Existence of humanity rests on extending Governor Brown’s cap and tax law. Just watch Jerry Brown in his rant over the issue on July 14th:
California Governor Brown presented testimony in hearings where he demanded that the California’s cap and tax law which is the centerpiece of the state’s carbon fighting schemes and which expires in 2020 be extended to year 2030.
Brown proclaimed that:
“America is facing not just a climate crisis with the rest of the world, we are facing a political crisis,” Brown told lawmakers at the first public hearing on his proposal to reduce the state’s carbon emissions. “Can democracy actually work? Is there a sufficient consensus that we can govern ourselves? That, I submit to you, is an open question.”
An L. A. Times article discussing Brown’s testimony indicated that “he warned of mass migration, forest fires, floods, disease and other pestilence should lawmakers not act.”
Brown admonished lawmakers that California’s cap and tax law serves as a model for carbon-reduction efforts across the world, from China to neighboring Oregon.
Brown failed to address the lawmakers regarding how the extension of the California cap and tax law will stop the building by China of more than 700 new coal plants in the next ten years.
An article in The Wall Street Journal regarding the challenges Governor Brown is facing to extend the cap and tax law noted:
“Manufacturers, oil refiners and food processors—major employers in low-income areas—will have to buy permits or expensive new equipment to comply with the state’s emissions cap. Cap and trade has raised the cost of gas by about 12 cents a gallon and this surcharge will increase as emissions controls tighten. Californians already pay about 65 cents more per gallon than the national average.”
Additionally the Wall Street Journal further noted:
“This year the state Senate passed legislation doubling the renewable mandate to 100% by 2045—and, by the way, California is producing so much solar power on some days that it has to pay other states to unload it. Senate Democrats have also proposed jacking up the price of emissions permits and imposing a border carbon fee to tax out-of-state imports.”
It is difficult to comprehend how “the existence of humanity” rests on California extending its cap and tax law to year 2030. But this is California – what else needs to be said.
Running humanity means that Brown thinks he is a God.

A Governor of a state says this! And progressives have a bogus witch hunt against the President over Russian interference in an election. WikiLeaks didn’t fiddle with the vote, they simply revealed that the DNC and Hillary were terminally corrupt political outfits devoid of shame and no one has shown proof that the Russians supplied Wiki.
It revealed that the selection between Bernie and Hillary was pre-orchestrated by Hillary and her agents in the DNC. Who is interfering with whose democracy? Bernie didn’t even raise any hell. His supporters did, showing Bernie was all bark after all.
Jokingly asking the Russians from a campaign mike to find HRC 30k emails is collusion? I thought collusion was a secretive process.! And Donald Jr. getting dirt on Hillary? He never got a thing. I must say we’re I the intelligence guru I would judge the Russians not very adroit at finding stuff on anybody if the world’s sloppiness secretary of state with the nations secrets on a server set up by her husband and shared with Anthony Weiner were too secure for them.
When you mix Ozone, Nitrous Oxide and Mercury vapor… you get Californian politics.
There is no evidence that California’s Cap and Trade law has had any effect on global climate or will ever have any effect on global climate. The reality is that the climate change we are experiencing is caused by the sun and the oceans over which Mankind ti include Gov. Brown, have no control. Despete the hype, there is no evidence that CO2 has any effect on climate and plenty of sceintific rational to support the idea that the climate sensitivity of CO2 is zero. The radiant greenhouse effect upon which the AGW conjecture is based has not been observed anywhere in the universe including the Earth. The radiant greenhouse effect is sceince fiction as is the AGW conjecture. The tax payers can ill afford useless expendatures that are based on science fiction.
CAP AND TRADE by definition does nothing, nothing, to reduce CO2. It’s a wealth redistribution scheme and nothing more. How this scheme continues is beyond belief.
California like Illinois is headed to bankruptcy. California would have got there first but thy have more money to move around. To quote Ron White “You can’y fix Stupid”.
I wonder how much Money Brown has personally invested in renewables. Whatever it is this is all about money. People like him don’t become this unhinged unless they have a lot of skin in the game. so is he stupid like many think? Other than his stupid ideology – I am going to lay money on the thought that he is DESPERATE about something and I will lay more money on the thought that it is all about MONEY – his money. And to others points you are right California is already bankrupt – wasn’t it on the brink or already there when Arnie was running the show. He has been trying to bully Trump with threats and big puffed up statements that California is going on its own with the Paris accord. How I ask? He is penalizing everyone – or threatening to – so all he is doing is hurting the California economy even more. So I will throw in that he is a FOOL. But, OK, I concede – he may also be a Stupid Fool!

The madness comes from improper breathing, that is, not allowing carbon dioxide to regulate the the atmospheric gases in the body the way they are supposed to be, thus resulting in impaired cognitive functioning, embodied in externalized behavioral solidification of the resultant stupidity.
My prescription: Breathe deeply, hold momentarily, tighten lips, and slowly allow the inhaled, now CO2 rich breath to exit slowly. This way, the proper proportion of gases are allowed to diffuse into the blood stream, having the proper chemical balancing effect, blah, blah, blah … you stopped comprehending two sentences ago, anyway.
In short, just breathe right to deter early-onset stupid.

Hell yes, there are better places. Between growing up, being in the navy, and being an engineer at a nuke plant (now closed): I have lots of experience with California.
We have been living in our motor home since retiring in 2014. The only time we have been hassled by cops is at the marina where I used to keep boat near the SF airport. I knew it was a safe place and we would not be bothering anybody.
Washington State does not have income tax. Oregon does not have sales tax. This is where we spend the summer months. If you avoid Seattle and Portland who will have a hard time finding a ‘progressive’.
Nevada also does not have income tax. This is where we spend part of the winter months. Avoid Clark county (Las Vegas) or ignore the politics and it is a great place. I think Clark county is the only place solar panels work at night because the lights from the strip.
We also like Louisianian, Texas, and New Mexico. The welcome mat is out in Texas, and there is a two week open season on ‘progressives’ if you hava gun permit.
Five years ago I fled from San Francisco to the northern Oregon coast. Wish I had done it 20 years earlier. Oh well, I just have to embrace my inner stupid.

Where is the red flag signaling he’s incompetent? His rant and demeanor (in video) suggests he’s crazed. Then, most of the nation follows California’s example.
