Merry Christmas to all!

I think I’ll take the day off. To fill in for me, here is an 8 hour Christmas music mix that you can turn on and listen to. I have two choices for you:

A wintry Christmas scene:

or…

A fireplace:

Click either one on the paly button to hear it, click on the icon lower right to make it full screen.

Merry Christmas to you and yours, wherever you are. I’m thankful for you, the readers, and to all the contributors and volunteers that make WUWT special.

Once upon a time David Gerrold had an essay on his forum. Here it is:
Sb: Bullwinkle is dead!!
Fm: David Gerrold
You may have heard that Bullwinkle the Moose was found dead. And a
special prosecutor was appointed to investigate the mysterious
circumstances of the moose’s death.
Most people are aware of the fact that the moose was found crushed to
death by a 16-ton anvil dropped from a great height. And of course,
everybody was certain that the moose’s live-in companion (and isn’t that
an interesting euphemism?) a certain hyperactive flying squirrel, was
the most likely suspect. But further investigation revealed a number of
things. First, JPL did a computer simulation and determined that a
flying squirrel could not achieve airspeed while carrying a 16-ton
anvil, so that cleared Rocket J. Squirrel.
But the coroner reported that the expression on the moose’s face showed
absolutely no fear, so obviously the anvil hit him unexpectedly, or he
was completely trusting of the circumstances — which could implicate
Rocky after all. The expression on the moose’s face was the biggest
smile ever seen on a Toon.
Clutched in the moose’s baseball mitt — which he always wore when he
caught Rocky — was a tiny statue of the Buddha. The religious
significance of this is not immediately clear; neither is the eyewitness
report of a rabbi on a pogo stick rapidly leaving the scene.
So…if we summarize the clues in Bullwinkle’s death, what we have is:
wee Vishnu, a merry crushed moose, and a hoppy Jew near.

The snowy scene is obviously extreme cold due to climate change, and the yule log is emitting carbon into the atmosphere and should be banned.

Merry Christmas to Anthony and the whole crew here!
Thanks millions for your dedication to exposing the real issues and agenda behind Climate Change Inc., the lucrative government contractor helping the progressives maintain ideological control of a segment of the world’s populus. Future generations will honor your perseverance.

Dear Mr. Ashfield,
I have had such things happen to me, too. Some people who post on youtube are a bit, to be charitable (after all, it is Christmas Day), careless about how they describe their videos.
I’m glad the formal concert video attempt failed, however, for it created the opportunity which resulted in to finding something even better. Here, is such a lovely, very real, version of Ms. Willihagen, giving a concert in her hometown of Nijmegen, The Netherlands. It’s just like watching your own grandaughter or daughter….. or yourself, many years ago (being filmed by a very proud Dad or Mom). Her voice is exceptionally sweet, but, it is her good heart that makes it a sound which brings a smile to the faces of her audience, instead of just an admiring nod of approval and polite applause.
“O Holy Night” — sung by Amira Willihagen, age 11, 2015

Thank you for sharing and blessing our day with song!
Merry Christmas,
Janice

Hello again Janice. That was a great find. What a lovely voice that young girl has. “O Holy Night” has been one of my favourite pieces of music since I first heard it in the 1940s. My most cherished version of it is by one your great sopranos (by ‘your’ I mean American), Leontyne Price, recorded in the early 1960s and which I play on my turntable every Christmas Day without fail. Music is my life blood! I have a very catholic taste though – too broad for some 😉
Hope you’re having a terrific Christmas… which I extend to Anthony, all his helpers and everyone commenting on and reading this wonderful blog.

Merry Christmas to you, too, Luc. I’m so glad you enjoyed that. “O Holy Night” (Cantique de Noel) is my favorite Christmas song. I like many versions, but especially Placido Domingo (even though he strangely mispronounces the French). Ah, yes, musica! Life would be a much heavier slog without it.
With friendship (and prayers, too 🙂 ),
Janice

Merry Christmas and compliments of the season to all I’ve met in the wonderful world of WUWT. Yes, you too (Hey, I have family that grills me on CAGW and other spirited issues). The math formula is brilliant! Who should I attribute it to in using it?
