h/t Breitbart; James Cameron, the film director who brought us Avatar and Titanic, is furious people have not “woken up” about climate change.

James Cameron on the Climate Crisis: ‘People Need to Wake the F–k Up’

By MATT DONNELLY

This power couple has been championing environmentalist causes for decades. Suzy Amis Cameron has led a charge toward plant-based eating in efforts to reduce the dramatic carbon footprint that meat protein creates. James Cameron, the filmmaker behind classics such as “Titanic,” has woven climate-conscious themes into franchises like “Avatar.” He tells Variety the forthcoming three sequels will do the same.

The two are investors in the plant-based company Verdient Foods and contribute to numerous eco-causes, including Global Green and Oceana. Cameron does not mince words in sharing his thoughts on apathy about the climate crisis.

“People need to wake the f–k up,” the Oscar winner says. “We’re going the wrong direction as fast as possible. I like to say that we’re like Thelma and Louise. We’re driving straight toward the canyon at 90 miles per hour with the radio cranked up and the top down.”

The rest of the article is kind of a plug for James and his wife Suzy’s plant based food products.

Obviously I don’t agree with James Cameron’s dire climate pessimism, but as a fellow businessman I understand how frustrating it can be when people don’t rush to embrace your new product.

So here’s a thought Cameron; if you send me a sample of your Verdient Foods plant based food products, I’ll write a review for WUWT, and help you reach an audience beyond the vegan liberal climate worriers you currently appear to target.

Don’t we already have plant based food products? I just ate an orange. What does plant based actually mean? there is a base of plant products with other crap mixed in? Maybe this is where you add the insects.

I suggest that Cameron do a new movie called The Scaminator, … about a huge blob that tries to take over the world by possessing people’s minds with false beliefs.

Listen, and understand. That scaminator is out there. It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead-brained into believing in human-caused climate catastrophe.

“I like to say that we’re like Thelma and Louise. We’re driving straight toward the canyon at 90 miles per hour with the radio cranked up and the top down.”

Maybe somebody should explain to Slippin’ Jimmy that “Thelma and Louise” was not a documentary, and is as fictional as CAGW.

The first Avatar movie stunk. I cant imagine the sequels will be any better.

Agree! The plot was childishly predictable.

The movie later made me wonder what it must be like down underneath the “mother” tree. I mean, for all those sleeping in the tree, there were no obvious bathroom facilities. So when nature calls what happens? Just let fly and let the “bombs” fall where they may? What a mess…
Probably all vegan poo though.

Well, when your product is based upon perpetrating a fraud, I’m afraid I can’t work up any sympathy that your business model has failed.

On a side-note, I love guys like Cameron who make their careers on hyper-violent movies like Rambo, Terminator, Aliens, and then get ‘socially conscious’ after they’ve made their own pot.

James Cameron’s biggest problem here seems to be that people have “Woken the F*ck Up”.

I take particular pleasure in sneering at the ‘great and the good’ as they have their hissy fits. Warms the cockles it does!

Eric, I doubt Cameron frequents this web site. Don’t hold your breath waiting for his products to arrive (although he’d like that as you wouldn’t be exhaling CO2 😉 )

Interesting approach to marketing your products, swear at and insult your potential buyers.

When these shysters start padding their dire warnings with four-letter words, you know they are doing it to gain attention and prove how “woke” they are to everyone. Personally when I hear some alarmist spouting off cuss words, I shrug, change sites or switch the channel.

My only regret wrt people eating meat is that Chick-Fil-A is a privately owned company, and I can’t buy stock in it.

What is it with all these Canadians like James Cameron, David Suzuki, Neil Young, Pamela Anderson etc, and dozen’s of other similar folk who all want to preach at everyone while they are doing the exact opposite of what they are preaching about? Have they no shame?

Shame is what we deplorables are supposed to have when we don’t immediately and enthusiastically repent of our carbon sins. 😐

I agree with James Cameron almost entirely. The only difference is that Mr Cameron believes the canyon is a climate change disaster brought on by the unwitting consequences of humans. I believe the canyon is a socialist dystopian future of great misery and poverty, brought on by the very deliberate machinations of a few.

James is a great story teller, and the story he is most fond of telling is some version of the Frankenstein Myth, or the story of how our creations will turn on us and try to kill us. It makes sense that someone so immersed in this myth might lose sight of the fact that it is NOT REAL! I find that the stories of actual human history are much more informative and frightening than cautionary fictions about make-believe monsters.

The known history of humanity is a story of individuals and small groups manipulating the majority into some form of servitude. That tendency began to diminish slowly with the Renaissance, but lately, there has been a very strong push against the principles that brought us enlightenment and individual freedom. There is a very strong desire for more control over the masses by a few individuals, warning of another version of Frankenstein’s monster; a man-made climate monster that is every bit as fictional as Mary Shelley’s creature.

Captured by the Frankenstein myth that was so deeply ingrained in Western Culture, how many of us will insist on turning the Ford Thunderbird around to avoid the imaginary climate monster, and drive straight into the canyon of socialist misery? I wonder if James Cameron will be surprised when he realizes that he helped dig the huge hell hole that all of us will be plunging into.

When you call out that the sky is falling, you need to be very sure that the sky is actually falling. When more rational people hear the incessant cries of “Wolf” without any wolf being seen and with abundant proof that the wolf is nowhere in sight, they wise up and place the warning down at the bottom of the priority list.

I wonder if he ever read Alan Dean Foster’s “Midworld”? ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midworld )
The idea of a planet that is alive and all life on it linked by plants, like “The One Tree Ring” … er … “Eywa” in “Avatar”, sure sounds like he did.

A documentary about what caused the Titanic to hit an iceberg and sink, would be very interesting and informative. Where the iceberg came from and why it was where it was, might have informed our knowledge. I have read several studies that give the reasons and the context.

But this Hollywood director used his imagination and produced a fictional tale to entertain us, so his professional business is fiction based, and like many in his profession he gets confused between fact and fiction.
