Congratulations to all. I really had hoped Donna Laframboise would have placed first in that last category, but my sincere thanks to all who voted, just the same.
The poll for “Climate Duplicitist of the Year”, now closed, revealed a clear winner
Congratulations to Dr. Michael Mann. The award to Dr. Mann will be sent next week.

The best thing about the Bloggies is that the sneaky way in which they tried to block sceptic websites by shutting down the Science category has rebounded on them. How many categories will they have to close next year?
congratulations to all the worthy winners. hope the july conference is a great success:
MEDIA ADVISORY: International Gathering of Scientists Skeptical of Man-Caused Global Warming to Take Place in Las Vegas from July 7 to July 9
Ninth International Conference on Climate Change (ICCC-9) will feature world-famous scientists and writers, precede FreedomFest 2014.
Is the theory of man-made global warming still credible? Why do surveys show a majority of Americans and scientists do not believe global warming is man-made and a major problem?
Hundreds of the world’s most prominent “skeptics” of the claim that human activity is causing a climate crisis will converge in Las Vegas on July 7–9 to review the latest research and celebrate what they see as recent events that vindicate their opposition to what some claim is a “scientific consensus.”
The Heartland Institute – which The Economist magazine in 2012 called “the world’s most prominent think tank promoting skepticism about man-made climate change” – is joining scores of other think tanks and advocacy groups to host the 9th International Conference on Climate Change at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas…
“The scientists Heartland works with demanded we host a ninth conference this year to foster a much-needed frank, honest, and open discussion of the current state of climate science,” said Heartland Institute President Joseph Bast, “and we just couldn’t refuse. The public, the press, and the scientific community will all benefit from learning about the latest research and observational data that indicate climate science is anything but ‘settled.’”…

Yes, give Robert the plus-one. Well done! I enjoy your wit. 😉
Of course, the biggest kudos go to our most gracious host and his tireless crew. I am not joking or embellishing the fact that you have saved my sanity, especially having returned to the west side of the Cascades. I would truly be lost without you fine folks.
*raises a glass* To the truth and victory over tyranny and (Earth Hour) darkness!
Forget the bloggies (congrats to all, of course) but Donna Laframboise deserves an Order of Canada award for her courageous, dogged pursuit of the IPCC and its chair. If ever life imitated art, the IPCC would be the laughable little wizard behind the curtain, as ‘Dorothy’ Donna proves near daily.
Congratulations, Anthony upon your Bloggie double. No more than you deserve.
My vote for award to Mann: a broken hockey stick.
Congratulations Anthony. Well deserved awards.
Now Mann can honestly say that he has a well-deserved (and actual) award.
Suggest a case of Mann’s Brown Ale for the worthy duplicitist winner. Originally brewed across the Whitechapel Road from the (Royal) London Hospital home of the Elephant Man. The Liberty Bell and Big Ben were cast a few yards up the road. It may help him to see that CO2 is not pollution.

Well done, and congratulations all round!
Even the CDOTY awardee, Dr Mann! A sublime performance on several fronts.

I like that.
The CDOTY Award (pronounced cee-dotty)

I thought that this might be of interest to people here. It is part of a piece about the reaction of America’s religious types to the new version of Carl Sagan’s science show, Cosmos.
“We can see this most clearly with one of the most urgent issues confronting the human species, the danger of global climate change. While it’s a matter of uncontroversial fact among scientists that the burning of fossil fuels is changing the Earth’s climate in perilous ways, climate science is far less accepted among the public, driven by fierce resistance from those who have an ideological reason for disbelieving it.
The renowned climate scientist Michael Mann, whose work forms the basis for United Nations climate reports and the famous “hockey stick” graph that illustrates global temperature rises, has been the subject of continual harassment by conservative legislators, including frivolous subpoenas by Ken Cuccinelli, the former right-wing attorney general of Virginia, accusing him of scientific fraud. In other localities, the right-wing response to climate change has reached epic levels of head-in-the-sand denial, such as when the North Carolina legislature passed a lawforbidding science to be used in forecasting future sea-level rise.”
In this guy’s world, Micheal Mann is a renowned scientist, the Hockey Stick graph hasn’t been thouroughly discredited and the only reason that people disbelieve that the climate is changing in perilous ways is purely ideological.
The alarmists should be thankful to you. You’ve ensured that they received an award this year. Otherwise it would have been a clean sweep for sceptics.
Congrats & thanks to Anthony & mods. You’re a true & valuable resource for this planet & its sane people.
I learn mucho on this site, & mucho enjoy doing so.
Live long & prosper.
Congratulations all round – well deserved.
An appropriate moment to bury the hatchet. Well done Anthony and team, and all category winners, sceptical bloggers and their readers. Here’s to putting good science and good scientific debate on a stronger footing in the coming years.
So the attempt by the co2 faithful to ‘fix’ the results and prevent sceptics from walking away with the science blog award by removing the category has only resulted in the sceptics winng even more awards than before.
Congratulations Anthony. From Brisbane, Australia.
Michael Mann is a perennial in the Climate Duplicitist category.
However, I genuinely believe Stephen Lewinsky can feel genuinely aggrieved at having been pipped for this award. His efforts over the course of 2013 were some of the finest expositions of duplicity I have been honoured to witness.
I do hope Dr Mann recognises the amazing achievements of Dr Lewinsky in his acceptance speech.
Congratulations on taking two categories at the bloggies, Anthony!!!
Congratulations to all the 2014 Bloggies winners.
Especially to WUWT.
Regarding the climate duplicitist of the year award, congratulations to PSU’s Michael Mann for his win.
My suggestion for a duplicity award prize for Mann is to give him a mirror.
John
Congratulations Anthony. Well done. Keep going.
And what a great disappointment it must have been for UWA in that Lewandowsky was not even up to the mark on the Duplicitist Award. There’s just no excellence to be found at UWA it would seem.
this hilarious piece in australia’s trendy leftist pro-CAGW website, Crikey, has been up for 6 hours, but not a comment as yet. desperate attempt to get some social media action going, yet it is the CAGW sceptic websites that take out the Bloggies!
31 March: Crikey: Melissa Sweet: Health sector urged to engage with social media advocacy around climate change
The previous Croakey post contained some advice, from the BMJ and elsewhere, for how health professionals might respond to the climate emergency.
In the article below, Fiona Armstrong, convenor of the Climate and Health Alliance, suggests the health sector should be engaging with social media, and invites you to join a social media Thunderclap on climate and health…

31 March: Australian: Staff Reporter: EU carbon plunges ahead of emissions data
Speculation EU emissions fell further than expected last year has seen the continent’s carbon price experience its biggest one day drop in a year, with the price falling more than 20 per cent to below €4, Bloomberg reports.
According to the news service, carbon futures for December fell as much as 29 per cent after Britain posted a bigger-than-expected emissions drop last week, analysts are expecting the same when EU data is released this week.
EU carbon futures had reached a 15-month high earlier in the week, Bloomberg reports, as backloading took effect.
Data from more than 12,000 installations covered by the EU’s emissions-trading system will be made public on April 1, according to a statement on the commission’s website.

There should be a consolation prize for runners up in the Duplicity Awards…. maybe they should receive a “withheld data set”?
There should be a consolation prize for runners up in the Duplicity Awards…. maybe they should receive a “withheld data set”?
Yes, congratulations to Dr Mann, or as Mark Steyn would call him, Mannhammed.
To top a hall of infamy is a notable achievement. Could you say it’s all his own work? No doubt he’d want to thank his parents, too.
This award will nicely complement his self-anointed Nobel Prize. And what company; little Napoleon crowning himself emperor and now Mann, but likely confused with which crown to wear. Perhaps that photocopy of the Nobel laurel tonight, Mikey. Go on, slip it on, Waterloo can’t be far away.
WUWT – a real triumph, and well deserved.
