Nominations are open for the 2013 weblog awards

Bloggies_nomination_2013

It is that time again, and after winning this two years in a row, can WUWT make it to “Hall of Fame” status by winning it a third year? Hard to say, but if we do, that will put us out of the running forever, since we cannot ever win the science category again if WUWT wins three times.

I’m going to ask for reader help again this year, and it is easy for you to submit a nomination.

Last year you may recall, that skeptic blogs swept the competition worldwide. WUWT won the lifetime achievement award and these four skeptic blogs were also winners in their categories:

Tallbloke stands tall!

McIntyre – Oh Canada!

Ice cube survives in hell, film at 11…

And there was this:

HOW TO NOMINATE:

1. This year, to participate in nomination, all you need to do is have a valid email address and visit the nomination page.

http://2013.bloggi.es

WUWT has been in the science category for the last two years.

2. Scroll down, fill in the name of the blog and the URL address,

add your nominations, and be sure to include other blogs you follow that you think will merit an award. Your ballot must contain at least three unique nominees in total. For example, for a single category:

2013_au_nom

Or that can be spread across categories.

3. Supply your email address in the form at the bottom.

4. Complete the captcha security words and submit.

5. You’ll get an email (be sure to check your spam filter if you don’t get it within about 5 minutes) with a link to click on, click it, and your nomination will be verified.

Thank you for your consideration, and good luck to everyone. May the best blog win! – Anthony

Well, if you win for the third time, can we vote for you in another category next year?

Anthony. After you’ve won the lifetime award, can you change the name of the blog ever so slightly and re-enter?
REPLY: No, that would be dishonest – Anthony

Too bad Twitter doesn’t have a Lifetime Twit Award or a Twit of the Year Award… I would surely nominate Michael Mann.

Who knows they may change that rule by next year. It really dose not make sense…

I voted for, firstly, WUWT and then Jonova, Andrew Bolt, and also Bishop Hill, Tallbloke, and the rest of the noble band. Most enjoyable was nominating “Skeptical Science” as the “Best religious blog”. I hope that it wins!

btw, has everyone heard: michael mann is attempting to recruit people to fight the ‘climate disinformation crowd’ https://www.facebook.com/compuhyperglobalmeganet
(Yes, I know, this should go to tips and notes, will do)

Anthony,
Any idea how long to wait for the email? Going on 24 hours now (pretty sure the exact same thing happened last year). I see a few people mentioning only a few hours wait so it seems strange (and just how long does it take to autosend an email anyway?).
P.S. What a great idea submitting SkS for religious blog! I wish I thought of that. If I have to fill this thing out again I am submitting RC, SkS and NASA for the religion category.

Voted! But have still to receive the confirmation email (after two days). wasn’t a problem last year so will try again – unless I get excluded as voting twice.
Best of luck AW.

Anyone else still waiting for the confirmation email?

Yeah I did, (the spam folder). That’s two full days now.
Can someone please post what the originating email address and subject line was for their confirmation email.
Thanks.

Nominated and confirmation received in under a minute, check spam filter if not received. Now I just have to remember to vote after Feb 24th. Best of luck Anthony. Lots of people seem to think they’ve already voted so make sure there’s a reminder when voting starts.
