Wackadoodle 350.org protesters disappear their KKK moment

Last weekend I pointed out that 350.org leader Bill McKibben had endorsed the antics of some 350.org members in Texas that adopted tactics of the Klu Klux Klan – showing up at somebody’s house with mask covered faces, torches, and a threat:

micats-vigil-web

It seems the well deserved ridicule of these cowards has had an effect, they have disappeared that photo from their website. See here: http://www.tarsandsblockade.org/enbridge-home-demo/

Fortunately, I have a copy of the entire web page before that disappearing act took place.

See the PDF: Tar Sands Blockade – Enbridge

No apology, just down the memory hole. What a bunch of cowardly and pathetic people they are. That goes for Bill McKibben too who thought this was a good enough idea to promote with a tweet rather than condemn it.

Kerosene torches, what hypocrites.

I’m sure they are hydrogen torches, so they don’t give off deadly CO2, just water which isn’t a GHG, um, oh well, never mind.

@JessicaJ –
McKibben and his friends should be looking at a good many years in prison for domestic terrorism.

Sustainability -Environmentalism- Green- Gaia whatever you call it… is being developed as the religion for the Revolution. It is the long planned marriage of Science and Religion with sustainability as the vehicle for Total Control
Here is a well researched read…

As reported at Yahoo and elsewhere, three days ago, “The White House will turn a heated tent on its frigid South Lawn into a Monet-inspired gala fit for a French president on Tuesday….” I’m sure that the Obama’s and their guests held those protesters close in their hearts as they munched on desserts of Hawaiian chocolate-malted ganache, fudge made from Vermont maple syrup, and puffs of cotton candy dusted with orange zest. Of course, the Obamas could have used a few torch bearers to heat up their gala! Oh, just kidding. Don’t worry. The president and his distinquished guests were so cozy that I suspect they forgot it was even winter outside!

And it gets uglier as the desperation sets in.

I am afraid you are correct. One only has to look at Earth First and the Earth Liberation Front and the damage they have cause. So far without ki!!ing anyone.

According to the FBI The most destructive practice is ar$on. “… members consistently use improvised !ncend!ary devices equipped with crude but effective timing mechanisms… cr!minal incidents often involve pre-activity surve!llance and well-planned operations. Members are believed to engage in significant intelligence gathering against potential targets, including the review of industry/trade publications, photographic/video surveillance of potential targets, and posting details about potential targets on the internet….attacks have totaled close to $40 million in damages.”
In other words the cops and/or FBI should have been called while someone else kept them talking.
The FBI DOES NOT ignore these threats.

This is how extremism grows. The more someone gets into the movement, the more they’ll be sent to read the extremist books at the back of the library. Meanwhile the mainstream movement keeps a respectable image, whilst subtly condoning extremism with abstract talk about urgency and direct action….

Yes the FBI report I linked to above says exactly that.

…There’s no point with these people – they are fanatics and they will continue down this path until one of them does something stupid. This will be the point that the public finally says enough, but I fear a tragedy will occur first.

You are a wee bit late:

The ALF and the ELF have jointly claimed credit for several raids including a November 1997 attack of the Bureau of Land Management wild horse corrals near Burns, Oregon, where arson destroyed the entire complex resulting in damages in excess of four hundred and fifty thousand dollars and the June 1998 arson attack of a U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal Damage Control Building near Olympia, Washington, in which damages exceeded two million dollars. The ELF claimed sole credit for the October 1998, arson of a Vail, Colorado, ski facility in which four ski lifts, a restaurant, a picnic facility and a utility building were destroyed. Damage exceeded $12 million. On 12/27/1998, the ELF claimed responsibility for the arson at the U.S. Forest Industries Office in Medford, Oregon, where damages exceeded five hundred thousand dollars. Other arsons in Oregon, New York, Washington, Michigan, and Indiana have been claimed by the ELF. Recently, the ELF has also claimed attacks on genetically engineered crops and trees. The ELF claims these attacks have totaled close to $40 million in damages.

Gail Combs,
You can just create a new folder, maybe in one of the many word processing apps. Put the folder on your desktop, or wherever. Then save the URL of the photo to the folder. You will have your pics available when you want them.
Of course, there are better and more permanent ways. That’s just a quick ‘n’ dirty way to save images until you find a better way to save them.

Desperation.
The need for martyrs.
Agitate, encourage foolish children, to engage in behaviour so odious that sane people might shoot them.
With the aid of the MSM presstitutes, these “innocent lambs, senselessly slaughtered”, would be world wide messaging.
The “adult’ voices from amongst the “protesters” must be investigated for conspiracy to commit terrorism.
Never mind that the current federal administration, openly lauds the Weather Underground Killers.

This is the reason why the second amendment allowed civilians to have military firearms.
This is also the reason why the definition of ‘military firearm’ includes fully automatic ones.

I checked that page and the offending image is in place at the end of the story, with this new(?) explanation:
“After the home demo, a “candlelight” vigil was held for the MI-CATS 3 at an entirely different location. There were never any torches at Mark Maki’s house; this photo was part of Monday’s nationwide candlelight vigil marking the release of an inadequate FEIS for KXL North – with a twist, to emphasize the struggles of communities already facing tar sands.”
So, it was all okay, really, we didn’t scare the man, honest…
Interesting that they seem to have noticed that this was an issue both for the actual content and then that they had been pinged for silently removing it.

The Wikipedia entry on the Kalamazoo oil spill gives some of the background to the poor performance of Enbridge. From here in the UK, it seems that the US government really goes for non US companies which cause environmental problems ( BP) but doesn’t appear to do much when the company is US owned.

I now see that Enbridge is Canadian.

The problem here is other monkeys will see and do. Even if this was staged elsewhere. Sadly, there will be escalation. These self-righteous do gooders are unable to think things through.

This was a dumb and desperate move.
They are trying to get out three people locked up under federal laws.

This should make it very clear to anyone who supported McKibben and the 350.org bunch, that they are on the wrong side of the debate. Resorting to illegal tactics shows they have already lost the argument. I know Uncle Sam tends not to tolerate terrorists, so I’m sure they will be pursued and dealt with accordingly.
I said ‘supported’ past tense deliberately, for any right thinking person would want to put a lot of distance between themselves and this lot of crazies.
Now it seems they are trying to play it down by saying it was a ”candlelight vigil.” I’ve seen such vigils. Usually there’s plenty of prayers and singing. Not too much of the balaclavas and banners urging the gentle folk to attack families in their homes. Think of the children.
Good to know McKibben was proud of them.
Here’s another Simon and Garfunkel reference for him to hum, From The Boxer,”
All lies and jests
Still a man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest.”
