I think the light bulb may have gone on with this guy. From TalkingPointsMemo:
In addition to being mocked for its breathless coverage of Flight 370, CNN has also been under fire for the way it has covered climate change. Zucker on Monday defended the network’s approach to the issue.
“Climate change is one of those stories that deserves more attention, that we all talk about,” he said, “but we haven’t figured out how to engage the audience in that story in a meaningful way. When we do do those stories, there does tend to be a tremendous amount of lack of interest on the audience’s part.”
Translation: Nobody cares. ZZZZzzzz.
In other news…
Game show host Pat Sajak caused a major uproar in social media circles on Tuesday, writing on Twitter Monday night that “global warming alarmists are unpatriotic racists knowingly misleading for their own ends.”

That’s unfortunate. A number of global warming alarmists I know are in fact patriotic and not racists, but they are severely misguided in their belief system.
But, I laughed at this one from Sajak:

I believe the point Pat made could had been better served without the racist tag. If he was, as I suspect referring to the leading nations refusal to power the third world with fossils fuel, leading to a lot of misery and death. A better word may have been genocide . Hopefully unintentional.
I have read , here and elsewhere the extent of the damage of the world banks refusal to lend money for fossil fuel power plants, but have no numbers at hand. Does anyone have that handy?

I love the [way] those who love govt actually seem to believe that if you oppose any environmental regulation, it means that you want there to be no environmental regulations. If you oppose any program that allegedly is going to help the poor, it means you want there to be no welfare, public or private.”
Yeah, they’re making the fallacious argument, “If some’s good, more’s better” .
I think Sajak has a point. I’ve immersed myself (but I don’t think I’ve drowned yet) in the AGW thingy for going on 30 years. And, for the life of me, I can’t think of one single Black climatologist.
Think about it: Overpeck, Wigley, Jones, Mann, Trenberth, Thompson, Hansen, Schneider, Schmitt, Bradley, Hughes, Turney, Santer, Holdren, Ehrlich, et al, et al, et al – all privileged white males (unless you include, in a couple cases, their shrinking violet wives).
(P.S. I’m aware quite a few of those un affirmative, gender biased folks are climatologists in name only.)
And their financial overlords: Gore, Redford, Maurice Strong, Steyer – all privileged white males in the upper, upper 0.1%.
Just how many Black climatologists does anybody out there know? And, who’s going to get hurt by carbon policies? And, who’s going to profit?
Sajak’s a genius! I salute him!
If I was a Mann or similar I’d be thinking about changing careers. There will be no future whatsoever for “climate science”. It will be taken off curriculums worldwide, it will no longer be a viable career. They are been hounded out of Australia at this time and and no one gives a damm. Same thing will happen here in US when Rubio gets elected in 2016. LOL
Wheel of fortune is my wife’s favorite show. Couldn’t have a better guy “at the wheel”.
After just now reading a bunch of his other tweets, I’ve come to better appreciate how hilarious and witty he really is.
“Pat Sajak @patsajak May 19
Even though I told him it was settled folklore, my young nephew remains a Tooth Fairy denier. (Those kids today!)”
What Michael Mann calls behaving like an 8 year old(because his humor is slanted obviously) to me, is incredible genius.
Obviously parody of warmist attacks on skeptics. Sajak is too smart to have said such a ridiculous thing seriously. I am surprised so many WUWT fans seem to have missed that.
God Bless Pat S. ! He’s got the $$$, he’s got the stature…and he’s not afraid of losing his job.
AMERICA’S GAME – IS THE BUSINESS!
Many (most ?) alarmists do not mean to be racists. But the implimentation of their desired objectives certainly WOULD be racist in effect and results.
That they refuse to consider this is DOUBLY racist.
The only way out of this dilema that I see is for alarmists to propose adaptation as the ONLY viable option to support.
In the 1960’s many people thought the military-industrial complex could not be defeated. They were wrong. Can the climate-industrial complex be defeated? We’ll see.
The handful of commenters who posit that Sajak’s word choice was tongue-in-cheek — a jab back at the current trend of calling everyone who disagrees with you ‘racist, sexist, homophobe, unpatriotic, etc.,’ — have got it right, almost certainly. He could just as well have said the alarmists were waging a war on women…
I’ll bet Sajak would be surprised that what he thought was transparent, purposeful irony went straight over people’s heads. Maybe some people need to remember that most human beings don’t actually use the /sarc tag when being sarcastic.
You can play an internet version of Wheel of Fortune with Pat Sajak for free at American Mensa games site. You do not have to be a Mensa member, nor register or join anything.
I disagree with Anthony. Give the alarmists no quarter. Never cease to call them what they are – racist bigots. Always and without exception. Make them suffer for their crimes against humanity, where their alarmist ideology damns the poor of the world to continued energy poverty and an early painful suffering death.

Sajak is going to influence a huge section of the public. if he makes these comments during The Price is Right.

If he did that, who would notice?

Ask a Leftie to share his/her wealth – won’t happen.
____
That’s true. I spent four years raising money for a famous non-profit. Left-leaning contacts were predictably parsimonious. Right-leaning contacts almost always donated, and often did so generously. I often heard from those on the left that “something ought to be done.” When asked to do something themselves — like donate — they usually started talking about how to get others to do something.
Ummmm, guyz? Pat was obviously mimicking – and mocking – the “you’re a racist if you disagree with me about anything” leftist clowns with the “unpatriotic racists” crack (though he’s right about the “knowingly misleading for their own ends” part). Guess y’all haven’t seen many of his tweets. He’s a riot – and not lefty or Hollyweird at all.
I’d love to buy him a beer.
“Sajak is going to influence a huge section of the public. if he makes these comments during The Price is Right.”
Then I guess he won’t influence them at all, policycritic. He’s host of “Wheel of Fortune.”

Some kinda slow on the uptake commenters in this thread. Pat Sajak was obviously being sarcastic in “accusing” warmists of the very things that they accuse skeptics of, no doubt in response to something particularly iduiotic aimed at him. Guess he ran out of characters and didn’t have room for a /sarc tag. Or maybe he thought people would be a little sharper.
Anyway, Sajak is a smart guy and a bright spot for conservatives in the fever swamp that is television. I imagine he has plenty stashed away and really doesn’t care what the lefties say. I know I don’t.
If Pat Sajak really is a former weatherman that would be important to point out to AGWers to show that he’s not another Hollywood goofball spouting off. Of course the AGW left will just point out that Obama’s close friend and adviser, William Ayers was also a Weatherman.
In a specific sense he is mocking Harry Reid the Majority leader in the Senate who has taken to calling people “unpatriotic” and “unAmerican” from the “well” of the Sentate Floor. Any statement that is made from there is immune from libel, slander and defamation laws. More generally he is mocking the left who call any criticism of President Obama “racist”.
Chill people.
“Racist”, because extreme weather that only happens where brown people live is just weather. When it hits New York or New Orleans, it’s climate change…
To understand why all the media hype is being generated by the Liberals to increase public support for CAGM, aka now Climate Change, and the wealth redistribution schemes they salivate for, one only needs to understand the basic human psychology as explained by Nobel-winning economist Daniel Kahneman in his best seller book, “Thinking, Fast and Slow.”
On page 8 (of 499 in the Amazon Kindle version) of his book, he writes, “People tend to assess the relative importance of issues by the ease with which they are retrieved from memory – and this is largely determined by the extent of coverage in the media.”
Kahneman goes on to explain how authoritative regimes using control of the media to keep public interest focused on some areas and not others to the benefit of further control of the politcal institutions.
That quote explains why the Democrats and Liberals need to keep Climate Change as an on-going media topic to raise its importance to gain support for their wealth re-distribution efforts (ie. more taxes).
He means HE talks about. After almost 2 decades of “blitzkrieg” bombardment they wonder why they are failing. HELLO! It’s BECAUSE of the nearly 2 decades of “blitzkrieg” bombardment. When will these people understand this very simple fact?
There was a bit of research a few years back which showed how people switched TV channels in droves the moment global warming was mentioned on the news. I can’t find it now (lacking keywords).
I am sure this is NOT Pat Sajak of Wheel of Fortune…
