At first, I thought this had to be a joke in the style of “The Onion”. Sadly, no. I have video of this dolt saying this on C-Span. I don’t know who’s more dangerous to humanity, Kerry or ISIS.
Here is some history leading up to this epic inanity. In February, Kerry said climate change is as ‘big a threat to the world as terrorism, poverty, and weapons of mass destruction’. Last month Kerry said climate change is the “biggest challenge of all we face right now.” And on Tuesday September 3rd, at a ceremony to appoint Texas lawyer Shaarik Zafar as special representative to Muslim communities, Kerry told the crowd that it is America’s Biblical “responsibility” to “confront climate change.”
“Our faiths are inextricably linked on any number of things that we must confront and deal with in policy concepts today. Our faiths are inextricably linked on the environment. For many of us, respect for God’s creation also translates into a duty to protect and sustain his first creation, Earth, the planet,”
“Confronting climate change is, in the long run, one of the greatest challenges that we face, and you can see this duty or responsibility laid out in Scriptures clearly, beginning in Genesis. And Muslim-majority countries are among the most vulnerable. Our response to this challenge ought to be rooted in a sense of stewardship of Earth, and for me and for many of us here today, that responsibility comes from God.”
I do hope Mr. Kerry travels to the heart of an ISIS stronghold to deliver this message personally. Maybe then he’ll gain a sense of priority and perhaps, some sanity when he realizes his epic mistake.

It is not so much the wall of separation of church and state, it is that the state pushed the wall so things like education, health care, welfare, marriage, were rendered (think tallow) unto Caesar.
That said…
My only thought of Kerry going to ISIS to talk is that he would win an “Darwin Award”.
So agw is a religion after all.
Only for the serfs.
It’s We The People who are the mentally ill to allow these people to power.

What scares me is the Russians made Kerry look like a complete idiot over bombing Syria and he is now, because of a personal grudge, in the forefront of trying to create a new Cold War.
Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries on the planet and nothing is ever going to change that. Not long ago, the ineptocrats in the EU decided it was time they controlled it and not the Russians.
So now you have a mess in which it is not possible for anyone to win and the EU has just committed itself to tens of billions of dollars to stave off the economic collapse of a country, which is little more an enormous economic black hole.
Peter, bringing in your Russian sock puppet spew regarding Ukraine is not welcome. Someone backing Russia calling *anyone* corrupt is a sour tragic joke.
But the bottom line is you are incredibly off topic dragging Ukraine into this.
Perhaps not 100% off topic – when seeing video of Kerry one immediately thinks “corrupt”. And other words that I can’t post here.
How can you possibly say that I am backing the Russians? What I said was the Russians made Kerry look like a complete idiot over Syria – I still remember the moment in a TV interview.
What concerns me is that Ukraine is a problem precipitated by the EU ineptocrats, exploited by the Russians in which an utterly scary situation has been precipitated in which no one will end up the winner.
My opinion is simply that Kerry is not fit for purpose.
Could this explain his global warming insanity?
John Kerry has been married to Teresa Heinz since 1995. Her former husband of the Heinz ketchup / condiment family is Henry John Heinz III who died in a plane crash in 1991. Teresa Heinz has since overseen the Heinz family’s charitable work. She is particularly keen on supporting environmental causes. In 1992 she was a delegate to the Earth Summit, representing NGOs.

The BBC of all places doesn’t even list Global Warming. Here is the BBC’s list:

Ukraine

Four and a half of those are the same thing.
Anyone who wears a wig as ludicrous as Kerry’s is wrong in the head one way or another. Eyes roll around him before he even opens his mouth, not to mention after.
It’s all part of a plan…….to make Biden look good.
Who would have predicted that Heinz ketchup consumption would lead to this? Thanks Teresa, for nothing.
CIA hat.
Does anyone know of suras in the Qur’an which promote environmentalism? I have a suspicion Kerry is making this stuff up.
Jimbo,
I don’t suppose by any chance your sublime listings include dates of failed “rapture” dates do they?
Those dates seem to be specific to the day if memory serves.
Cheers
A
Kerry secret weapon he consults it for his climate information.
He keeps it in his brief case, he always has it with him.
He got it on his Christmas trip to Cambodia.
Or he dreamed up it all during one of his sleep walking times when he was on radar duty on the Swift Boat.
Or he knows less now that a gooney bird on meth.
In politics, being dim is not a great handicap, except you may find it irritating to think that you are ruled by someone inferior to yourself.
someone inferior to all life on earth
Take the people (EE’s with cert. of a PE) who run the national power grid.
They know 100% that wind and solar do not work now and most likely ever to carry heavy loads needed and they know it all gets used up by resistance in the power line grid and transformers before it heats one coffee pot.
Works fine for a family of two on vacation in their hut off the grid in the waste lands of Utah etal.
Not so much to charge up a battery for a Tesla car.
It’s a good thing Kerry was defeated by Bush or we would have had an idiot in the WH – oh wait….
The John Kerry and Joe Biden story. Before they became politicians, they were:
Totally ignoring (because that is the only response you can give them) the ill-informed and prejudicial comments about religion which are the hallmark of some commenters to WUWT, I submit two statements made by Kerry during the Presidential debates of 2004. They can be found on http://www.ontheissues.org/2004/John_Kerry_Abortion.htm
There is a clear contradiction between these statements and his latest statement on the Scriptures.
Q: Some Catholic archbishops said that it would be a sin to vote for a candidate like you because you support a woman’s right to choose an abortion and unlimited stem-cell research. What is your reaction to that?
A: I completely respect their views. I am a Catholic. And I grew up learning how to respect those views. But I disagree with them, as do many. I can’t legislate or transfer to another American citizen my article of faith. What is an article of faith for me is not something that I can legislate on somebody who doesn’t share that article of faith.

Q: If the voter asked for reassurance that his or her tax dollars would not go to support abortion, what would you say to that person?
A: I cannot tell you how deeply I respect the belief about life and when it begins. I’m a Catholic. Raised a Catholic I was an altar boy. Religion has been a huge part of my life. Helped lead me through a war. Leads me today. I can’t take what is an article of faith for me and legislate it for someone who doesn’t share that article of faith.

Kerry’s comments were made in the context of a “religious leader and faith community engagement” appointment. Kerry clearly has absolutely no idea what religion is, and why its followers do what they do. The giant lout seems to be attempting to be a good guy and engage religious people, but instead has highly insulted the majority. Which is typical of any time that people who don’t understand religion try to engage people about religion.
I see the same happening in every online forum where religious matters are addressed, including here. Many comments on this topic would be perceived as hurtful and petty to a Christian, and yet the anti-religious types don’t even understand why. As a tip for future comments: if you’re not religious there is no need to discuss religion with someone who is. If you care about not sounding like an insensitive jerk, anyway.
No more than anyone who has “faith” in any religion.
They could use a little global cooling in the new Islamic State. My last trip to Iraq was 13 months in Irbil in 2011-2012 and I was two months into my rotation when US forces withdrew. We watched as then AQI contested Iraqi government control in Mosul through targeted assassinations, attacks on security forces, and car bombings in innocent neighborhoods simply because of differing beliefs…Shia, Shabaks, Yazididis, Christians, it didn’t matter. Then the violence spread out of Mosul and there was a direct correlation between the growth of Mosul AQI and violence in Kirkuk, Tikrit, and elsewhere. They financed their operations through kidnappings, theft, and shakedown operations against transnational businesses in Iraq. Now, they have some of the trappings of a nation state including territorial control, oil and gas revenues and modern weaponry. Don’t think that there isn’t a darker, more malignant, interaction with ISIS coming in the future.
They are the worse of humanity and dealing with them has to be our top priority. Secretary Kerry needs to remain focused on that point. For that matter, maybe NASA also needs to refocus from Muslim outreach to developing a heavy lift capability.
Kerry is nothing but a buffoon and perpetual panderer. Recall how in 2004 he became a caricature of his own imagination that people who live in Ohio are too stupid to know proper grammar with, “Can I get me a hunting license here?” Now he’s just pandering to the religious side of us bitter clingers.
Never forget that, as Lt. governor, he was the one who wrote EO 242 for Dukakis prohibiting Mass civil defense funds from being used for preparation/planning in case of a nuclear strike. http://www.lawlib.state.ma.us/source/mass/eo/eotext/EO242.txt
…..
“WHEREAS, the existing and potential strength of nuclear weapons is such that nuclear war can neither be won nor survived, it can only be prevented; and
WHEREAS, the only effective defense against the horrors of nuclear weapons lies in their elimination and in the prevention of nuclear war or attacks; and”…..
5. No funds shall be expended by the Commonwealth for crisis relocation planning for nuclear war.
….
That automatically made Massachusetts one of the USSR’s first strike targets – an automatic higher “yield”!
How caring and sharing of Kerry. ISIS would care to share his head with their sand.
