The Prince of Wales has warned global leaders they have 18 critical months to solve climate change and restore the balance of nature, ensuring the survival of the human race.

The Prince, addressing foreign ministers from around the Commonwealth, said they were “uniquely positioned” to lead the world by example, urging them to match ambition with “the practical action that is required”.

Speaking as the future head of the Commonwealth, a position which was confirmed during a convention in London last year, he emphasised that the next 18 months would see “critical meetings that will collectively determine the global agenda for the coming decade”.

The leaders of Commonwealth countries will gather next year in Rwanda for a week-long summit, at which they will discuss the “unparalleled challenges caused by rapid climate change and biodiversity loss”.

In a speech during a reception at Clarence House, the Prince said: “Ladies and gentlemen, I am firmly of the view that the next 18 months will decide our ability to keep climate change to survivable levels and to restore nature to the equilibrium we need for our survival.

“Next year’s Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, therefore, could not be more important and I can only say how much I look forward, I hope, to seeing you and your leaders in Kigali so that we will succeed in raising our level of ambition, while matching it with the practical action that is required.

“I truly believe that the Commonwealth is uniquely positioned to join forces and lead the world by example.

“And your Excellencies, for what it’s worth, I stand ready to support you in these efforts and to seeing the Commonwealth at the forefront of a global solution.”

The Prince has long spoken about his deep concern for the future of the planet, urging leaders to focus on the threat presented by climate change.

Praising the Commonwealth’s shared values, he said: “This unity and strength will be vital in the years ahead for, as you know only too well, we are facing unparalleled challenges caused by rapid climate change and biodiversity loss.

First, the climate “point of no return” was something like 30 years (an IPCC AR, IIRC, but maybe Michael Mann?), then it became 12 years (AOC and other twits), and now it is down to only 18 months (Prince Charles).

I wonder who will be first to claim it’s going to be next week?

“critical meetings that will collectively determine the global agenda for the coming decade”.

Uh… no. As you will recall, wannabe “King George”, we kicked your ass back across the pond. Ain’t nobody on your continent gonna tell me on this continent what the agenda is gonna be.

The more I learn of Charles I and his character the more I think The Prince of Wales is a reincarnation of his Stewart ancestor. That Charles managed to start a civil war which ended with his execution, not least because he didn’t understand people and believed that he had a God gi en right to rule, and therefore everything he did was right.

Let us pray that the Queen continues to be in good health.

Her mother lived to be 101.

Long Live the Queen.

If I extorted money on a claim that not paying it would kill someone I would be in prison in weeks. How come the eco lobby has got away with extortion on this massive scale with no attempt to prove it in court at any time at all? As for Charles with the resources to have information checked before promoting what has to be the most obvious scam in history supporting this I am simply bewildered. Why have all three potential and actual monarchs called Charles been so asinine?

Prince Charles is an extreme but classic example of what generations of inbreeding does to the human brain. As long as HM Queen Elisabeth II reigns Prince Charles is not the Monarch and wields less influence. Long live the Queen!!

Prince Charles is a classic example of what happens when you have unlimited wealth and no worthwhile activity to occupy your time.
He has been drawn into the realm of nonsense he occupies by boredom and lack of intelligence.
Long live the Queen!

Prince Charles is proof that not all alarmists have a covert agenda. Most of them are just dunces.

You cant blame him. He’s living in the rolling green hills of England (not a wind farm in site) and he wants to make sure everyone else knows he cares about the planet? and 18 months to obliterate all progress and crush all emerging countries, reverse the whole human based system is plenty of time…
on the positive side he’s shortened the end for us all. Lately we’ve had 50yrs doom, 20 years doom and recently 12 years and the planet will be a ball of flames and now from what would have been our future king 18 months now ! the once and never king then …
Can somebody tell me why 18 months ? where did that come from ? could he have rounded it off to two years ?. I am now waiting for the next climate derangement syndrome acolyte, to say we must build 360,000 wind farms in the next 18 months or the flames will be licking our legs and scorching the legs Prince Charles £2000 suits. Beyond parody. No offence

Another expensively maintained, bored, royal parasite on the peoples of Britain, trying to make himself news-worthy and relevant, by pretending he knows about the climate.

Actually it’s 18 months before the spending account runs out on the royals.

Why hadn’t someone come up with Prince Charles “Big Idea”? Let’s have another meeting next year (in Kigali) to change the world. Or destroy western civilisation as we know it.

Kigali is in Rwanda, that tiny overcrowded country that decided to have a bash at hand-to-hand genocide to make some space back in 1994 when the world’s journalists were licking their lips in the expectation of a bloodbath in South Africa ( which did not happen).

Having a conference on saving the planet in such a place may see coffee-time talk drifting in the direction of recognizing that too many people on the planet is the real problem. Rather like Banquo’s ghost at Macbeth’s dinner, I imagine Heinrich Himmler’s spectre attending one in Rwanda.

July 13, 2019 7:49 pm

Hahahaha ! He should just stick to pretending to be a tampon because he’s an outright failure at pretending to be intelligent.

well may we say long live the queen for the Commonwealth doesn’t deserve to be inflicted with this bloke and mistaken belief on the climate change fraud. Follow this bloke into poverty and back into the stone age. This bloke owes it to all citizens of the Commonwealth to stand down for William for this bloke will be a total disaster.

18 months?

What the heck?

Prince Chuckie proclaimed in 2009, there were only “96 months left”.

We are already dead, so who cares about another 18 months!? ROTFLMAO.

The fuse is lit. Prince Charles will self-destruct in 10, 9, 8 … (insert unit time-duration here).

Alas for Hanoverian dynasts, this one’s spectacularly inane, chiliastic Doomsday Scenario dates back half-a-century to Paul Ehrlich’s “Population Bomb” (1968). Regular as clockwork, groupthink trogs, coiffed-and-tailored Optimates, trot out status-anxiety antipathy not to “Climate Change” [even they are not that schtoopid] but to autonomous commoners’ competitive, entrepreneurial enrichment via free-market risk/reward.

In brute reality, no-one is “expert on the future”– Nature cares nothing for beansprout poseurs’ Cloud Giant Castle. Though high-falutin’ “post-modern” verbalizers (typically deadhead “identity groups”) relentlessly disparage “facts”, hot air rises, water flows downhill. Get the message, kiddies?

Too bad to see a royal household so hard up that the crown prince must double as court jester.

To date, this is one of my favorite WUWT comment threads! Really should establish a “Climate Alarmist Rogues Gallery” section for this website, sort of a Who’s Who, with relevant bios, pics and certainly highlighting their most laughable dumb-down-the masses propaganda quotes.

Only 18 months. Thank god. I was NOT looking forward to Charles being king for very long.
