Some questions for readers

I have noticed some things happening recently that lead me to ask some questions.

1a. If you are subscribed to follow WUWT via email, where you get emails advising you of new posts, are you still getting those emails? For example, a notice of this post?

1b. If you aren’t receiving those emails, are they in your SPAM filter?

2. If you are subscribed to WUWT via RSS feed, are you still able to read it in the reader of your choice?

3. Are you getting any sorts of SPAM, phishing, or “unsafe” website notices for any links that might be embedded in those emails or feeds?

Please leave answers yes/no in comments.

The reason I ask is that WordPress recently flagged WUWT as a high traffic site, and added extra advertising, for which I get a few cents per click. But, at the same time I’m wondering if that has come with a penalty in the form of a raised SPAM score due to that extra advertising.

As always, thanks for visiting and thanks for your support. – Anthony

Use RSS through Google reader. I will note that sometime earlier this week how the post is displayed changed – instead of displaying a summary which required a click to read the whole post, it is now displaying the whole post.

“WordPress recently flagged WUWT as a high traffic site”
Just recently? WordPress must have some pretty high standards if 127,000,000 views doesn’t qualify has high traffic.

I blocked at my firewall all the WordPress adverts on day one so don’t see them, and I’m not subscribed for mail or rss. My email address@domain is real but used only for blogs and it has started receiving a lot of spam in the past year or so.

I use the RSS feed through Google Reader. All is well, no changes to report. Keep up the good work.

NA to all questions. However, I get some strange ads. at the top of a thread and am disinclined to look at them although I would like to earn you a few cents extra. I opened one once and thought ‘whoops!’ and shut my computer down and did a security check when I started again.

FWIW, Anthony, the spam at my WordPress website has skyrocketed in recent months. Daily, there’s 5 to 10 times more spam in my filter now than I had a few months ago.
