at RealClimate.

Sadly, there is information in comments above which contradict your phony narratives.
Don’t they even pay you to read previous comments? Hint: it’s a good technique to learn. It enhances discourse, if that is what you want, which I doubt.
almost funny.. and the internet tells you why the information in some posts is wrong.. we can debate like 4 year olds if you insist.
If you find anything wrong please explain why and educate me/us.

What a moron, grow up and keep your hack-ass off this website!
Fool. LoN was or seems to be born without a brain
(1) Neither the US nor Natives adhered to the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868, just as the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1851 had failed. The 1868 treaty was annulled in the Indian Appropriations Bill of 1876 and Manypenney Agreement of 1877. Both pre-date Trump’s presidency by over a century. There have been lawsuits that the Sioux have won, but they didn’t accept payment. Obama paid lip-service to the issue, visited there, and did nothing. Mt. Rushmore has been visited by probably every president and most serious presidential candidates since it was completed. But with Trump, there’s a problem?
(2) There were strict guidelines put in place because of the fire risk, along with approval and guidelines from consultants who do this for a living. It wasn’t amateur hour.
(3) Outdoor gatherings seem to be happening everywhere. Why not here? Who is “they” who will be suffering from COVID-19…Native Americans? Give me a break. Who is this person you call “the tribal leader in south Dakota?” There are nine tribes (eight of them Sioux) in South Dakota.
(4) Blah blah blah. You heard what you wanted to hear. BLM has lost some legitimacy of their cause on their own. Trump was rightfully speaking-out. BLM is free to clean its act up and separate themselves from the anti-semetic and Antifa folks co-opting their movement, too. It is NOT the “primary goal” of BLM to prevent deaths of African Americans by police officers, nor was it “formed after the needless death of an African-American by a very wrongheaded policemen almost all of them were prosecuted as Criminals afterwards.” It was founded in 2013 response to Trayvon Martin’s shooting death and the acquittal of George Zimmerman, who was NOT a police officer. Their own website states that its “mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes.”
You had two chances to write this post, and that is what you came up with?
Ah, finally some arguments…
(1) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_v._Sioux_Nation_of_Indians)
Supreme Court decision
The issue was whether the Sioux had already received just compensation for their land, and the Court affirmed the Claims Court’s decision that they never had.
=> This seems to settle the ownership and the legal owners are entitled to decline the penny-compensation for their holy land!
(2) there was a fire risk and in particular the owner of the land spoke out against a firework
(3) “Give me a break.” Why should I, because your argument is flawed? In any other state with huge outdoor meeting the CV surged at the location of these meetings. Julian Bear Runner is the tribal leader speaking out against this event.
(4) “Blah blah blah. You heard what you wanted to hear. ” You too seem to have hearing difficulties, can you hear this:
https://www.politico.com/news/2020/07/06/racial-disparities-families-struggle-food-348810
Just one random news article, but it speaks loud and clear: This has to change in a nation where everybody is equal and a president not addressing this racial problem, but intensifying it for personal gain is not right at this job!
But I thank you for trying to bring facts as flawed as they might be, they are in stark contrast to other answers. I give you, that I got some details wrong, but the core of the matter stands.
I never thought that I would stand up and defend anything Mann said.
You still haven’t read about the fire risk above, you’ve swallowed the Fauci et al view of this politically frazzled pandemic and now you are following the Piltdown Mann down this rabbit hole of false narrative used for the purpose of gaining power.
De bon gout!
==========
Get it through your head and into your gut that Mann et al perpetrated this scientific fraud in order to gain power for politicians who wouldn’t gain power legitimately.
You seem useful.

Really you are useful, an anomaly who understands the chicanery of the Piltdown Mann but idiotically bamboozled in too many other ways.
A rara avis. I salute you as a harbinger of hope.

What does black America want?:

Thank you for the link, Jon!
Unfortunately, this lady confuses a quite few things.
Even if 95% of all black homicides are committed by black males, it is wrong to have any unnecessary death by the police force, even if the person killed is a criminal, the job of the police is still to protect his rights and life! (A case of justified shooting is of course different, but that is not what happened to Floyd)
“Defund the police” is a slogan calling for necessary changes not anarchy or leaving a police officer out in the cold without proper equipment and support.
Here is a random web article discussing it, it makes sense what she says:
https://www.5minutesformom.com/153322/defund-the-police/
The video claim that non-white people have equality in this country is wrong (earlier I posted that article about a basic need.. food).
Can you imagine walking by a glorified statue of a man who within his right at that time tortured and killed an ancestor of yours? Does that really not creep you out? I dont want or need a statue like that and I dont think it is about statues at all.. like Trump speeches (he carefully walks the line not saying anything racist, but denies any rights to the peaceful protestors cause) it is all about keeping the real existing inequality.
The majority of the protester are non-violent and have a good reason for their protests.
Any criminal should be identified, arrested and trialed and the police should have proper means to do so at any time! – no matter of the skin color or if the person was wearing an uniform at that time.
You don’t understand that much of this race-baiting is paid for by the same sort of people who finance Mann and you may be too young to remember when real progress was being made toward equality and understanding among all races.
This acting is regressive; it is unsustainable.
======
“like Trump speeches (he carefully walks the line not saying anything racist, but denies any rights to the peaceful protestors cause”
Trump distinguishes between peaceful protestors and anarchists. Trump is criticizig the anarchists. he is not criticizing the protests over George Floyd.
The Leftwing Media, and you apparently, have distorted what Trump is saying and claim he is racist for criticizing anarchists, whom you call “peaceful protestors”. The Media is disengenously equating peaceful protesters with anarchists as a means of harming Trump.
Most of the people out on the streets right now are anarchists, not legitimate protesters.
And then Fox News runs a banner headline this morning proclaiming “Violence all across America”.
Well, that’s not true. About 10 Democrat big cities are experiencing increased shootings and deaths because the Democrat big cities are hamstringing the police.
But the rest of the naton is not involved in this. No riots or upswing in shootings in my State, and lots of other States, too. It’s as peaceful as it can be around here. But you wouldn’t know that listening to Fox News.
Fox News is putting out misleading information. They are getting bad about doing this. It must be their new Lefty bosses getting involved. They push the leftwig narrative more than ever now.
“Can you imagine walking by a glorified statue of a man who within his right at that time tortured and killed an ancestor of yours?”
Other than Vladimir Lenin, which subject of a statue in the United States deliberately tortured and killed slaves?
“Trump distinguishes between peaceful protestors and anarchists. ”
That is incorrect! Or kindly point out where he does such a distinction:
https://www.rev.com/blog/transcripts/donald-trump-speech-transcript-at-mount-rushmore-4th-of-july-event
I am glad, that we seem on the same page, that such a distinction is very necessary and what it means if Trump cannot not make such a distinction, would you kindly explain that to “kim”, he seems troubled with that concept.
“which subject of a statue in the United States deliberately tortured and killed slaves?”
Like the policemen, it does not matter if it was deliberate or even accidental killing, none of it was heroic and it should be appalling to any human being!
I see your one of the left who’s filled with hate, statues depict a person from the past ,who does not have a statue of themselves because they were a slaver ,that’s incidental to the celebration of a person, slavery was the norm 2/300 years ago you can not ridicule a dead person for something they may or may of done in the past be it indirect or direct, your in denial of the main reason a person is celebrated, that shows little respect on your behalf, anyone who destroys ,removes, defaces a statue is breaking the law, unlike the majority of slavers who were not breaking the law, be it amoral or not it was not illegal.
So what are you doing against modern slavery are you jetting all over the world fighting real slavery , that’s what matters now not something that happened over 200 years ago, I doubt your doing anything at all, except
You and your kind are causing more hate and resentment than we have seen for a long time.
@Laws of Nature,
My BS meter went off about 30 years ago about the “Global Warming Crisis” ie. the “Climate Change Crisis”
And now after the past 3 weeks or so, my BS meter has gone off again in regards to the BLM, black lives matter movement, To me it’s just another Marxist movement, – thanks for watching the link, but Candace Owens is much more than what’s in that link. She has been black her whole life, I would suggest you might take the time to see from where she is coming from on some other of her videos, etc.
– JPP
You are aware, that you or your link did not contradicted anything I wrote so far.. maybe your BS meter got worse over time. I know Mann was carrying this message, but that does not mean he is automatically wrong about everything non-climate related.
I restate my message:
Fireworks in that area are stupid and should not be done against the will of the owner of that area (according to the supreme courts decision). Who is absolutely in his right to like one politician and dislike another.
The Corona virus is spread by gatherings like that one and not wearing proper protection is very stupid.
There is no racial equality in this country and peaceful protests are an expression of that opinion which Trump does not acknowledges, he rather gives inflammatory speeches insulting said peaceful protesters.
Hopeless harbinger; a concern troll.
========
LoN
You opined, “Fireworks in that area are stupid and should not be done… The Corona virus is spread by gatherings like that one and not wearing proper protection is very stupid.”
Since there were no fires started by the fireworks, and there have been no outbreaks of COVID-19 subsequent to the gathering, how should an objective person rate your opinion? You can’t even say, “See, I told you so!” Might it be that you are overly excitable and give too much credence to your personal opinion?
I suspect The Piltdown Mann is as managed as Greta Thunberg.
Remember in one of the Climategate emails he spoke of the need of the ‘Cause’ for his brand of of sciency chicanery. If not there, elsewhere and, heh, for the rest of time.
He’ll not do well in the history of science, but he’ll be there ‘til the end of time for his egregious faults.
His devotees, like that much sung husband, will be ‘praying for the end of time’, for they are surely stuck with him for ever.
Chained to the Crook’t Stick. Can’t dump him without dumping the Stick and there is allowance nor mood for iconoclastery.
==================
I am so proud of the Los Angelinos for defying Herr Newsom’s diktats on fireworks this Fourth, especially to the extent they did. Virginia has similar bans, but the fireworks could be heard for miles last night. I was stuck at home, since I feel like I’m coming down with something and thought it best not to go out and about. But these acts of defiance are what the Fourth is all about – and, moreover, what it should be all about.
The Piltdown Mann will always be remembered as a disgrace to his profession! He seems to have all the competence of a Paul Krugman when it comes to making accurate predictions, especially about VSGPDJT. Like they and others afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome helped to kill thousands of Americans from the ChiCom-19 Virus (Wu WHO Flu) by discouraging or preventing the use of HQC and zinc as a prophylactic.
We need to call for the defunding and abolition of the DemoKKKrat Party since they are the party of slavery and the KKK; not to mention the obvious systemic racism inherent in many of their criminally run cities and states! Could black citizens in Chicago or Baltimore receive any worse treatment if they were governed by the Bigfoot of 2020; the white supremacists? How could their schools be any worse and how would their job opportunities be any less? Just like the far left to create a problem and claim to solve it by making things worse! But then divide and conquer is about the oldest trick in human history.
As a Brit I am hell of a proud with what you guys have done since you kicked our king out!
Well done! A justified and good celebration, keep it up!
As an American it’s ‘Hella proud’.
We just refused to pay our share of the colonial defense costs in order to provoke our urge to self-determination. Sam Adams was a political genius and he had a little help.
Did you know that the rebels who went out to meet the British approaching Concord turned around and escorted them into town with a fife and drum parade?
============
The Americans @ur momisugly Lexington had dispersed at the British approach but had clumsily reformed,
probably on the orders of Sam Adams, who was hiding in a house on or near the Green.
Personally, I’m glad he risked others’ lives rather than his own.
=========
Actually Adams and Hancock were both hiding in the house of Hancock’s cousin and capturing or killing them was one of the objectives given the British officers by their commander, Thomas Gage. The other was of course to destroy the militia armory in Concord.
Har rah!
Thanks for reminding me of this detail from Tourtelotte’s wonderful little book. I remembered the picturesque details, you remembered an important one. It further justifies Adams’ stance and further damns the British intelligence, as he and Dandy John were only yards from the green where men and boys died.

Great video of fireworks over Los Angeles!
I’m sure Easton will make a hockey stick coated with fire retardant for Michael Mann.
From the article: “UPDATE: Meanwhile, the #silent majority in Los Angeles gives the collective finger to the left and the “climate crisis”. This video from last night was taken by a local TV station in a news helicopter. Similar “illegal” displays were seen and heard throughout the United States that night.”
I would have to say that there were more fireworks set off this July 4th, than in the past, around this area. Some people were setting them off the next day, too.
Holy crap. I wonder how many millions of dollars were spent on private fireworks this year? My neighborhood sounded like a war zone.
Another thought: how safe was it for that helicopter to be flying around LA on 4th of July night? How many gang-bangers were adding to the “fireworks” display by firing their gats into the air?
While China takes over the hard sciences after taking over production and trade, the west is left with agenda science, social engineered teaching content, and non serious players on faculty. Mann is part of the first wave of this transition that will be much more evident in the next five years and obvious in 10 years. At that point Americans will have the same blend of over priced universities with a lot less relevance–there will be nothing left to take or steal.
“Trump at Mount Rushmore: Progressives deride his defense of America’s founding principles.” By The Editorial Board at WSJ.com on July 5, 2020:
“President Trump delivered one of the best speeches of his Presidency Friday evening at Mount Rushmore, and for evidence consider the echo-chamber headlines above. The chorus of independent media voices understands that Mr. Trump is trying to rally the country in defense of traditional American principles that are now under radical and unprecedented assault.
“Dark? In most respects Mr. Trump’s speech was a familiar Fourth of July ode to liberty and U.S. achievement that any President might have delivered in front of an American landmark. “No nation has done more to advance the human condition than the United States of America. And no people have done more to promote human progress than the citizens of our great nation,” he said.
“Contrary to the media reporting, the America Mr. Trump described is one of genuine racial equality and diversity. He highlighted the central ideal of the Declaration of Independence that “all men are created equal.” As he rightly put it, “these immortal words set in motion the unstoppable march of freedom” that included the abolition of slavery more than a half century later. …
“But this year even Mr. Trump’s speech backdrop, Mount Rushmore with its four presidential faces, is politically charged. Each of those Presidents—Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt—is under assault for ancient sins against modern values, as progressives seek to expunge their statues and even their names from American life. Mr. Trump’s great offense against the culturally ascendant progressives was to defend these presidential legacies.
“Divisive? Mr. Trump’s speech was certainly direct, in his typical style. But it was only divisive if you haven’t been paying attention to the divisions now being stoked on the political left across American institutions. Mr. Trump had the temerity to point out that the last few weeks have seen an explosion of “cancel culture—driving people from their jobs, shaming dissenters, and demanding total submission from anyone who disagrees.”
“Any one of these events would be remarkable, but together with literally thousands of others around the country they represent precisely what Mr. Trump describes—a left-wing cultural revolution against traditional American values of free speech and political tolerance. And he called for Americans not to cower but to oppose this assault:
“We must demand that our children are taught once again to see America as did Reverend Martin Luther King, when he said that the Founders had signed ‘a promissory note’ to every future generation. Dr. King saw that the mission of justice required us to fully embrace our founding ideals. . . . He called on his fellow citizens not to rip down their heritage, but to live up to their heritage.” …
“Mr. Trump is far from the ideal spokesman for this message given that he has often used the politics of division himself. But liberal elites have created this opening for him by failing to stand up against the radicals who are using the justified anger at the killing of George Floyd as a cudgel to hijack America’s liberal institutions and impose their intolerant political views on everyone else.
“No doubt Mr. Trump hopes this theme can restart his election campaign, and for once he gave a speech that was about something more than himself. Stay on script, add a second-term agenda, and he might even have a chance. But whatever the result in November, Mr. Trump’s Mount Rushmore theme isn’t going away. Progressive elites are courting a backlash that will have more than one champion. “
Hmm… I wonder if a U.S. citizen could purchase Mann’s unpaid Canadian court ordered debt to Tim Ball (a Canadian citizen) and collect in the United States’s judicial system? Be fun to watch.
Having a Canadian Court issue an extradition warrant issued to Mann in the United States for Contempt of Court would be equally fun. (Although, I suppose many Canadians are now relieved to know Mann can’t set foot in Canada without being detained and thus might not press the point.)
In any event, it would appear Steny’s prior observation of Mann’s character that led to the U.S. liable lawsuit were objectively right… in that it has been demonstrated that Mann does, in fact, belong in a “State Pen”… as, last I looked, Contempt to Court is a jail-able offense.
Presenting Mann with a Canadian extradition warrant in front of a U.S. Judge would no doubt help underscore that point within the U.S. judicial system.
One of the biggest useful idiots in the Marxist scam is wrong again??! I say STILL…But either way a useful idiot for the Marxist movement and nothing else.
