I did this because I liked the idea of falsifying the evidence that wine is good for you, I mean why not if it is 5 minutes to midnight on the doomsday clock, makes perfect sense to me…

“Whereas climategate, in my opinion, is just a bunch of nasty socialists”
Socialists like Margareet Thatcher, who started the scare, the people at Enron, and Al Gore, who is an American politician and therefore less socialist than Hayek.
You seem to believe that “an American Politician” is, by definition, “less Socialist” than Hayek. Presumably you also believe that to be true of Obama. Really?

“Socialists like Margareet Thatcher…” She may have started ‘the scare’, but she was definately, and famously, not a socialist.

Raise a toast to Canada’s Conservative government.
Cartoon subject: The Big Worry.
…-
“Environment Canada to get rid of 60 scientists”
“Canada’s Environment Minister Peter Kent. Environment Canada is sending notices to 60 scientists and other researchers that their jobs are being declared surplus.”
“But the big worry is that these cuts are just the beginning. The big cuts are yet to come as departments brace for reductions in the upcoming budget, which could mean cuts of five per cent, 10 per cent or even more from operating budgets.”

Maggie actually had something to say about socialism: http://bsfootprint.com/quotes/margaret-thatcher/trouble-with-socialism-is-that-eventually-you-run-out-of-other-peoples-mone
“Socialist governments traditionally do make a financial mess. They always run out of other people’s money.”

Margaret Thatcher did not like:
Trade unions
The National health service
Free education.
But she did like
Free and unrestrained capitalism.
Authoritarian government
Empire Building and empire maintenance.
On the other hand, China as a committed communist state does not have:
Trade unions
The National health service
Free education.
But does like:
Free and unrestrained capitalism.
Authoritarian government
Empire Building and empire maintenance.
See the difference? Incidentally both talked the talk on climate change, but did not walk the walk.
Thoughts like this occur when I am over-refreshed on the life promoting properties of red wine. It cannot but be good for you!

I’d rather not say – Yes, there’s work other than that done at U Conn, worlds of it, looking at certain pathways triggered by resveratrol, or the so-called Sir2ins. This discredits Das, but probably not other work elsewhere.

Setting my hyperbole aside for a moment, I certainly believe that no socialists get far in American politics.

Verity Jones.
David Jones knows perfectly well that MT was not a socialist. So do I. I was being sarcastic.
