Teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg pressed world leaders to cut carbon emissions at the World Economic Forum on Tuesday in Davos, Switzerland.

Thunberg, Time’s 2019 Person of the Year, spoke during a panel discussion after President Donald Trump gave a 30-minute address at the forum.

“Let’s be clear. We don’t need a ‘low carbon economy.’ We don’t need to ‘lower emissions,’” Thunberg, 17, said, according to The New York Times.

“Our emissions have to stop if we are to have a chance to stay below the 1.5-degree target,” she added. (RELATED: Time Magazine Named Climate Activist Greta Thunberg Its ‘Person Of The Year,’ But What Is The Magazine’s Carbon Footprint?)

The annual gathering kicked off Tuesday at the Swiss ski resort of Davos, the highest town in Europe.

“One year ago I came to Davos and told you that our house is on fire,” Thunberg said.

“Our house is still on fire,” the Swedish climate activist added. “Your inaction is fueling the flames by the hour.”

[QUOTE FROM GRETA THUNDERMOUTH] “One year ago I came to Davos and told you that our house is on fire,” Thunberg said.

“Our house is still on fire,” the Swedish climate activist added. “Your inaction is fueling the flames by the hour.” [END QUOTE]

If Davos is the highest (altitude) town in Europe, in January it must be covered in snow. If a fire started anywhere in town, it could be quickly put out by the nearest diesel-powered snowplow.

By the way, there are probably (contained) fires burning in furnaces to keep the room warm in which Greta is speaking. If she really wants zero CO2 emissions, they should have turned off the furnaces last week and let Greta give her speech at ambient temperature in January in Davos. She’s from Sweden, so she should be used to the cold, if her own house is unheated.

By the way, January is not the normal growing season in the Swiss Alps. How much CO2 was emitted transporting food up there, which was grown elsewhere? Was Greta fasting while she was there?

Old Man Winter is a great (seasonal) remedy for global warming!

I couldn’t find information on the web about how Great got there. It was by train last year.

I looked up information on how much it costs to buy a ticket to the WEF. Here’s a 2011 article that explains it:
https://www.businessinsider.com.au/costs-of-davos-2011-1?r=US&IR=T
and also claims to know the real reason people attend the forum.

Here are the 2019 costs:

No problem, if someone else is paying for it.

And there’s the $75 hamburger platter (how dare you!):

Again, no problem, if someone else is paying for it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if when Greta grows up- and gets a college degree- she may change her tune. If she’s really all that intelligent she may finally take a serious look at why skeptics are skeptical- and perhaps she’ll be converted! 🙂 Then of course, she’ll be ignored by the MSM or slammed as having mental health issues.

Grown men, listening to a dumb kid…

I have seen it pointed out that Greta exhibits the symptoms of Foetal Alcohol Syndrome. It is an incurable condition. Sufferers have a much reduced life expectancy – typically only in their thirties. When she says we only have 12 years left she may be referring to her own expectation for herself. Of course, her parents may well feel guilt for her condition, and seek vicariously to make a short life leave a mark in compensation.
