Who will be the lucky winner?
This screenshot from my WordPress control panel shows we are closing in on comment number 1 million. We’ll reach that is a few days. This is a testament to our volunteer moderation team.
Whoever gets comment number one million, I’ll send off a small prize to; a WUWT mug labeled as being the millionth commenter.
If you have not commented on WUWT before, you might consider doing so.
I wonder if any other climate blogs have this many comments?
Just for those that might go looking to match up comment numbers, don’t bother, because due to spam comments (that every wordpress blog gets) that are automatically trashed by Akismet, the comment number and the total valid comments don’t match. The 995,650 comments represent valid comments that were not flagged as spam and were approved by one of our moderation team members.

If Mosher wins the mug, I hope you put the label on upside down so he occasionally trys to fill it that way.
If Michael E. Mann wins the mug, I hope you first drop it and send him a picture (model) you took of it earlier. Then send him the pieces from another mug entirely.
If Willis wins the mug, he must promise to write about the adventure in flowery prose, as we all know he will, so we can all enjoy vicariously.
If Romm were to happen to win the mug, you can undoubtedly keep it, as he’d have no part of it.
And if I win the mug, … No, I won’t win the mug, but I’ll certainly envy the one who does.
Thanks a million, Anthony. And all you mods, too! A million thanks!
Oh dear, you are all SO superficial. I would never dream of writing a comment purely in the hope of winning a mug. Shame on you all.
BTW, does an overseas winner have to pay postage? I’m in the UK.
Harold Ambler says (March 11, 2013 at 12:14 pm): “Unless I’m mistaken, RealClimate already eclipsed this mark … wait for it … for deleted comments.”
Actually, RealClimate can’t account for their missing comments, and it’s a travesty that they can’t.
Harold deserves an honorary millionth post for that one!
Comment: I get a warm glow when ever I see a WUWT slap down of another warmist BS propaganda dressed as up as a scientific paper. Keep up the good work Anthony and many thanks to the hard working contributors who help to make WUWT the best blog in the world!
Congrats!!!
Oh dear. I never thought there would be a day when there are GET posts on WUWT.

I don’t care if anyone likes , loves, or hates my comments. Here on WUWT University I call it like I see it. One million? I’m just one in a million!

happy One Millionth, Anthony. You’ve definitely earned it….
Congratulations Anthony, on a great website with almost 1 million posts. The mug will be a great prize, how about though for the 2 millionth post, a snow shovel bearing the legends “It’s worse than we thought” and “In the future, snow will be a rare and exciting event”.
Oh, it is not been a rare and exciting event here in the UK, but it has been worse than we thought!
I’m sure I’m too late, BUT keep up the good work and congrats for the 1,000,000 mark!!!!
One million non-spam posts! On all my blogs together, I have less than 100 non-spam posts. And my ratio of spam to non-spam is more than 100:1. Congratulations! Can’t stop the signal – need to filter the nosise. Now, if “Real” Climate had a signal-to-noise-ratio > zero in published comments, it might have more comments.
Did I win yet?
Did I win second time?
WUWT is a great site! But only a mug for 1 million? I want at least 2 mugs.
Anthony: If you could send us a “counter” gadget… I digress.
I’m glad to see more ads on your page. I hope they are being clicked. It’s almost unimaginable the amount of work and effort you put forth Anthony. And if and when the AGW fear turns tides, your website has a perfect name for keeping other science fields in check. The ultimate peer review process I would say.
Third time lucky? and spelled correctly!
Congratulations, Anthony! Your hard work has truly made a difference!
Nice ! Congrat’s Anthony!
Now, I wonder what it would be like if someone who has never posted here would win?
Just pondering the thought 🙂
Only a million?
One of Lewandowskis surveys gets more than that … at the press of a button…
Maybe either Gore, Hansen or Schmidt is the winner. Or President Obama?

No comment, except: You’re one of the best, Anthony. Great post on Allan Savory and “re-greening” deserts – evidential as to why WUWT is the Best on the ‘net. May I say: phenomenal!
Congratulations, Anthony and Team, on one million posts to the one site on the web that does the best job of standing in the gap for science.
What about a posting comparing the state of consensus climatology, before the first and after the millionth comment on WUWT?
What of the consensus wisdom still stands?
What measurements could one use?
I can say my peace of mind, with respect to IPCC scare stories is much better, but my antagonism toward my employees, the government is much aggravated.
Groupthink is the norm at the committee level.
Regarding the damage I perceive this scam to have done my country, I am driven to the conclusion, no government is worth this cost.
The watchdogs, were not asleep, they were ravaging the commons.
My opinion of my government will never be better than it be today.
One small milestone for humanity, one large impact on climate discussion. Here is to the next Million comments.
