UPDATE: 8:30AM PST Sunday 2/12/17 This is some sort of glitch with WordPress.com, and it published last night instead of Eric Worrall’s piece on the French giving asylum to Climate Scientists. Is suspect it had something to do with me approving it on my phone, and having a weak signal.

It did make for an interesting discussion, however. I’ve added a featured image that sort of represents the discussion so far.

It is a secret code to all sceptics to get prepared for the imminent start of a new Ice Ace.
“The Earth’s orbit varies between nearly circular and mildly elliptical (its eccentricity varies). When the orbit is more elongated, there is more variation in the distance between the Earth and the Sun, and in the amount of solar radiation, at different times in the year”
Increasing eccentricity means far less solar radiation in the N. Hemisphere’s summers, the winter ice fails to melt, the Ice age is imminent.

To clarify, I’m not alluding to the mathematical sense of the word, but rather the behavioral sense of the word:
eccentricityan oddity or peculiarity, as of conduct.
Fear of catastrophe from CO2 is an oddity, then, wouldn’t you say?

Hi, Pamela,
I may be mis-reading what you meant, but, in case I understood you:
When this thread was first posted in the middle of the PST night, and for over 7 hours after, the only content in the post (by Anthony) was “… .” So, we all just cracked jokes about it (and were a bit concerned, too, as hour 7 rolled around). That is, it wasn’t really an “open thread,” we just sort of turned it into one. Mr. Kernodle’s comment, if that’s what you are referring to, is just expanding on Anthony’s funny graphic above (for quite awhile, Anthony’s eccentric circle image was not visible, at least to me …. another little glitch, perhaps, lol).
HOPING the above info. is helpful to you. Apologies if I misunderstood your question.
THIS Valentine’s Day should be a very special one for you, I think 🙂 (smiling and smiling and smiling for you).

This mistake (WordPress, Anthony, whatever) has become so humorous because it is not real. A mistake. The mistake of CAGW is not so funny.

That video was fascinating. I have no idea whether or not this is a plausible deductive theory or not, but, the detective story sure is neat. 🙂
I just read the comments on youtube beneath the above video. I wish someone would address infantryhawks’ question directly (it had yet to be, as of a few minutes ago) about why the runic syntax so closely resembled late 1800’s Swedish (as opposed to c. 1390’s Swedish). The carbon dating response by Elroy there did not address infantry’s question completely.

I answer that question later in the comments, I think Scott Wolter does a good job answering this question by traveling to the island of Gotland and found those Runes on grave slabs carved in the 14th Century. He made another documentary and wrote a book about it called the Hooked X.

Dear Mr. Hansen,
With the “en,” it’s Norwegian or Danish, I think? I’m really sorry to hear that. I hope, somehow, you can spend as little time with the two to your left as possible. We all have “poison people” enter our lives from time to time. They can only hurt you (and you cannot do any good to them — that takes a miracle). If they are living in your home, that is so sad. You have, thus, no loving “home” — it has been invaded. Stay away — MOVE if you can!
It is far better to be lonely and peaceful than with others and miserable. If they need assistance — hire someone!
And, I have a sinking feeling that you really have very little choice in the matter.
I take back every hard thing I have said of you, Mr. Hansen. I know, believe me, what it is to live with such people. You have my heartfelt sympathy — and prayers from now on.
You may not crave affection as I do (being a stoic Scandihoovian, 🙂 ), but, you DO deserve to be respected and valued. GO WHERE YOU ARE LOVED (or, at least, treated with kindness and common courtesy — or, at the VERY least, where you have peace).

Hansen in my case is Danish — but many generations ago when my soldier-of-fortune great-great-grandfather came to settle in America, after fighting for the Prussians and then for the British in India.
In reality, I only meant the caption of the image, “Increasing Eccentricity” — a joke my wife and I share. My wife and I live on our sailboat — a 42 foot catamaran — and have spent 10 of the last 13 years doing humanitarian work in the Northern Caribbean (DR, PR, USVI, BVI). As you know, for the last couple of years, I have been occasionally writing here at WUWT and over at Judith Curry’s.
Your concern and advice sound professional. Are you a counselor? I was once, myself, in a place far away and a time long ago — and your advice is good and sound — those who listen to you will benefit.
Thank you for your caring and desire to help others, an attribute to be valued above all others.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply. You are welcome (even though you did not need it — smile). I appreciate your generous assessment of my counseling ability. No, I’m not even a semi-professional/volunteer counselor. I’ve just encountered much helpful advice via some very difficult people (and the counseling I experienced with them) or via troubled friends and their counselors and read a LOT and did a little research and attended some NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) classes (to try to help and to cope with some difficult people). And, you are right: caring goes a long way.
What a WONDERFUL life you and your wife have created! Here’s to the next 10 years! 🙂
